Your lucky you didn't drop the trailer on the road, next time make sure the ball is literally inside the hitch and then pull the top latch down and never forget to put your safety pin

You are correct if that trailer didn’t come off in transit from the fork latch being over the ball it also has way too much tongue weight… please have someone educate you in the correct way (make sure the fork goes under that ball and claps when you close it) to hook up a trailer that could have easily killed

That trailer was not latched and could have killed somebody… learn what you are doing before you use equipment like that please. For the others on the road at least
