Thank you for helping me to reawaken a part of me that got so so so lost for nearly 4 years. You've inspired me to read again, imagine again, be a child again, and embrace my hobbies
@@DarlingDesiHonestly you definitely have re-ignited, inspired and influenced in a good meaningful way to many more people in different ways more than you could probably ever imagine. I am sure most of us watching in some way have been impacted in a positive way by your beautiful soul and your inspirational videos. You’re of my favorite influencer we have so very much in common interests! I am another impacted greatly by your beautiful persona & content. You have inspired me to remember who I used to be before marriage & motherhood, now making time to rekindle my old hobbies like reading, writing poetry, painting, my hunger for knowledge continue learning history & French language, vintage hunt sourcing dressing up being my girly self just because, etc. (I have been slowly finding healing my lost self inner child long forgotten for the past 12yrs) your content and my current circumstances found each other in such a fine tuned time perfectly together, together ignited the spark I needed for change & healing! and for this I thank you! ❤
Your clip of saying you wanted to squeeze something and cutting away to your cat's surprised face was one of the best subtle comedic moments I've ever seen on RU-vid! Also - the book covers - it's like permanent gift wrap that you never have to take off!!! Happy March 1st to you!
Greetings from Greece dear Desi! You are my favourite RU-vidr! I'm 52 years old, mom of two adults sons and of a daughter in high school. My sweet daughter, Michaela, told me about you, and since then I feel so thankful every time you upload a video! Thank you!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I’m 56 and I watch binge watch Desi’s videos too. I live vicariously through her since my young adult life was 😢. You’re never too old to dream and start to make the changes in your life to live the life you wanted in your youth. ❤
It is excellent! One of my childhood favorites. Others you might like are "The Cat Who Wished to be a Man", "Mara, Daughter of the Nile", and "Castledown", by Joyce Ballou Gregorian
OMG you are going to LOVE from the mixed up files!! it's about 2 kids who run away to live in the MET museum, and the whimsy and art and shenanigans made an indelible impact on my childhood. one of my favorite books!
Ahhh me tooooo!! It’s been a bit hard renting a fully furnished house. Been definitely missing my bedframe and secretary desk! We’re moving this summer and will finally be in a place that we can fully furnish and decorate!
Oh Darling desi, how i wish we could be friends in real life. Your videos speak to my heart the person you are brings a kindness and gentleness to my life that i only realize is missing when i see your new videos pop up. To have a friend like minded and wonderful as you is a blessing even just over the internet. I could picture going to eachothers house having tea and reading in spring time. Swapping books from our personal libraries, leaving little notes in books for eachother to find later, running through meadows of flowers. i have no one i can really be myself around, or that feeds and enjoys that part of me that wishes she was in a classic novel. So that part of me often gets pushed down deep. Your videos make me feel seen thank you so much! i will forever watch your channel over and over! With all the love and admiration - A kindred spirit finding her way💛
P.s My birthday is march 5th ill be 30 and plan to try and make it a day to be as me as i can be and feed my soul with what it craves. An anne of green gables day if you will
This is so perfect! And perfect timing because today is the first day of meteorological Spring! I've been binge watching Bridgerton and your Spring and Summer videos for weeks. This video is the icing on the cake.
Another MAGICAL mini film, Desiree! ☺️👏🏻 You always make every video that you produce, no matter the subject, evoke warm and cozy vibes while also inspiring us to be passionate and excited about life! 🥹♥️ 💐 📚
The book From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler is one of my favorites! ❤ and I first read it as an adult. Somehow missed it growing up. But my daughters just loved it and I occasionally reread it. Classic! Who doesn’t want to live in the Metropolitan Museum in NY?
Here I sit under blankets to tired to read or knit or anything, recovering from surgery and so I am given this lovely, happy video and I feel much better after the first two seconds of watching it, most probably I will be cured before the end. Thank you for beautifying this world by spreading your special light!
Your videos wrap me in comfort with warmth, sweetness, and tranquility. Each time I press play, a unique joy fills my heart, lifting my spirits! your gentle content brightens my mood like a warm embrace on a cold day! your delightful character radiates, illuminating the screen with authenticity and charm. And your presence feels like a trusted friend sharing a heartfelt conversation, making me feel connected! Please continue to share your beautiful content, we support you 🌸✨
❤ my favorite youtuber ! It makes my whole day when i get to watch a new desi video my 4 year old watched it with me then asked to read books with me 😊
Happy belated Birthday. I have to admit, I've never been a reader, but watching you, has peaked my interest, just the titles have gotten my attention. And come on, we couldn't sit and read all day in a book nook like what you've created, it's beyond lovely.
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! Honestly I went years without reading because I think university kinda ruined it for me. But it just took the right book (a random thriller that I picked up while riding the subway in Seoul) to get me back into reading and change my life so much for the better 🥰
Oh trust me, we have other bookshelves with the pages out! It all depends on the vibe that I’m going for in a specific space. For my room, all the spring spines matched nicely with the colors in the room (no black or grey spines) 👌🏻
Yay!! New Spring video❤ Ive been rewatching all your previous Spring and Summer videos lately. Especially love the ones with book/tv/movie recommendations.
Always here to recommend Tove Jansson's works to you, Desi, and all your audience! ❤ Love your videos and style, and the books would be a delightful sight in you book nook!
Love this little nook! So important we have a cozy spot to unwind in and divulge into that world of literature and imagination 🥰📚 Happy Belated, Birthday!! Spoil yourself, Desi…. You deserve it! 🎂
OMG the green with the floral wallpaper is so pretty! Very cottagecore. Friendly note, spiders are an important part of nature, but I hate finding them in my house too, so maybe consider the glass and paper technique to toss them outside. They keep the other bugs under control in the summer which is always a plus! Enjoy your cosy book nook!
We usually try to do that, but where this one was on a ceiling was too high for either of us to reach, unless with the fly swatter 🙁 And sadly Binx had an extremely swollen and puss filled toe the other day and the vet thinks it was some kind of spider bite. So for now, the spiders can stay outside 🌳
The Paper Palace is soooooo good!! I didn't know anything about it, just saw the cover at my library and instantly picked it up. It's an amazing story!!
I can’t believe on your bed I spotted a copy of my novel ‘Home for the Holidays’ - that made my day ! I hope you enjoyed reading my novel as a British author and you being one of my favourite RU-vidrs made me so happy to see you had it in your collection !! My second published book will be out in the fall of this year ! Hope you enjoy reading home for the holidays - it really is a super cute romantic yet very traditional feel good story. I really enjoyed this video and what a beautiful reading nest you created ! You have inspired me so much to transform my reading area ! Best wishes to you Desi from England , love Sophie x you’ve made my day 🌷
I feel like we’re on a regency FaceTime with every video! You have such a wonderful eye for all things cottagey and cozy! The color palettes and textures go so nicely together! Love ya girl! 🔅🫶
I feel like a nice spring-themed craft could be transforming that armchair by sewing a fitted sleve/cover so you can change the vibe between seasons. It could be fun to try!
What a BEAUTIFUL book nook! And you look like a princess out of a cottagecore fairytale. 🧁🎀 Thank you for making these videos. They're a treat to the eyes and heart. 💗
I've got about a dozen Little Free Libraries within walking distance of my house (including our own!) and I know where each one is by heart although we do keep a list of addresses, which we print copies of to put in ours. It's so fun finding new ones we didn't know about. One of them is built into the stump of a tree and it has a cute little roof on it and a small door in the side where a gnome lives. Also...you are allowed to take more than one book you know. You didn't have to leave Despereaux behind if you wanted it.
I can't believe how good and full your little free libraries are around you! Also like everyone else said, Mixed Up Files is EXCELLENT and a childhood classic!
You are honestly such an inspiration, the amount of thought and creativity that goes into the editing, music, colours is soso impressive. You manage to set an entire mood with your storytelling and visuals, and I aspire to one day be able to do the same. Lots of love from the other side of the world
Okay I'm not the biggest reader but this makes me want a booknook/reading corner in my house. In general I love the reading aestethic, like seeing people cozy up with tea and a book looks so nice but actually reading I find reall hard unless the book is like really good. I am finishing a good girls guide to murder right now and I have been reading that for almost a year but it is actually really good in my opinion.
The bookshelf flippy thingy at the end was so creative and unique! The effort and creativity that goes into every one of your videos does not go unnoticed. I’m in love with your booknook! Thank you for sharing this with us! 🤍
EEEEK you MUST keep going with Throne of Glass!! TRUST ME! It's my favorite series I've ever read. Things definitely pick up and the characters' stories are just incredible.❤
I'm so glad you took "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankwiler." What's not to love about a story of two kids living in a museum?! You'll love it.
In case you are not familiar with the magazine ,Enchanted Living, I think you should check it out. It comes out 4 times a year and this year's theme is BOOKS. I think you would love it!
AHHHHH DESI YOU LOVE KATHERINE ARDEN AND ALSO MIDDLE GRADE HORROR AND SHE HAS A WHOLE SERIES OF MIDDLE GRADE HORROR THAT IS JUST SO SCARY OKAY! AND SOOOOO ATMOSPHERIC AND AUTUMNAL!!
Dear Desi, I'm not the type to comment much on videos, but I really wanted to thank you for warming up my heart more and more every time you post, I've been crying (happy tears) at the last 6 or 7 videos... You make me long for a life I could only dream of and inspire me to take steps, however little they are, towards that life. ❤❤❤ Please don't ever stop being you! 🙏🏻 Also, you and Jared are absolutely adorable! 👩❤️👨
Perfect!!!! Every time i step in a library i think I could pull my bed in here and live right here!!! I love how beautiful everything turned out!!!!📚📖🥀
Omgosh you will LOVE the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankenweiler!!! Set at The Met ... you will have so much fun reading it! Go back for the Tale of Desperaeux! Happy reading in your lovely nook! Thanks for the inspiration kindred spirit ❤
Omg the instrumental version of the theme song from Totoro was awesome. My 3 year old son sings this everyday and it’s the cutest ever. “Let’s go walking you and meeeee.” 😭
Here enters Spring officially with none other than Darling Desi❤ Can't wait for you to move to Europe. You're made for that place, Desi. Love you from Bangladesh 😊
That was such a sweet and joyful video ! Thank you so much Desi for sharing this with us and doing such an amazing work with the filming and the editing !
From the Mixed Up Files was one of my very favourite books when I was growing up, and I still have it. You will love it!! Also, the nook is absolutely gorgeous. I love how it came together. You have a knack for cozy and getting the cottagecore vibe just right, especially with the books and art. Seeing the space come together was so lovely!! Even your Brooklinen ad was so good. I've wanted to get their sheets forever, but I just don't have it anywhere close in the budget right now. These videos just make me so happy. Thank you for being so YOU, so good at what you do, and helping people like me get through our day. xo
I just found your channel a couple days ago, found this video first when I was trying to look for good book ideas. I legit went to Barnes and Noble today with my husband to get the Ready Or Not book. Thank you!
O M G You have no idea the power you have over me. I'm having this horrible winter blues, horrible, horrible, it's raining non stop in Portugal and every day is just a dark and unjoyable day for me... But then... BUT THEN... You make a video full of magic, cosy and colors and enchanted cute little smiley details. OOOHHHH... I swear you always save my soul with your BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING soul. Thank you so much for your existince ❤
I have a small apartment and I'd love to give it a cottage vibe, I can't do much atm since I don't have a big budget to change everything, but I do have a small room where I want to do something similar. I wanted to add paneling like this, a bit taller, but in white... but seing it in green I love it! I also have green panelling in the wall behind the front door where I have the coat hangers so it could look nice! It's a shame that where I'm from ready to assemble panelling packs are not easily available, I do have some thrifted wood flooring and we've been working with that to make the panels, but it's so much work, sometimes tackling it is hard, it's like a mental load haha I absolutely adore your sweater btw 😍😍 And Ibañez is a Spanish surname, the Ñ is pronounced similar to the GN in italian (like gnocchi) or similar to an NY sound; and the Z depends on the Spanish accent, in Spain it's mostly pronounced like a TH in English (like think) but in some areas and in latin america is pronounced like S.
