Neev Elementary Programme (Age 6 - 12 years)
The elementary curriculum visualized by Dr. Montessori is referred to as Cosmic Education. The five Great Stories set the stage for the Cosmic Education. The stories deal with the:
Creation of the universe
Coming of life on earth
Coming of human beings
Development of language
Development of numbers
In this manner all the Science and social science subjects such as biology, chemistry, mathematics, economics, language, art, culture, geography, history and physics, are not broken down into separate subject matters, but totally integrated into the curriculum.
Key concepts in various subjects are introduced through stories, songs, art, material manipulation, experiments and research to help children gain rich inner experiences that help them grasp the core concept. Field trips form a very important component of the Elementary programme
Variety of handwork help children experience that their hands are an extension of their mind. What they think in their mind, they can create with their hands.
A meticulously planned play area offers many opportunities for physical challenges. Uninterrupted free play enhances cognitive skills (planning, organising, sequencing, regulating) that are necessary for executive functions in daily life.
At Neev the primary objective is to ensure a holistic development of the child by enriching their head, heart and hand and to instill a positive attitude towards learning.
