Pretty sure he also wrote Arthur's journal in RDR2 or at least co-wrote. parts of that journal almost brought me to tears playing that game. A real sad loss of personality and talent for the company for sure
Tbh he wasn't that funny, at least not in gta 5, he was more whiney than anything, also it isn't like they won't add the same type of stations without him
GTA 6's script definitely finished before he left. So he'll likely still appear in GTA 6 through radio or physical appearance. Only GTA content afterwards won't feature him again
@@MJH129 I hope your right. GTA needs characters like Lazlow: Funny and memorable at the same time. Not to mention the fact that Lazlow has been on the franchise since GTA III.
Why am I only hearing about this now. That really sucks I loved lazlow for all the great job he has done with GTA franchise. Well I hope he is happy though.
2d is the top down while 3d is gta 3 to vcs. HD is gta 4 to current. He started with gta 3 and hes not the only one that's existed in both universes Fernando also has a segment in multiple games
I like how Lazlow is almost the main character of GTA in that the series seems to follow him around the country to wherever he can find work in any era
A few years ago if you told me gta 6 was available for pre-order wouldn't be able to finish the sentence before I pre-ordered it but now I don't think I will buy it till months after releasing it
I remember when Lazlow was a frequent guest on Opie and Anthony and promoted GTA, so much so that Opie, Jim Norton and even Bill Burr (the Lost DLC) got voice roles in GTA IV
Patrice too, he's in 4 on the radio. So much of what made GTA great can be attributed to Laz and his friends. Without him, the games will only get worse.
The divorce part around 29 minutes sounds like Anthony Cumia and the interviewing people on the streets sounds like a mix of the walkover and post-firing Opie.
Integrity 2.0 is one of the best things in media history, I use to turn that on and listen to it for hours while cleaning my room and doing homework in highschool
I’d like to think Lazlow was able to record some stuff for the next GTA before he left the company and will have a canonical farewell to the airwaves that’s not a death.
I was thinking the same thing. I like how Opie and Anthony did voice’s for some gta and red dead redemption characters and I think Patrice O’Neal was a radio guy for gta 4
@@No-right-to-take bobby Kelly was in it Steve c was a cop the o and a show was prominent in rockstar games for a while there. The funniest thing to me is Lazlow never really got to the things he came into talk about because they had such A.D.D as a show they always were distracted I think I heard him actually get his stuff in one time 😂
I thought this would be about the real man's criminal history and I was so worried lol. I hope he's doing alright, I loved his contributions to the series.
You already know GTA VI online mode will be monetized hellscape. Oh you have a 5 star wanted level? Pay $10 to reduce it by 2 stars...Rockstar and Take 2 will absolutely destroy our rectums and our wallets
WCTR was easilly the most entertaining radio of all time in GTA history, I loved all the nonsense and bizarre interactions between the characters, anything could happen in that Radio.
I wonder what the devs have in store for Lazlow. Would be amazing if they have him back as a guest radio DJ. Maybe have him on the eazy litsening/Power Ballad station Emotion 98.3 (I heard he is really into that kind of music IRL). Crazy to think that Lazlow is old enough to be a grandfather.
@@br9663 I'm not commenting on laslo or his bits, I'm just talking about the general hype I'm seeing for GTA 6 after rockstar spent a decade gouging people's wallets and removing content from the GTA 5
@@jankington216and the ceo saying he wanted gta to be paid to play I got a funny feeling gta 6 will be online only still have single player but you have to online to play
Love that this was just a compilation of Lazlow being a weird and creepy loser on a spiral 😂 And I'm talking the character of Lazlow, not Lazlow Jones the wonderful actor who'll be missed in GTA VI
Its a end of an era for Mr.Lazlow Jones..really sucks we wont see him in GTA 6 being that its in Vice City again the radio isn't gunna be the same without him.
When I got the double pack of Vice City and GTA 3 and then Lazlo and Fernando came on the radio doing that hilarious segment I had to pull over the in game car and laugh my guts out.
That character Lazlow is speaking to acts like she's a witch. You're thinking of Ursula from GTA V, who is a different character and is not a witch, just crazier than Trevor. Either way, there's too little information on Ursula to justify Guiness making a video about her.
All the OG devs / writers are leaving R*. GTA VI was probably the last game they’ll all worked on together minus 1 or 2 people. Let’s hope the next generation of R* talent can live up to their expectations.
I think you're looking at it wrong. The reason these people left isn't because they are retiring or something. There was obviously a disagreement that went on and I think the disagreement is also obvious. The tone of gta. Everyone who left is who wanted gta to stay the same. This is a amy hennig situation same way Neil drukman pushed her out is the same way take two pushed Dan and lazlow and the others out.
GTA's satire is no longer funny because it's identical to the real world. Any satire they attempted to do now would have to be so outrageous now that it would lose its edge. I'm curious to see how this will affect GTA VI.
were just generally exposed to the weirder people of the world now because of the internet. there was a time when people first were discovering furries and assumed humanity couldnt get any weirder than gay people in mascot costumes. now were at the point where someone swallowing rocks and snorting MSG would be considered "just participating in another average viral health trend," Back in the day radio was also relevant, and so playing the game and listening to the wackiness of the world was kinda... real? like Howard stern, O&A, and the likes had gangs of societal outcasts who they'd have on just to gawk and mock at: the fringe of society, and that added some edge. But now media, and ESPECIALLY radio is just... corpo nonsense. every second is pre-planned and designed to be all about selling a product or inducing a pity laugh, or just filling time with backing tracks and stingers before the ad plays. It really feels like GTA4 had the last believable era of radio personalities: the era when the shock-jock format was falling to the wayside... when society was naive enough to think an autistic dude getting drunk was the most outrageous thing that would ever be broadcast. Now thats just nightly news. I guess if they wanna be edgy? satirize how banal it is and wink at the fact that all the "important" stories are just there to arbitrarily debate and pretend its politics. "president x weighed in on the migration habits of seagulls today, saying that his opponent, candidate y's view on bird migration habits are __ist propaganda"
I have a hunch there'll be more nods to capitalist realism (Mark Fisher) because the devs themselves said, not too long after V's release, "we don't exactly know how or what to satirize at the moment". The ways I've seen people get around this hurdle is by just ardently pointing out the dissonance between the hellscape we live in and the corporatism that whips our reigns and tells us to be happy despite it. What today is more absurd than a mass of people being able to point and deconstruct every social ill, yet the ills persist because we're "too interlocked" with them?
I think the closest thing we can get now is to not see it as satire and more as a seperate world where everybody is just cynical enough to say the quiet part out loud
@@s0urp0wer5 Uh, no, just because you want ONE of your stories to have a darker tone does not mean you want every story you ever write to have that tone, forever and ever. That's not how writing works.
Great content, ive been playing gta since london and i grew up listening to lazlow over the series and to see his history is fantastic, bring back memories of playing as tommy, claude,cj and nico and is what makes gta a masterpiece in its own way. bravo sir! would love to see more on Gay Tony , Fernando and Kent Paul
If you can find it, listen to the Lazlow Show. From approx. 2005-2011 it was on terrestrial and satellite radio. There were only about 35 episodes and they were perfect. I’m sure you can torrent the box set somewhere. RIP Big Wayne. Reed is gay.
Kinda cool they eventually turned him to a real character.. even if he was portrayed in a pathetically hilarious character lol... I have a feeling gta6 & beyond will seem empty with him gone from Rockstar (as well as the others that left. Like benzies)
Just to note, in your beginning message you repeatedly use 'cannon'. The correct usage is canon. Cannon is a big boom stick, canon is the body of church law, particularly the parts about which potential books of the bible were divinely inspired and hence 'real' (for the purposes of the church). Different canons, like the books catholics consider canon but protestants dont, is viewed as analogous to deciding which stories are 'real' for the purposes of the franchise.
It'll be cool if you could do a Biography about our GTA Online character. Kinda like q recap about meeting Lamar all the way to the Mercenaries thingy. Exposing his/hers various crimes, contacts, achievements and possible fate.
Reddick Florida is a real town but it's super small and really poor, it's never had a radio station. I went to elementary school there and my last job used to rent the community center for annual safety training. The town is so small and off the radar I'm suprised anyone ever even mentioned it.
My first gta was gta advanced. Hearing and then seeing each character that interacted with Lazlo end up as a character was always so cool to me as a kid, even in gta v where you see so many of them from gta III, VC and others- despite rockstar saying that the 3d universe is not related. You can still have the references which is always nostalgic to me
This has to say something about rockstar. They made a lot of open world games with a main storyline in each of those games, and we get a 1 hour long video talking about a minor part of the franchise. This is amazing and I love it
True that the stuff Lazlow do is minor but still go to Prison for most of them. [ Anyway ] Lazlow probably living in some Motel like Jack Howitzer in Sandy Shore still being a creep & working in some dive bar as a janitor.
if you listen to norm MacDonald on the Dennis miller show, you can hear a lot of Lazlow Dennis miller. makes me wonder if they based Lazlow off a young Dennis Miller kind of.
