Me and Joshua Rawlings made this VLOG style video to show what a typical day as a missionary looks like as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Thank you Elders, for your service! I am a convert, baptized 10/20/23. I enjoy studying with the missionaries, and I love my calling at church as Communication Specialist, and our Relief Society. Heavenly Father gives us so much! Safe travels to you, and may The Lord bless you!
I loved my mission! Thank you for this video it gives the essence of the awesome people we met as missionaries but also some of the tough times like bees stinging us!
Thank you guys so much for your service! I'm nearing missionary age, and I can't wait to go on my own mission! A lot of my older priest friends are getting called on missions and I'm so jealous....
Waking up breathing breathing air and drinking water... Witnessing sunlight it's not sad... It's the richness of simplicity content peasant... Always choose the
Man, I’m not a Mormon or part of Lds church but in my small town there is a church right across where I live, always wanted to meet a missionary, or a member, I’ve always been curious of the beliefs.
@@dazeddeer7854 well thank you for watching! And thanks for your kindness. If you see a missionary, say hi to them for me. It would make their day I promise!
@@thediamondprincechristian the missionaries understand! They just want to help you come closer to Christ. If you’re nice and honest they will listen :)
I was very confused by your singing of "How firm a foundation" at the end of this video. This hymn was written in 1787 and is saying that the foundation for our faith is the Bible, and we don't need anything else---"What more can He say than to you He hath said?" (a rhetorical question, to which the answer is nothing!) The author of this hymn is saying that God has given us what we everything we need in the Bible to understand our faith. How do you understand this hymn in light of the additional scriptures your church accepts, as well as the possibility of new revelation from modern prophets? Isn't that more that God is saying?
Hey! Thanks for commenting your question. I didn’t know the history behind that hymn, thanks for sharing! In our faith we believe that God will always communicate with his children, and that revelation is ongoing. God calls prophets to teach his children, and we believe that he still calls prophets today. While we love and read from the Bible, we know that there are more sources to learn about God and Jesus Christ. Here are some scriptures we read from that mention the need for prophets and apostles, even some written after Jesus Christ’s death. (Amos 3:7, John 21:25, Ephesians 2:20, Ephesians 4:11-12) Sorry that I can’t answer your question fully, if you’d like to learn more there are local missionaries in your area that would love to talk more with you! www.comeuntochrist.org
@@jlewis8145 Thanks again for sharing! It might surprise you to know that I agree with you! Jesus Christ has already atoned for our sins and we need to accept Him. You’re absolutely correct that Christ has paid the price for each of us. We need to accept Him! A lot of times in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we put too much emphasis on what we must personally do to accept Christ rather than on emphasizing the great sacrifice that He has already made for us. We are better Christians when we remember and put the emphasis on the Savior. At the same time, Christ himself emphasizes a gospel of action. It is not enough to merely say that we accept Him without showing it. That is why we serve missions. Christ himself commands his disciples at the end of Matthew to “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.” At the end of John, Christ emphasizes the importance to feed his sheep. He taught sermons on personal conduct and gave commandments of how to live, so that we can feel His atoning grace more in our lives. James famously states that faith without works is dead. If we only focus on faith in Christ without acting like Him, we only have part of His power. By being baptized like He was and following His perfect example, we fulfill his great commission to “Follow Me.” You’re correct, Jesus paid the price for each of us. We need to acknowledge our sin and ask for His forgiveness. But we also need to take personal action to follow Him. I really appreciate your response and your respectful words. Thanks for your question!
Missionaries now use phones to keep track of messages, requests, communication, GPS, and more! It's super helpful in being able to plan out the day. Missionaries will use technology in order to share the gospel :)
Thanks for the question! We don't get paid at all for being missionaries. We actually have to pay to serve a mission, I had to save up money before leaving to pay for the living expenses like food and apartments. It's totally worth it :)
We actually don't get paid at all, we pay money in order to be sent all over the world to share something we believe in. I paid $500 monthly to share the gospel with others!
Hello!! The best way to learn more about the missionaries is to get in contact with them! Here is the website. Hopefully this helps! Www.Comeuntochrist.org
@@RobertJimenezi great question! Members of the Church usually between 18-28 can serve 2 year proselytizing missions if they have a desire to serve. They meet with their local leaders and have medical interviews and personal interviews to make sure they are mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually able to serve :)
@@graysonhardman1250 there is also doing work as a service missionary as well. I am working as a service missionary with the Temple and Family History Department. I appreciate your video. I had learned about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2002 and was about to be baptized, but life got in the way. It wasn't until 2018 that I was baptized a week after the October General Conference.
I believe your hearts are in the right place , and you got energy to spread God's word, but if only you guys didnt follow a religion that tries to add to God's word and believing in a false prophet who failed the test if you test him by scripture. Dont get lost in the religion guys , Follow Christ, follow the word of God , spread that and that only nothing outside of it, You young men have beautiful hearts , i pray for friends wjth such hearts for missionary work, but you mormons honestly no different from muslims , living like the word of God needed to be added to by your false prophets
@@kgosiking4228 Thanks for the comment. The Bible was written by prophets long ago, and we believe that prophets still exist today. They are men called of God to lead us and teach us. Jesus taught that through the spirit, we can know all things. If one prays to know whether this Church, Book of Mormon, or even Prophet is truly from God, they can know for themselves. God reveals the truth to those who willingly and sincerely seek it. I’ve found that testimony for myself, and I’ve seen others find it too.
Your main issue was that I don't test my testimony with the actual Bible. Yet, the idea that we can pray to know the truth comes directly through the Bible. (One example is James 1:5-6, not to mention when Jesus Himself teaches the idea.) Yes, other faiths have testimonies and believe different things. But in our faith, we base our testimony off of a personal experience with the Holy Ghost. Other religions simply do not believe in a personal witness. Instead, they focus on scripture or tradition. Jesus himself tells Peter that "the Holy Ghost" was what revealed unto him the truth of Christ's ministry.
@@graysonhardman1250 you used James 1:5-6 out of context , not surprising, it's about asking for wisdom , not a specific knowledge(wanting to know something specific, like if a prophet is true, that is a type of knowledge , wisdom on the other hand would make you follow the word of God that says to test that prophet in order to know, a specific knowledge and wisdom are two different things ) wisdom involves understanding and acting in accordance with God’s word in everyday life, not merely ignoring the biblical mandate to test prophets. Not ignoring the word of God, and when we ask for wisdom we should have faith that we've already received. That's what that verse is talking about , Those James verses do not exclude the fact the bible says to test prophets according to the word , using James to justify accepting a prophet without considering these tests may overlook the broader biblical directive, So no you can't just use that James verse and then ignore the test .which your prophet clearly fails so I can understand why they want you guys to ignore it and want you to use James 1:5-6 out of context and misinterpretation. and it's not even about some of his prophecies still having a chance of happening , it's the fact some had an actual time frame and they did not come to pass , and according to the word of God , not your opinion , not how you feel, he would be a false prophet, but of course you'll make excuses and use verses out of context, and say something right out of a script like they all do, which sadly makes you all ignore the word of God and rely on your feelings and misinterpreting scripture. All I can do is pray the day when you do see the truth , because there will come a day when you do, I pray that when that happens , when you leave Mormonism that it doesn't make you turn away from God but towards him , as I know you're emotionally invested in that community , but when the scales fall off I pray you have the strength and awareness to look to God of the bible and the bible only and nothing else. All love bro , I'll end it here , Take care , bye
@@HeidiRobinson-ft7vl I’ve read the Book of Mormon, studied it, and found it to be true. That is why I believe Joseph Smith is a prophet. If he was not a prophet, he could not have revealed the Word of God. If the Book of Mormon is true, he is a prophet. If the Book of Mormon is false, then he is not. I’ve read it myself and prayed, I’ve found it to be true.
@@aguirrejaimerson This accusation is simply inaccurate and means nothing. As missionaries, we invite others to learn more about God. There is no intent to rule, to oppress, to own or deceive. The invitation is to learn and be more like Christ and all can accept or reject.
@@Petar06x Just so I understand correctly, I volunteer 2 years of my life to help people learn more about Jesus Christ while performing community service and fulfilling Jesus' command in the Bible to "Make disciples of all nations"- and all I'm doing is following Satan?
If you watched the video, what you would see are two young men who devote themselves to Christ and try to share God's word with others. They provide service at a community food bank, give English classes to immigrants, and testify of Jesus. If you are a part of a different religious perspective that's fine, but to write off this missionary service as nothing but "two heretics" is just innaccurate.
@@graysonhardman1250 Correct, you're commiting blasphemy by believing that you can also become a God, how ridiculous does that sound bro :/ That's the reason why sin started in the first place, Satan wanted to become God/Like God. Please repent and quit following this satanic church, it's doing you no good and the true Lord Yahshua can truly set you free of sin, not some false prophet named Joseph Smith
@@graysonhardman1250You don't even believe in the Trinity and you believe God the father gained divinity, being a man at first? That means he's created since he's in creation. Do you believe in the big bang bro? I genuinely am so curious but these beliefs just sound goofy my brother. Please do better and pray for the true God to save you. Your dedication is truly cool to see though, it's sad that it's of a false view on the Lord :/
