Hi guys!
So if anyone tell you NYFW is relaxing it’s a LIE! The truth about NYFW is that it is unpredictable, stressful, & extremely hectic… but within all the craziness you find opportunities to connect with friends who live in other countries, walk in shows by inspiring designers, and if you’re lucky enough you get to experience fashion shows from both sides! This week was full of castings, fittings, events, and shows. I haven’t been this social in a long time and even though I feel like I’m catching a cold, I would totally do it all over again! Oh, I was talking to a friend about modeling and we started talking about making a video about all the different parts of the modeling process. If you guys want us to show you what goes on at castings, what a test shoot is like, and maybe how some of our friends from the industry got into the modeling industry, let me know in the comments below.
Today’s videos is very special to me! I have been modeling for Ralph Lauren ever since I started my career in New York City. I think I’ve done ten straight shows, but for the first time I was able to attend one of Ralph’s shows. Do you guys remember the last show Ralph’s Cafe that I walked in? This theme was very different, this time it was Ralph’s Club, and this year I was finally able experience the Ralph Lauren runway from the other side. The collected was inspired by tuxedo dressing for women and when I saw Gigi open the show and walk the runway I started to appreciate the runway in a completely different way. I vlogged as much from the fitting, grwm, walking the red-carpet, to the entire experience at the show where Janelle Monáe performed.
I’m really excited to share all my New York Fashion Week content with you guys. I’ve put a lot of time into capturing different shots and I can’t wait to start sharing new wellness content. I feel like it was a long summer and for some reason this year it took me a little longer to get back into the rhythm of things. I think getting sick on my trip had something to do with that so guys make sure you’re taking care of yourself. Hydrate properly, eat healthy (meal prep - making a new video on this to share with you), and try your best to get the right amount of rest you need! I’ll be in Paris for Fashion Week so let’s maybe meet up with some of my friends while we are all there!
