Hearing people sing Beatles songs in big groups like this on the street or in this case in Central Park New York, is one of the few things that always makes a grown man like me very emotional. I'm sorry to admit that. But, it's true. Beatles songs have the power to disarm people's guard and social judgement and prejudice. It's paradise.
True muscianship at its finest. This is the glue and bonding ingredient that will continue to unite the human race together: Love, friendship, music and John Lennons legacy
@@Xavier-lz7rn shut up, this is John Lennon's masterpiece and I know that Paul wrote the middle part but nobody cares, Lennon was the best Beatles by far.
I went to New York stood and sat there for a few hours watching the New Yorkers passing by and paying there respects to the guy. I am from England and will never forget the love and respect you had for him. It made me so proud.
The mystical quality of music is that every person in this crowd has a personal memory of this song. Where and when they first heard it, with whom and why it resonates with them. It's magical and unknowable!
I read the news today, oh boy About a lucky man who made the grade And though the news was rather sad Well, I just had to laugh I saw the photograph He blew his mind out in a car He didn't notice that the lights had changed A crowd of people stood and stared They'd seen his face before Nobody was really sure if he was from the House of Lords I saw a film today, oh boy The English Army had just won the war A crowd of people turned away But I just had to look Having read the book I'd love to turn you on Guitar* Woke up, fell out of bed Dragged a comb across my head Found my way downstairs and drank a cup And looking up I noticed I was late Found my coat and grabbed my hat Made the bus in seconds flat Made my way upstairs and had a smoke And everybody spoke and I went into a dream aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaa aaa aaa aaaaaaaa aaaaaaa aaa aaa aaaaaa I read the news today, oh boy Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire And though the holes were rather small They had to count them all Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall I'd love to turn you on
I've never seen a band bring so many people together in such a positive way as the Beatles have. They've truly made the world a better place on a magnificent scale. I will always ❤ The Beatles.
Been to New York City a hundred times or more and it's dirty, beautiful, Dangerous, life-affirming, overwhelming, and a place that no matter what you're looking for, hi or low or in between in New York City you'll find it!
@@sugmarichard269 YEAH!! CRINGE!!! 😂😂😂 woah bro. Paying your respects to someone who completely changed society for the better is so fucking cringy bromther 😂😂😂 I'm glad I'm not cringy bro 😂😂😎
The guy that ended Lennon's life lost the war because he thought he would end Lennon's legacy and look at this group of beautiful young people that were not even alive for a least 10 years AFTER Lennon left us singing Lennon's songs. That shows that Love and Peace won !!!!!!!!
Been there at Strawberry Fields West Central Park NYC. One of the buildings behind is the Dakota Mansion, where John lived and shot by the crazy Steve Chapman.
Great to see people together remembering John Lennon, but can't work out if some people are there to remember, or just there and have no reason why. I'd say 90% didn't know why they were there.
