A day in the life at Yokohama Design College!
Thanks to everyone at Boomer's school for letting me barge in for a day! :D ...and to Boomer for doing all the groundwork in the first place. Congrats on graduating!

Hi! My name is Loretta, a girl from the U.S. who moved to Japan! I'm here on the MEXT scholarship program as a graduate student, studying to get a Masters in Business Administration. Here are some answers to common questions:
1. Do I Speak Japanese? Yep! I was taught formally in High School and have been speaking now for over 15 years.
2. What are you studying? I'm a recent grad of Yokohama National University's "Masters of Business Administration" Program
3. How old are you?: Year of the dragon. :D The math is up to you.
4. How did you get into Japanese school?: tinyurl.com/yb8...
5. What camera equipment do you use?: I film my videos with a Canon 60D using a 30mm Sigma Art Lens and I edit with Sony Vegas Pro 10 (with some help from photoshop). Additional cameras include GoPro Hero 7 Black and DJI Majic Air

oh my god, I thought the school building looked familiar!! I had to check the info of the video. This is my old school! I went to japanese language course for 1 year in 2017-2018 at Yokohama design college. I took the manga course, and some design course where we had to paint porcelain bowls. I also tried voice acting for 1 day or something, it was fun :) Edit: Oh my god... its so nice to see the school and the teachers again.. ;; Sakuma-sensei was our class's main teacher. She was so sweet

@@farahm7801 tbh I cant really remember, I saved the first half year by myself. The next half I had to borrow because everything was much more expensive than I had calculated :( Anyway around 400.000 yen for half a year. That's without expenses like food etc. And they also charge you for the bedding in the dorm. It was around 9000 yen. Such things came unexpected for me >< There's a link here: www.jpn.ydc.ac.jp/eng/jpncourse/applicant_c

Props to both the teacher and students in that Anime Voice Acting class for all their positive attitudes and efforts 👍🏽. As a visual learner I often watch how native speakers form their mouths when saying phrases as much as I am listening to what is being said. Also, facial cues are very helpful to me. So, having to learn how to imitate sounds of varying dialects and be anime level expressive while wearing a mask would be difficult for me 😥. Glad to see everyone is taking safety precautions however. I hope everyones' lessons continue to go well 🙂.

Omggggggg this is so awesome! Kansai-ben 💜 My Kansai-ben has VASTLY improved since living here. I'm naturally a sopranist so I often bother some of my pals with my *お嬢様* *Points to imaginary pearl earrings* 「なん💃ぼや🎶と🙃思う」*breathy giggle* It's hard to relate the rhythm and pitch via text but hopefully that and my picture communicate the comedy 😂 Also very excited for you! Boomer completed 4-year university, moved here and attended YDC for 2 years as a language school student (not the design school or degree). You don't have to but most students have already gone to 4-year university before coming to YDC, or plan to go after this course.
