Interesting you always have the miller for DL. Most of the ET intubations in the hospital I’ve seen is with a glide scope I’m a medic that became an ICU nurse now getting ready to apply to CRNA. Keep up the work

I only use a video laryngoscope if it's a true difficult airway. 95% of the time I use a Miller 2.

I've never heard of calling anesthesia for difficult IVs...
@BoltCRNA
@BoltCRNA 3 года назад
I never did as an RN either. Found out real quick as an anesthesia provider many others do.

Did you have to use an ultra sound to get the difficult iv?
@BoltCRNA
@BoltCRNA 3 года назад
I didn’t this time but many times I do use ultrasound and longer IV catheters.

How did you become the difficult Iv person? How did you learn to get good at them? What are some techniques ?
@BoltCRNA

Great questions. I’ll have to do a vid to answer all that. There seems to be a lot of interest.

Are there night shift CRNAs? Do you have difficulty to "leave work" at work?
@BoltCRNA
@BoltCRNA 3 года назад
No such thing as being “night shift” but if you enjoy working on call and overnight plenty of people will offload their share onto you.

Do you take melatonin to help you sleep after work?
@BoltCRNA
@BoltCRNA 3 года назад
I used to do that as a night shift ICU nurse. Now I usually just crash for a few hours after a call shift and then get up because I'll need to sleep that night.

Is it common for nurse anesthesiologist to work on call? Is it difficult to pursue a career with a company that does not require call?
@BoltCRNA
@BoltCRNA 2 года назад
It is common to be on call. If not being on call is important to you it's possible to find positions that don't require it.
