Your studio seems bigger than other’s in Birks. Was the room given randomly or you need to choose for the bigger one? Btw, where did you get those wooden clothes hangers? Looks pretty nice!

I was randomly allocated the double studio! It was really just luck to be honest and the hangers are from IKEA :)

Having own little kitchen seems so isolating. I realise you won't get problems like other peoples mouldy dishes piled up in the sink or someone stealing your sausages, but I still think I'd want to share for that communal student digs vibe.

Having a studio altogether was very isolating - but it wasn't really my first option, hence why I ended up being accommodated there. Halls are much better and sharing a flat, albeit messy, is soooo much more fun.

Can anyone give me some advice? I'm going to be an exchange student at Exeter next year. I'm from Canada, is there anything I should know about the culture? Also how's the nightlife?

Congratulations! That's quite broad - the culture in UK is generally quite multifaceted so there's no inherent definition, and the nightlife is relatively quiet in comparison to that of city campuses - you can easily have a solid night out though, but most nightclubs close at around 1 or so, hope that helps! x
