Fantastic interview. Suhr are hands down the best customer focused company I've ever dealt with. I needed new tubes for my Hombre, I asked for replacement advice, because mine was one of the 1st out of the gate Suhr offered to take it back, do the updated circuit revisions, sort me new tubes and ship it back. They covered all the UK to US shipping and the return. Peach sorted everything in the UK. It's a story I never get tired of telling it. Just awesome.
Thank you for this interview. As a Suhr owner I am more than pleased with the company. I don't think I can own any other brand. One aspect of Suhr is the product itself, and the other is CUSTOMER SUPPORT. They have got to be one of THE BEST of any business in USA and it saddens me that on this interview it was not addressed.
Another proud Suhr owner here. I've got a custom Standard, and (criminially underrated) Koji compressor, with a custom Classic S Antique on order. John doesn't give a whole lot of interviews, but his quiet confidence with a sense of humility and gratitude is a big part of why I'm attracted to the brand. Glad the family legacy seems to be intact with Kevin as the future.
@jcallseven I love the pedal and use it as my primary pedalboard compressor. There is a bit of learning curve and it's "more" than what I need, and likely more than what most people need out of a compression pedal. While I do love it and think it sounds great, I'd probably go with the Woodshed or something simpler if doing it over again.
@@Dan.L.Oliveira It seems to be about 12 months now, but best bet is to call customer service or your dealer as the wait time seems to fluctuate throughout the year depending on how busy they are at any given moment. My first Suhr was 9 months, second one was 13.
THANK YOU Suhrs! I'm fortunate enough to have 5 Suhr guitars in my collection and I love them all. My "wood collection" includes 3 that I consider museum pieces. Suhrs are perfectly crafted and they STAY IN TUNE! I respect the vintage guitar fans, but I'll keep my Suhr collection and everyone can fight over the vintage stuff! Great interview from both sides.
Excellent interview. I greatly admire Suhr’s work & guitars. As a long-term of numerous Suhr guitars, I can attest that their service & products are first rate! Great to see John’s son involved in the business & continuing his legacy of excellence!
I got my Suhr classic HSS (humbucker music special edition with a roasted flame maple neck) a year ago. Pricey? Yes, it was. However, I stopped looking at guitars altogether once I got it. Incredible instruments.
Been a huge Suhr fan for years, own 3 guitars (once there were 9!) and a decent selection of their pedals. One day I'll own one of their amps. Massive respect for what John and Kevin have done and continue to do, and thanks guys for hosting a really interesting interview with them.
I have had 4 Suhr guitars and they are very nice. Pricing has gone off the charts a simple strat style now $3000? Charvel s have great necks and although you sacrifice some quality you make it up in saving money. Average players making $100 a gig would have to play many gigs to pay off a 3k investment. They have lost some market share raising prices.
I’ve no doubt at all that my custom Suhr will be awesome when it arrives, but the 4 month delay to the build start date isn’t exactly ideal. It’s going to be 20 months since ordering by the time it arrives. That’s too long in my opinion.
I use to take guitar lessons from John in his parents New Jersey basement bedroom when he was like 21 or so and I was 18. He was a great guitar player and everything guitar 24/7. I am not at all surprised at who he has become. He is building me my 2nd Suhr now. Fender Custom Shop can not do what he does because they don't want to do what he does. His techs called me from the bench when they were setting up my custom Strat with Floyd Rose to go over the final setup. I was shocked, but again...not surprised. Nobody does that at that scale. Every detail of that guitar was talked over with John on the pros and con's of what I wanted from it. Finally I just said "build me a guitar you would want to play" he said "don't worry, I will build you a guitar that I would play" It came out amazing. 14,000 likes on his instagram page from my guitar. So happy to see his son in the business. A great kid just like his dad was. 👏
@@PeachGuitars Taylor Ham egg & cheese...salt pepper ketchup. A north Jersey jobsite standard sangwich order. Its been said that way forever. *Sangwhich. 🙂
I give the Peach guys credit for doing heir best to let the Suhrs know the biggest gripe about their guitars--the weight--which the Suhrs shrugged off.
Hi There, Sadly there will be no factory tour. Suhr are in the process of re-designing their factory floor so they respectfully asked us to not to film the inner workings
I love Suhr guitars, some of the finest in the world… but they really let me down with my recent PT Signature order: The guitar doesn’t stay in tune, fret and hardware issues, etc. What’s worse is they are ignoring emails regarding this guitar - such a shame to see a decline in QC and customer service!
The reasons people use modelers on gigs are 1) volume limitations 2) much less gear 3) different amps for different songs 4) unlimited effects etc The comments about moving air have been around forever. Physics is physics. If you’re not pushing the FRFR as loud as a tube amp, you need more power. A modeler will feedback just like a tube amp. As for guitar speakers, to really do apples to apples, you need to cut the IR highs WAY BACK to achieve that tubey high end with zero harshness. By the way, I’ve owned an endless list of Suhr gear over the last 25 years. I don’t shun tube gear, there’s plenty of room for people to use what they choose.
I've owned several Suhr guitars - pedals - and a couple of PT-100's - over the years. Don't let sticker shock scare you away. Suhr products are worth every penny. My main player is a custom Suhr Standard. I'll never part with it.
Hi Bee! This video was filmed during our visit to California back in January. We have a bunch more awesome content from this trip still waiting to be released. Stay tuned!
John we need an original single cut design that doesnt look like a les paul. Friedman Metro D is a good example, Kiesel Zeus is another, Huber Dolphin, ect.
