i now see that i was always a minimalist. i wear the same crap everyday. i dont buy much stuff. i eat the same thing everyday. i live simply. but im just not sexy like matt is 😕 so it doesn't look good on camera. my minimalist lifestyle looks-boring af?
@عبدالله أحمد العتيبي exactly brother. I am slowly getting back to Allah. I put so much effort to that things which is never back me back anytime meaningful. I screenshot your comment so that I can remind myself what I am and where I should lead myself.
@hamzagmail That's true also. I like the idea of putting consumerism and ecologically unclean behaviours and products behind me. Still, wiping a clear surface is a lot easier than having to pick up dozens of knick-knacks like I used to! 😂
@@alvaalfredsson2004 this is about physical possessions mostly. However, it still applies. You can technically get attached to anything. Perhaps you get to a point where you feel it becomes crucial to your persona and then it's a problem
Successful people don't become that way overnight, what most people see at a glance wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life.
That's why we need to plan ourselves making extras in all we do because depending on paycheck that can give us our comfort and peace till we die is not guaranteed
I'm a nurse and I saw all this coming, so I've planned myself so I engaged in forex trading, little I know about the business though but so far so good, Forex trading has been my very means of savings lately while my salary goes for bills and utilities
Despite the huge drop in crypto and fx, I still make good withdrawals. I don't believe that profit making is not possible despite the drop in stocks when you got good mentorship
Depends on how broke I was, I ate different food when in college Moderate broke: Stir-fried pasta or pizza slice Extremely broke: Buy a 10lb bag of potatoes and cook with salt and pepper
As a minimalist myself I can say there are different degrees of minimalism like there is with hoarding. The bottom line is we are usually very clean, organized and only have what we need. It's a beautiful, simplistic way to live. 😊
Ur a girl what do you know about minimalist life. U girls can't stay away from ur cellphone, lip gloss, back to phone, back to Instagram, movies, showing off, self esteem issues 😂😂😂😂
Astrema Simone dale! I even paused the video to show my husband. I’m like look at this guy he doesn’t believe in couches or having more than one bowel. Lol
I just did not get why people are getting mad on him because of the beginning, TBH, I live myself like him at the start of the video and I feel actually comfortable to have just *an oven, a fridge, a big wok pan, a fork, a knife, a spoon/wooden spoon, a bed and obviously my toothbrush* in my apartment hahahahah I just feel normal as anyone even feeling that all rooms are a bit more empty than it could be!
i'm so glad youtube put this on my feed, i've been watching him for around 10 minutes and this is my favorite chanel now. this guy just seems to have all his life together, he is a great role model. i think this is the kind of positivity we all need from social media.
@@gotthatfireplaylist7374 Fear me. Honestly though, these 'so we're not gonna talk about' comments just piss me off; unoriginal, cringey group mentality, just a painful reminder of how much better youtube was 5-8 years ago
@Neeko To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
Qatrunnada Hanifah if you came to America and told someone that they might look at you funny, I completely understand tho, you wouldn’t just wipe your hands to wash them
@@Hidden1000 wrong, the ancient minimalist Diogenes had nothing but a barrel for a house and a pair of hands as his built in bowl. He lived a long life and countered some of Plato's statements while doing so

Rockstar Fanboy I mean not necessarily, he would've stuck with partnering with large companies. I think he likes doing this because he can make his own content and express himself while also being able to support himself financially.
@@Black-Circle I doubt you are joking, so here we go. First of all, if one truly was a NPC there is no way one could realize it, because essentially one wasn't playing oneself. In contrast to how he lives his life, this is not true because he doesn't care about advertisements telling you what to buy nor does he care about fashion telling you what to wear. What you don't realize is that by doing for example those two things you are directly working for the state. This is because you are supporting companies that contribute to the state, again because it benefit society, the economy and so on. Regarding your last sentence, buying more things the second you get a bigger house is lifestyle creep in a nutshell.
Minimalism is only owning what you need and things you really want and love. It means you buy everything for a purpose and everything gets used. A minimalist still has hobbies and may even collect things like cars or watches, but the moment they no longer love or use those things they dispose of them. Nothing is unnecessary or goes unused.
@@bugmaster05 why do people over eat bad food and ruin their health? I think because it feels good at the moment, and not everyone is disciplined in understanding delayed gratification.
Three months ago, I included daily exercise to get in shape. So, I was glad to see exercise included as part of routine and that it's been for 10 years. Which makes since Matt seems to be in shape despite spending so much time at home.
First day of playing sims (Edit) for the ones that are reading, check my channel out. I’m working in a new video, but your boy doesn’t have the best editing software cause I do everything through my phone. By the way thank you for 135 likes!
Constantly trying to explain (not push) minimalism to my friends and they don’t get it. For me, it’s a way to reduce my anxiety. I have found that since I became a minimalist, i have less frequent panic attacks due to feeling overwhelmed and I come home to a relaxed, uncluttered environment which is so important bc it’s like an off button from the world.
When I try to explain Minimalism to people they get all defensive for some reason. I guess that means they love all their excessive crap shoved in closets, beds and storage units.🤷
Plissa Barrett i used to be an excessive person as well. I had the mindset of “what if I need this someday”. I think it takes more effort and practice to become a minimalist after becoming so accustomed to a certain lifestyle that many people today have. I do not understand the defensive point people take with you just explaining minimalism but🤷🏻♀️
But why are you trying to explain it constantly? Do they bring it up? All you have to tell them is that you like it simple and clean. Something is missing here because you are saying they dont get it. How are they not getting it? It sounds like you are pushing yourself onto them when they simply don't mind or care. So do they bring it up or hassle you about it?
My mom does that. I used to pick at her for it for years but I tried it one day and it’s actually pretty good. She just puts the cereal directly into the coffee and then just adds a little milk.
Here my life started changing. This was your first that I ever watched your channel (half of a year ago) and I changed so much in this time, you really helped me and change my perspective to everything. I'm not saying, that I am better than my friends, I'm not saying, that I have everything in order, I'm not saying, that I don't have worse days and don't burn out sometimes. I simply turned to a better version of myself, I'm happier than I was and feel more control in my life - and you started everything. Thank you.
it’s kinda ironic that you don’t waste time on social media when your audience is (probably) primarily people who are wasting their time on social media lol
According to the comments, Matt isn't a minimalist because he: owns a computer, makes coffee, owns a TV, owns a car, lives in an apartment, has a girlfriend, eats food, wears clothes, breathes.
Owns bose hesdphones, a flatscreen tv, has a ps4, list goes on... This guy isn‘t a minimalist. I saw a video about a guy who was living in his closet, because he didn’t need the rest of the house, he later sold it. That is what i call minimalism, having lots of things you don’t need and wearing the same shirt everyday is not in any way minimalistic...
Ma Broken Leg I think minimalism applies to people differently, yeah that one guy can live in a closet because he finds that he only uses that but the guy in the video uses all of those things he has or his girlfriend uses them
@@Artaxerxes. normally people who do a lot of photo or video editing use Apple products because they're typically better at that kind of thing, so it's not really that much of a stretch to think that this guy would use a lot of Apple products 😏
Artaxerxes I agree, I was on the phone to a senior apple manager (sorting my iPhone out) we got carried on talking about how much of a techie he is and how he’s always buying the latest crap.
