Hi Cath, thank you for another lovely and cozy vlog! ♥ I'm happy to hear that you'll be taking April a bit more easy. Not only because everybody needs a rest, but because April (and May) are going to be very busy and stressful for me, so I'd welcome some cozy laid back vlogs for sure, haha. I am finishing my thesis right now, as well as my final semester. I will need to start studying for uni finals soon, and there has been a lot going on in my life in general, it's been hectic. In short, I've been very stressed. As an anxious overthinker, my default state is stressed, but now I'm stressed to the point of having troubles sleeping. I've been trying to practice mindfulness and I found myself searching out comfort things like food or books. That is also why I've read 19 books so far this year, a feat I have never achieved before in my life. To be honest, I did read an 8 book series that I have been so looking forward to that I read each book in a day. It is called Heaven Official's Blessing, a danmei (chinese version of boys love) series. You sold me on I Hope This Doesn't Find You, though I know I won't relate to the main character as much as you. I don't usually read YA romance, I find BookTok loves hyping up mediocre (to me) romance books too much. But I definitely want to check this one out! Sadly it isn't available in my country yet :( Hope you have a nice week! xx
hi dee! oh it’s my pleasure 🥰 hahaha yes i’m really hoping to upload more videos throughout may! i’m so sorry you’ve been stressed out to the point of having sleep troubles, but i’m glad you can find solace in good food and books :) i can relate in that i “escape” whenever i feel too overwhelmed. i still hop you’re getting the rest and sleep you deserve though! 19 books is amazing! i love the feeling of reading books back to back, especially for a series you’re excited for 🥰 i don’t read books based on booktok recommendations at all for the same reason you mentioned, and i also don’t normally read YA books.. but yes i think it depends on the story and characters (if they’re relatable or not)! 🥰 i hope the book releases in your country soon! have a nice week too 🤍
I love your videos :) Please could you tell me more about the Annotations, the process especially, how do you annotate and why do you anntate so much. I was always so intrigued while watching your videos, I would really really love to know these facts. Myself I have been one avid reader since my highschool days, but after school I hardly got any time, but your videos inspired me back again to the book world. Love all your videos, they are so aesthetic and peaceful 🥰❤
thank you so much!! 🥰 i’ll have a video all about annotations soon, but i don’t actually have a system! i just annotate whatever speaks to me, and in this case, the quotes and characters spoke to me a lot! 😂 i treat the book like a journal, and write out whatever i’m thinking of based on what i’m reading :) i’m glad you’re getting back into reading again! i was the same and read lots of books in high school, but that changed when i started uni! i love that reading has found its way back into our lives 🥰 thank you so much for the support!
Thank you for posting! I really enjoyed your video. Also, I enjoyed the summary breakdown you provided about the character in the book you read. Your annotation style seems very well-rounded, nice work! I don’t think it’s a waste of money to purchase the physical copy, e-copy and audible. Like you stated it supports the author and that’s what matters. Also, this is a good way to take a step back from work, studies and other life responsibilities. The background music is very soothing and thanks for sharing which tea to purchase! Have a beautiful day!
I kept this book for my journaling time as usual, but I must thank you for somehow uploading it when I most needed it. I'm feeling better now, but these days I've been a bit overwhelmed with women's issues added to bad weather. In my area of the world it is never too cold or too hot, but the weather is unpredictable and one minute it can be raining hard and the next it could be warm and sunny, too sudden a change. Today is a cold day so here I am, having a freshly made hot chocolate, journaling, being accompanied by you and feeling a bit better and cosier. Thank you for always being there dearest Cath. I wish you the best always
Love your videos so much. So peaceful and calming. We are enjoying everything coming to life again over here and blooming. So peaceful hearing the birds chirping & enjoying the spring air. Enjoy the autumn times. 🍂 thanks for a beautiful video hun! ✨️🤎
Love your video! I was just drinking a cup of tea when I was watching this, such a cozy theme - I love!! Really enjoy these videos, its so important to slow down and enjoy the present moment :D
Ahhh lovely video! It’s always so nice to watch your longer annotations, and hope that the autumn season will continue to be an easier, relaxing time for you!
Hi, Cath! What a perfect way to end the day, with a lovely thirty minute video after a long and rough day. You are absolutely incredible, and I hope you have a great week 😊
Thank you for creating these videos Cath. I always look forward to watching them and it is my favourite way to relax and spend a cozy time whenever I need it. As usual, this one made me feel a lot better
I don't comment on videos usually, but I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your videos. I have a very stressful job with long work hours and have been going through a difficult time in my personal life but your videos have been really nice to relax to and help bring things into perspective, like enjoying a good cup of tea and enjoying slower moments 🥰. You also inspired me to get into journaling and it has been so cathartic! So thank you, keep up the great work! Look forward to your subscriber numbers growing! ♥
A 30 minute video from Cath! 😮😳🤣♥️🌿🥰😻 I loooove how you take time to really engage in your reads and also I love that you make everyday things a slow, delightful ritual. It brings so much joy to life to slow down and really savor things.
I saved this video for a slow wake up morning on my day off 😊 hazelnut coffee, a kitty on my lap, and Cath's lovely videos. I don't think it there's a better start to the weekend 🌱☺️💙 Seeds!! Waaahhhhhh how exciting for you! Also, your tea pot and cup variety is lovely 🍵 I have so much tea but since I am always in a hurry I tend to gravitate toward the same two: English breakfast and green jasmine 😅
Yep I had plans for April and now it is going and I have to go back to my usual life like before😢 and i guess you should buy the new book which is coming out and you can try discovering new types of books by blind date book and I have a graphic novel recommendation also PAPER GIRLS which is a very incredible story and when you were making tea and said Oh Hi Prince that line gave a warm smile on my face I dunno why but that was cute 😅 and wanna see your plants in your next upload ❤ and sometimes no alot of times your videos feel like autumnal disney movies
I also sometimes buy books in multiple formats. Amazon seems to make it inexpensive to add one format when you purchase another too. There are some amazing actor readings of literary fiction these days -- Meryl Streep reading Tom Lake, Tom Hanks reading The Dutch House... It's like having your favorite entertainer read you a bedtime story! Even non-celebrity narrators can be amazing. I only buy Elizabeth Strout's Lucy Barton books in Audible format because the reader just inhabits the first-person voice and becomes Lucy. I like e-readers the least, although I used mine a lot when I lived in Mexico and couldn't access English language bookstores easily. I love the heft of a real hardback book. I can't read in a car or bus. Sometimes I even get queasy on a train or plane. I hadn't thought that a digital reader might alleviate that somewhat. Hmmmm... Love your video as always! 🍁🍎☕
oh i totally understand!! i love audiobooks for the same reasons :) plus i love that i can “read” while i’m doing chores, gardening, etc with them! one of my favorite celebrity narrators is trevor noah! he narrated his own audiobook Born A Crime, and it’s one of my favorite audiobooks ever! e-readers definitely don’t have the same feel as a physical book! i still much prefer reading my paperbacks but can’t deny the convenienxe of my boox ereader :) yes give it a go! it might be easier on your eyes since the texts can be made larger 🥰 thank you for the support and sharing your lovely thoights 🥹🤍🤍
Just found your channel about a month ago and I love your production and creative process. I am of course biased to anyone who finds anyway to incorporate Studio Ghibli into everyday life :) Thank you.
Hi Cath I love your videos , they are so calming . Can you do a video on how to balance work and making time for hobbies . You seem to be able to do it . What area of work are you in and do you ever work from home ? It’s hard not to let work consume creativity
hi there! thank you so much :) i’ll be doing a notion tour soon and it’ll be all about how i stay organised with my 9-5 job and hobbies! i am in consulting and very rarely work from home, and it’s hard but definitely doable :) sometimes i feel like i crave my creative hobbies more during weekdays after work, so it’s an interesting complement 😊
love watching your videos very relaxing and inspires me to read more. Please explain why you annotate your novels, i have not seen many readers who do this and what exactly will you be highlighting
Crazy about books? Immersive Translate is a great ebook translator. It translates not only books, but also webpages and PDF files. It’s a great tool to have around if you’re an avid reader like myself.
Omg I noticed you have a dark mark on a finger nail. Is that permanent? I ask because I have something like that on my nail. My mother told me I was a naughty child and I used to use markers to draw on my nails because she didn't let me use nail polish and now it's stuck. I always thought that was weird coz why wouldn't it be on all my nails...
I don’t think my brain could process the difference in the season changes in correlation to the months. Has this ever been an issue for you? Or have you always lived in Southern Australia, so it’s normal to you.
