HAA's should get pay a lot more! Their salary is between 20,000 and 25,000 a year , that's a rip off for them, they're pretty much doing everything for this people taking care of them like babies. Very unfair to me
Andres uruguayo I’m starting to notice that..the more school = more pay = less work lol.. but from the looks of this i can tell it beats workin in a warehouse I’m thinking of medical trade school programs . And this pays about the same as a warehouse with less work? I was working 50-60 hr weeks for about 3 years at United cold storage Slave away to see 1,510$ every 2 weeks
Compassion is the word, I remember when I started my first day, the carer I was working with, told me that I was not allowed to talk to the customer and I was like daaa......she is human and it could have been me in that chair and I'd wish that someone caring for me to talk me🤔......so I kept doing what I thought it was right to be done. After few days the other carer started copying my style and that was nice to see because the customer become more cheerful and helpful in everything......treat them the way you would wish to be treated if you were in their shoes 💞💞💞
HHA's don't take care of the client's pets or anyone else in the home. Only the assigned client is who you take care of and nothing more than that. You follow the care plan for the client and that's it.
Tama McIntosh I wish this was true. One of my clients always ask me to go play the lottery for her and to check what it was smh so annoying and wants a maid not an aide. Someone to keep her house clean but not her body smh so sad
They make it look easy for whatever agency they at because i do home health aid in new york city and honey some of these patients get nasty with you and lie on you not all clients are nice to you.
This is Embarrassing to pay someone that cooks and clean an elderly person home, as well as wash them cleaning shit changing diapers. To have them drive home to home for $10 hr in some states, that not enough money to fix your car, at least in NYC they went on strike and got more money and better benefits.
I've been a CNA for 16 years and I have been thinking about going to home health care. I enjoy my work but I am honestly burn out on nursing homes and the rat race of taking care of twenty people. I have arthritis in both of my knees now and I can't keep up with the running that is required in ltc. I think home health would be a lot easier on my body and it's slower paced. I would love to give care and help an elderly person out around their home. I would also like to get home at a decent hour instead of late at night like I've had to do so much over the years. the more I think about home health the more I want to do it.
lynn edwards I'm 28 and I've successfully ran a marathon but my job as a male cna for the past nearly 8 yrs at a long term care facility is causing a constant feelings of fatigue and burn out. I'm curious about turning to home health although my facility has taken care of the laundry and cooking services in the past causing some feelings of hesitation. Anyone else in a similar situation?
Fuck that!!! I've worked at nursing homes and in home and let me tell y'all!!!! Working in home is way less stressful and you work the hrs thats convenient for you.some nursing homes or hospitals may pay more but for the most part CNAs are paid along the same lines. Now i will give you this little tip, work for an agency thats high ranked and has PLENTY of client's to go around so your never going without a paycheck💰💰..or in other words waiting for a client to care ❤for...I say give it a try😁 you can always go bk to a facility if you dont like working one on one because we ALL know they stay under staff
You can always hire people to do the work for you and also buy a home to bring in your own seniors citizens who are in need of care. It doesn't have to be a huge amount... 4 - 6 seniors.
Gratuity 'Tip' Tucci practice makes perfect. Look up somple meals you can prepare on RU-vid and practice at home then you can make it for your clients. Older people appreciate the little things usually.
@@starr6850 you have to feed their animals if you are with them long shifts etc, my sister is a home health aide and she does pets too. So do the people in this video. Clearly you weren’t doing enough
I’am interested in the home health aide career. Maybe nursing homes too but I just don’t know where to start to begin. I think googling places and calling around can be a good start and taking notes down as I call around can help me. I’am also not CNA certified yet. And don’t know if I have to be.
I got a job as a home care aide a week ago, I just put myself out there and the place I asked needed more caregivers, so they hired me, even with no experience. I just finished training and if this turns out to be something I like, then maybe I'll go to school to get my CNA
I’m a therapist at a home for elderly and memory impaired adults- THE AIDES WORK LIKE SLAVES!! It’s wayyyy too much work for minimum wage. Work at a tanning salon. It’s not back breaking and you’ll get much more respect. Aides are a thankless job.
Ok that is a good nice thing you do when you go feed their pets or what ever but I don’t think 🤔 home health providers jobs are to take care of animals it’s to take care of the people that can’t take care of them selves but I would help them anyways with their pets but we don’t have to 🙄
Oh my gosh, where are you located? The home health aides for my mother just talk on the phone and sleep. When I complain the response is their back hurts.
It’s not what it seems you go to some clients homes and all they expect you to do is mop their floor clean their bathroom mostly your doing is cleaning I prefer working in the hospital or a nursing home sometimes there are very nice clients don’t get me wrong but sometimes you get clients that don’t fully understand the job they can jump into conclusions like most of the time some of them will ask me if I ever went to school do I have an education which is kind of disrespectful so HHA is not what it all seem to be if I knew more about this job I wouldn’t do it so please do your research before getting into it this HHA job its not for everyone 😢and you don’t get paid well
U ain’t never lied. I was doing live in care and the family friend asked did I go to school for this. The client herself told me I must not like cooking for her and I said maybe I should quit and she told me “well if it’s not rewarding” like lady I’m here to help ya old a** and told me sometimes she under estimate the aides and also that when she gets better then she can fire me. I told her she isn’t supposed to walk away without me and she goes, well what are u gonna do,write it down? Smh! Just sad. Disrespectful And just rude. I left her after 9 months of live in work and she cried when I left I couldn’t careless after all those rude comments 🤷🏻♀️
@@shawny979I agree. I have a new client and her family left their cups on the table after dinner and went home and left dishes in dishwasher for me to put away that they all used. And a pot in the sink they used. I heard the family saying I keep things clean and it’s good to have a good housekeeper. Smh
Good pay but I quit cause I had ran into some bad weather one night. Tornados and mess I can’t deal with it. If I lived closer I might would have stAyed with home health. But these residents stayed way in the country.
