Our family in Kenya has always grown pineapples started with my Grandmother. Everyone used to go buy it from her farm. Nowadays the whole community grows it and we have been petitioning for a processing factory to be built. Beautiful farm there in GH.

That was one of the best videos so far. It was very interesting to see the behind of a story and a whole day of work. We can hardly imagine how much time you spend on what. I d have liked to see the editing process too and some insights what Maya wants to achieve when he is editing.i It was very cool to see the couple dynamic too. Thanks a lot

nurses from Africa move to european countries for a better pay but the cost of living in the western world takes it all..in comparison the salary in their home countries plus bills remains almost the same after sorting bills sadly...

Ok. Trudy, about the nurses living to the west, the problem is that in most African countries the majority of these healthcare services and teachers are employed by the government. However, in the west, private people own these hospitals. And as for the schools , teachers(USA) are being paid by the taxes of homeowners . These homeowners pay taxes to the township. That is why every child goes to a school in their district except for when they go to private where they pay out of pocket after their parents pay the township taxes. These township taxes are paid whether you have a child or not. So you see how teachers for example can earn more reasonably than in Africa where the government does everything . So the suggestion is that there should be more private investment in these fields and the more competitive it is the better condition of service will be.

There is a factory i saw on business insider making soap from pineapple waste they get from a pineapple farm. A great business idea for someone interested .

I love these two and no one will ever tell me otherwise. They both showed up when most of us were hungry for our own stories, when all mainstream media depicted Africa in only one way. As an OG of TruMaya I remember those beginnings when we could watch a video over and over for them to get paid and also reformulate the algorithm for the right audience (Tru had like 500 followers Maya 2700 or so when I started watching them). They didn't even know each other! These 2 started a movement so powerful that the many stories of Africa are being told by Africans themselves. Such a breadth of fresh air! There is a specific pineapple known as yhe Black pineapple that is grown in the island of Antigua in the Eastern Caribbean and I was told it is the best.Who knows perhaps it is grown there as well.
