Looksharp staysmart we would do that in jazz bands and while our director was working with other kids(we had an ok size group) the saxophones(me included 😂)would be on their phones and using Snapchat
Had a kid in my Middle School 7th grade class never change his reed because his mom told him not to. Smh. The kid was still in 8th grade when all the rest of us were moving to Sophomore year and doing Honors auditions.
In middle school it’s like “the mile made me tired. I don’t wanna play” In high school it’s like “Wooh! Just ran the mile! I’m pumped up! Let’s do this!”
Grace Gittinger Whenever one of us trombonists goes to “eighth position” my director writes our name on the board under a special heading called eighth position club.
Excellent.. I would add "Can I do homework today" kid, "I need a reed" kid, "my slide doesn't move" kid and "I don't know where my music is" drummer. My personal favorite "awkwardly leave instrument on chair so it gets knocked onto the floor and broken" kid.
Jonathan Cole I totally understand where you're coming from, in my band we had kids like this. One kid out there trumpet on a chant and it fell off and the mouth piece got stuck and we had another time when two kids put a water bottle in either the baritone or the tuba and they couldn't get it out 🤦🏼♀️ and our bind director was not pleased
*cough cough* the new tuba/baritone players that put the instrument on their chair instead of on the bell when they get up -- im a new tubs player and i would never try to put it on my chair
My teachers cuts us off mid song to show us this video. We all crowd around his phone watching the video, As We yell out the names of the people who do that! Thank you so much for making band class more exciting!
one of the band moms posted this on facebook and i was thinking, “thank god we’re not in MS anymore ahaha” before realizing this is still what hs band is like
From what I've gathered is that many middle school band directors probably would want to teach high school of they weren't required to do marching band. So, if there were no marching band would we even have middle school band directors?
oh my goooood, my tuba has been decimated multiple times by other kids thinking it’s a basketball hoop for random objects, on the plus side my tuba gets bi monthly repairs and i never have to pay
This man is also the codirector of my high school band and he’s so funny. He’s like this in class. Today for May fest we got two new songs and one of them was one day more from les mis and he showed us a video of him singing all of the parts. He’s a great director 😂😂
Thanks RU-vid to recommendations. After playing trumpet for 9 years and having started back when I was in grade school, this hits home. "CaN yOu ReMoVe My MoUtHpIeCe?"
Percussion section: teacher what’s a guiro? There’s only one mallet We don’t have a ____ Who’s playing the snare this time Do we really need the (insert unnecessary instrument) Wait don’t start! I’m still tuning the timpani! Wait so this section is tiki ta ta tiki tiki ta tiki ? We can’t find our music Can’t forget that moment when percussion messes up and the whole ensemble turns their heads and just stares 😂🙄
N Aligawesa our person was playing mallets and he has a solo in our Christmas song and he was going so fast compared to the tempo and it screwed us up when we started playing
Cheezit We only have two percussionists (including me) and the other person does not listen to everyone else nor does he watch the conductor. This means that we (the whole band) all learned to tune him out while we all play
Shannon Lynne band kids don't really know how to share stands you are 💯% accurate I know this because I am that kid, I also don't like sharing music so when we would have a performance the person I always sit next to and I would share the stand and music and with time he learned that we just use my music because mine is always neater and I write things on mine lol 😂
Omd at the end where the trombone slide fell out reminded me of when at a marching competition one of our trombone players had to get on top of one of the props but while he was climbing the prop his slide fell out and landed on the ground but it was too late to get it so he just pretended to play the music and prayed that no one would notice
2:33 BUT SOMEBODY ACTUALLY TOOK MY DRUMSTICK ON FRIDAY! I put them both on a stand at the start of rehearsal, went over to the mallets for warm-ups, and when I got back there was only 1 there! I found it by the end of rehearsal, on a table for the auxillary stuff I am NOWHERE near.
Vesnake 11 that happens to me all the time! I’m a short girl who is in percussion with 5 tall guys, the guys always like to steal my sticks and hold them over my head, hide them, or put them in shelves that I can’t reach, it’s stressful
I have no clue why this popped up in my recommended videos, but I’m very glad it did. I’ve never been in band but I’ve been in choir and a lot of this happened in middle school so I relate😂😂
