Aren't u guys gonna talk about the housekeeping and restaurant service team? They do the real work dude. They don't even have time to chill behind the desk.
In my 6 years in the Hotel Industry, I believe everything they are showing is as true as the existence of Unicorns and Leprechauns. Everyday is excruciating and they demand more from your job, only giving increments to people who stay beyond 12 hours but pay you only for 9 hrs. Hear it from me ...I'm working in a 5 star Reputed Hotel and started my career in Front Office. All of this is hogwash. Whenever you raise a voice, you are continuously told that you are replaceable and that they could fill the same position by someone else who are ready to work for less money and even put in 12-14 hours a day...! So, do explain how the person will feel about this..? There is always an 'In' time but no 'Out' time. Hotel Industry Sucks balls in India and I'm already looking out for a change in industry for them crushing my dreams of travelling and visiting other cities and also the world as this does not exist. Though it is informed that internal transfers to another country is involved but the HR's and the management end up playing games in order to retain you back and that too without any change in salary. You send your resumes everywhere but end up getting no response. At least when you send resumes outside India, they end up replying within a week or two, but nothing happens here within. Salary negotiation is another game, you ask an increment of 15-20% which is just between 4-5k and they look at you as if you've just committed a murder. This is not USA, where if you try to raise your voice against them or try to file a case against them that people will come to your support. Instead, the management will try to blackmail others on the behest of their job security in case anyone does so... We are treated like commodities and not like humans. Hotel Industry in India is now what it was 20-30 years ago and 20-30 years from now, I'm sure it will remain the same.
Hotel industry is terrible overall. Managed hotels for four years and left and will never, ever, ever, look back. If you're capable of being a hotel manager, you're bound to found another company/industry that'll treat you like gold. I've never been more appreciative in my life now.
Right bro//sallry range is same what was in 2010/belonging this industry I feel ashamed even for other people it's a bed of roses//this life has been ruined because of this industry//not me out of 100 ,95 people are unsatisfied//average person can't grow in this industry/fuck offff
I actually LOVE this video, I work as hat hotel management student and its all about passion, loving going to work and the big hotel family! Happy Employees means happy guests! Thats what its all about! The money does get in all alone :)
i used to work in hotel actually, just learned so many things, becomming a receptionist is not easy thing, but i learned good manner how to deal with customers, its special job, not same like other jobs, its very different sometimes, but not happy actually, sometimes the level of stress is very high out of complains
Seriously, just one look at the salary and it puts people off. Unless there are those seriously passionate about the industry and/or have a stable financial backing in the family, this kind of income is not sustainable in the long run.
True. I work at an international five star hotel with a salary of 200 a month. But as a receptionist, I get into a lot of trouble with payments and sometimes have my salary deducted. :/
Erm... im in hotel line also.. its very hectic, long hours with stressful environment... Not to mention the pay? Never trust this video if you just want to start hotelier life.. get ready to sacrifice time, holiday and back breaking work... On the good side, this industry is in desperate for worker and employment is almost certain because the turnover rate is extremely high..
Im worked in hotel as front desk staff, its very stressful cause responsible is all on your shoulder. You need to handle guest complaint, eventhough its not front desk fault. Imagine if the food is not good or restaurant crew have problem with guest, they complaint to front desk. Also, if housekeeping not properly clean the room eventhough in the system its already clean, guest will come to front desk and scolding, thrash talk to us front desk staff. Sometime back of the house staff like sales, account always want to take advantage to front desk staff. You need a strong mental to work as front desk in hotel.
You guys are seriously jokes. Stop spending money and effort on developing these frameworks/poorly done ads and raise salaries for a change. Can't you people up in the ivory towers see that low wages are indeed the biggest deterrent to new entrants? Not lack of information, not lack of frameworks. These don't pay the bills.
Minimum wage proven to kill jobs. If your wages arent worth your labor you get fired and someone else gets lumped with more responsibilities. I have seen this happen in one instance.
The hotel industry is brutal. If you are not willing to sacrifice everything you will never move up. I am currently an Assistant General Manager at a Marriott property. The pay is definitely good. I make just as much if not more than my peers who graduated with other bachelors degrees. It’s easy to get burned out working a lot of hours. That’s why I plan to ultimately start my own Air BNB empire after 5-10 more years and retire from the industry well at least working for someone else.
I have work in restaurant industry, and i rather so much more hospitality industry, everything is more professional, it is complicated, but no job is perfect at 100% I love working in hotels!
agar apko feel karna hai ki hotel industries kaisa hota hai than work 1 month..but please don't work longer..tea sale kar lo cloth sale karo kisi acche place me ..but is industries ke dikhao me na awo...ye jitna bhi dikhawa hai wo jhooth hai ..hotel me work karne wale log andar se bahut marte hai ...
Script has to be more crisp and direct.. good attempt with much improvement .. camera can't keep up and transitions are at times too fast. Main lead is memorizing and delivering the lines plainly. Ending is rushed
I know that OT is common in hospitality industries. I would just like to know how overtime works in 5 star hotels. Is it considered as overtime if you work beyond 8 hours?
If you work in hotel your life will be lost 100% they show like its amazing job but in the real life slaves and no time to make ur life no freedom ,be happy what you have
I've never heard someone make english sound like another language while still speaking in english ... so is this what english sounds like to people that don't speak english???
You do realise that people in this video were all from Asian countries n they have an Asian lilt to their ennunciations, dont you?? Accept the fact that not every one can speak in neutral tone and stop being such a troll. And let me tell you something sweetheart. NO ONE I MEAN NO ONE speaks in a neutral tone anymore in todays world and everyone even you who could be from any Part of this world will be having an accent while conversing in English. And I feel pity for you ears that Cant detect English in this video cos I could clearly understand them
Guests coming down to the FD and bitching at me for something out of my control is definitely not something that “makes me excited to go to work everyday”
If it’s one thing that gets on my tits it’s having to phone a hotel up and having to repeat myself over and over again. Out of all the hotels I have phoned none of them were even british. Very rare to find them in the hotel industry. It’s astonishing.
I don't feel the real hospitality in this video. sorry guys. but it's a No. The best product the hotel can give, is number one the friendly approachable staff followed by the rest.. I've been to many hotels and yeah always came to this verdict.🙄😅
Am I the only one can really understand what he's saying. Don't worry guys . If you talking to Malay Singaporean . You can also able to understand what he speaks. It's the way they actually speak and they say it's not English, it's Singlish
the salary range is impressive!!! Duh!!!! it has not changes since i joined the industry way back in 1997. this ads is seriously poorly done and does not reflect the actual status of the industry.
Data presentation is there! But the talking need to go slower and his pronunciation needs improvements. I can't digest what he's trying to say... twisted tongue?
Great Video! Thanks! Check out a free video lesson on how to check into a hotel in English ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wyqfYJX23lg.html
Working in hotel industry in Singapore freaking sucks.Freaking low pay with maximum work load.At the end of the day all these "passion" will be lone gone after working your ass off for that peasant pay.Probably only the directors and GM earn decent to high wages!
You are thinking about industry. What about yourself. I don't think you are working in hospitality. You are just character artist in films. Any way nice acting.
Poor presentation of what one hotelier professional can show as usual daily work in a hotel. Not to mention that there is no word about f&b and hsk departments.
Baal.. Hei hotel industry m 4lakhs wasted.. N Abhi kahi ja bhi nahi skta.. Gaand faat rahi Hei.. 1thing I have learned that Hotel industry is nothing but just for name & fame.. It Sucks me..
Please don't fake the reality of the hotel industry.!!! Fuck sake, you guys just act as if it's all rainbows and unicorns !!! Guys do not blindly accept and follow the stats mentioned above. I've been in the industry for 2 years and due to high workload and more mental pressure I changed my career. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THIS INDUSTRY!!
