Only 2 speaker grills are metal with the Burmester?! That is SO LAME. Mercedes Burmester is all metal grills, they look way way better.

They really should do the red top and interior in a darker shade of red. Red - anything red (glass, plastic, fabric, leather, paint, etc.) has selenium in it and selenium sun fades with time. That light red will become pink over time. At least a darker shade of red would first face to a more standard red before going pink. A darker shade of burgundy would delay that process.

IIRC what's 'Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur about' the lights isn't the function but the colour and the process of changing it out. The standard ones are silver and those are the only ones that are assembled on the line, if you choose the black ones the car fully assembled gets transferred over to the Porsche Manufaktur building where whatever you ordered gets changed out.

10:09 the PDLS+ Matrix headlights are standard, but the blacked out version of the same headlights by Porsche Exklusive Manufaktur are optional

The 911 Turbo S Cabriolet is the king 👑

We know they setup the transmission to handle a hybrid series powertrain. My guess is we will see an electrically boosted version of 992.3 in the near future. It will give you a couple miles of electric only power, in order to avoid downtown London tolls (important for Porsche cheap skates), but will also give you some ridiculous HP and Torque boost that will make no sense to anyone that isn't taking it to the drag strip.

991.2 GT3 prices are falling. Plus it is available in a manual. Redline 9,000!

When will this car be available in the USA? I want one but I don’t want the 2019 model. I want the 2021.

The Hyundai standard equipment reference was somewhat comical when you compare these two manufacturers but it's worth mentioning my $25k Kia probably has standard options that this Porsche doesn't. I wouldn't refuse one if it was gifted to me but for my money, I'd get a KIa Stinger.

I will join the others in welcoming Herr MM back - we missed your incomparable style. But I will agree to disagree on the "analog vs digital" analogy. A digital car just would not have re-arranged your facial muscles on a launch, as you demonstrated so well in this review. Better to say that the Turbo line is Porsche's version of American muscle, its all about low-down massive torque, plus the AWD to put down that torque at any time in any weather. The GT line is all about the Euro tradition of racing finesse, with super high revving NA motor, noise, and delicate 2WD balance. For a car intended to be tracked regularly, I would prefer the GT line, but for every day? The Turbo, without a doubt. Simply because you can use that 1900 rpm-and-up max torque in daily driving (even if just for a few seconds....), much more easily than a 9000 rpm redline.

The turbo S coup would BE perfect IF ...... seeing as the rear seats drop for extra storage capacity .... like the McLaren 570 GT the rear window opens for easier access to put items into the back of the car ????? plus ... seeing as you have a reversing camera ..... why or why isn’t it linked with a switch that changes your internal mirror to a camera ???? Think think think ?

Is the red coupe Carmine red or Guard red? On the website the carmine red looks more metallic burgundy.

A base C Class has a tire temperature display! I agree that it’s cool, but it’s nothing of note on a $200K+ car.

First of all, love your reviews. You get into details and specs as well as real-world driving feel and experience like no one else. The shots of you performing a launch control were hilarious. I watched that several times and loved your reactions. Also, details like the battery info and the roof info is something no one else seems to have spent any time on. Well done, as always. A couple of minor comments: 1) You have mentioned the additional $200 for “Power Steering Plus” a few times and talked about how surprising it is that they offer this as a priced option on a $200K+ car. The car DOES have power steering... and of course you know this. The “plus” version just offers MORE assist at lower speeds. And you know this too. I just want to point out that not everyone wants this in a sports car. I put this option on my 2019 Cayenne Turbo, but NOT on my 991 GTS. That’s the beauty of it being an “option”. I like the more linear, natural transition from low speed to high speed steering feel on my 911, but on my heavier, sporty-but-not-AS-sporty Cayenne I felt it would be a nice addition. I feel I was correct on both calls. The steering is a bit heavier at lower speeds in my 911, but it feels natural and likewise transmits beautiful feel at higher speeds. My Cayenne is more about comfort plus a much heavier vehicle so the extra assist at low speed is welcome. 2) You always detail all the extra options Porsche charges for: while I appreciate this, and it’s always good to call out a car manufacturer for over-pricing, I tend to feel that the way Porsche does this is not that bad of a thing. I look at it this way... to me, a Porsche represents a “bargain” on the super-car playing field, especially when compared to other high-end exotics with similar performance. Making individual options available, or not, may allow someone to spec a Turbo with fewer do-dads and nannies and save ten or fifteen grand. Personlly, I didn’t want “lane holding” or “adaptive cruise control” or PDK on my 911, but I’m a little old-fashioned. It gives a buyer a chance to spec out some performance goodies and save on some of the luxuries, without being forced to pay extra for them, if they so choose. You can also put the money elsewhere, to useless stuff, like I did, with full leather-backed buckets and LED lit 911 logos on the door sills (dumb, but I love it). Anyway, that’s my point... I applaud Porche for making it possible to spend the money where you want. And is it fair to compare the standard features to something like a Hyundai or Volvo (not slagging those brands, but they’re not in the same category as Porsche)? That’s all I’m saying. Nice to see you back behind the wheel! Nice review! Regarding the turbo the 930 interior is awesome to me 930 is still one of the best looking turbos (Bad Boys movie has something to do with that). Unfortunately the line between regular 992 and turbo is blurred, at least looks wise, because all 911 have wide body now. Where do we go from here? Like you said electrification probably, efficiency for sure.

I will like to point out that these are enthusiasts cars. That is why all the driver assistance components are optional, if you wish to keep the driving experience pure you can leave these out and have a car that have to be DRIVEN in all situations. Like don’t put any camera systems and you go can enjoy blind reverse parking in tricky spots and sweat and worry about cracking the rear diffuser every single time. Ah the name of the paint is not carrEra white…but CarrAra white like the marble.

The AC makes not much sense when driving, but if you got grilled at a traffic light or traffic jam.

Think the 992.2 will refine the exterior design as the 991.2 did over the 991.1......I prefer the 991.2 as a sleeker design and not so rear heavy......

Love these two last reviews. As for the question you posed at the end of the video, I believe that the cars can get a little quicker, but with the relentless war on speed and performance, where can all that power be used, arguably not in the real world. The next frontier is efficiency, and the push to eliminate the ICE, which at some point, especially in Europe, is coming.

I have to admit....as a kid, I didn't like Porsche. My dentist always had them and BMW's. However, I have changed my mind gradually and I know they're probably the most well rounded sports car! I will buy a new one some day.... When the price is not an issue. Worried about when they go electric. Feel I might miss out on the age of internal combustion. Cuz I will only buy new. Beautiful car though!!!!!

How about a pic of the headliner in the cab?? About your last question..”Where does Porsche go?” If they want to reconnect with their original base, back to a more analog car as speed is already beyond anything but bragging. Porsche needs to dump the idea we customers are looking for a instrument of speed and get back to the analog enjoyment of DRIVING. Porsche has also pushed the limits in their price point as their cars are simply not worth it from a pure speed/performance stand point. Build quality over the last decade is average at best for a $50k car. Lower the cost of a respectable 911S to $100k otd nicely equipped and then Porsche is back to the good old days of their price and targeted enthusiast demographic. At this point Porsche is grossly over price.and living off the glory of yesteryear to new money that only wants the prestige of the badge. This coming from a 30 years of 911/930 ownership.

Quick tip no. 134: Press the dictate-button on the far left of the steering wheel and say "I'm cold" - the system will then increase the temperature and switch on / off the AC if needed.

I’ve gone 170 with the top down and the noise is deafening.

I don't have the means for any of this stuff but I am a big Porsche fan, however, a convertible Turbo S just makes the word poser jump in my head. Speedster, doesn't seem to have that stigma but the Turbo S, I don't know, poser. Great video as always.

I have seen some Porsche board posts regarding how far you can go with Porsche's Exclusive Manufaktur. You can do an awful lot, including custom paint jobs and the like. BUT it seems that Porsche has final say on what they'll let you get away with. They still want to retain both the allure and resale potential of the car, so if you ask them for Signal Orange or Oslo Blue for your Panamera, they might say fine. But if you ask for a color or color combination they don't "approve of", they won't do it for you; you'll then have to go after-market for the work you want done.

Just not a fan of the cabs. I drive the 991.2 currently and bought the 992 as I’m thinking the 992.2 will be a hybrid as Porsche has up its shares of Rimac’s stock .

The problem with it is the lag between systems and it drastically (huge emphasis on drastically) reduces the reliability of the vehicle. That is why most people don't like the stop start engine system.

I just can’t imagine paying 230,000$ for an automobile. It’s a truly wonderful machine, I enjoy seeing them on the road and I salute those lucky folks that buy one...but as for me, even if I had the budget, I probably wouldn’t be able to put down my signature. I mean, it IS a ton of money...actually it’s a bit over the top, really.

I believe this is the last 911 to be powered by gas only. The next 911 generation will be a hybrid and then full electric.

The thing I hate the most is the shifter. It looks too delicate.

I think electrification will Aid in reducing any turbo lag and parasitic losses with drive belts.

The AMG GTR Roadster blows this away in sound and looks. The 911 Turbo S is a great car, but it’s nowhere near as exclusive as the GTR, either. These things matter to me when I’m paying 220k plus for a motor vehicle.
