Burke Virginia is located in Fairfax County. There are many families living there who need to get in to Washington DC or Alexandria VA for work. Making the approximately 1 hour ride to Union Station is a whole lot nicer than trying to fight the Beltway traffic and finding a place to park. The Virginia Railway Express built a large station and car parking structure that they call Burke Centre. Weekdays are quite busy with VRE, Amtrak and Norfolk Southern trains, especially early morning and late afternoon. I spent a day and another hour or so the next AM videoing trains at and around the station. October is a great time to visit the area for colors and pleasant temperatures.
