anyone going to Galle Fort HAS to visit the pedlars in! Great food, AMAZING milkshakes. Owner is lovely and the staff are all around a great bunch.

Love your video. I first went to Galle in 1970 and knew it was a special place in Sri Lanka. Jaffna Fort has the potential to get back to its former glory too

It’s a nice place to visit. Praying for the Christians in Sri Lanka. Btw, Fort Santiago (est. 1590) in Manila is the oldest fort in Asia built by the Spaniards. The walled citadel of Manila (Intramuros) was completed in the late 1500s.

As per the Wikipedia, the Galle Fort was established in 1588 and Fort Santiago was in 1593.

Fort Santiago was started in 1571 when the Spanish took over Manila and had to protect themselves from the natives and Chinese in the city.

@@avid580 Portuguese have arrived to the country in 1505 to Galle port and they have constructed a fort in small scale, even at that times. Probably both forts have paralleled historical significance.
