I had same spring clamp for about 4/5 years was perfect never failed I did a kia ceed spring the bottom bolt snapped when compressed nearly snapped my arm and blew my head off I phoned place got it from said my dewalt half inch impact was reason for it shattering.😢I was gutted mint tools
Ah man springs are so dangerous aren’t they! I have thought about that scenario before and thought maybe I should get a. Floor standing one but like you say these tools are great.
Just bought it as a one off at the time once a few years back after getting caught out not knowing about them BMW spark plugs the first time I serviced one
Great work ckealry you are doing well, I have been in the trade myself for 23 years working on buses, lorries, trains and passanger cars. I have mainly been a contractor, but now I have bought a van and I am going mobile slightly nervous but just got to get the customers in now..
I'm really really considering moving jobs to be a mobile mechanic, ive got alot of knowledge and experience repairing cars which ive been doing as a weekend thing for the last 12 years out of my home garage, i feel like working for myself might be a better way forward for me but in your experience, what do you think of the job? are there any days you cant work because of weather etc and also, how is the money is it decent? also how do you go about getting customers is it just from adverts? top work though man enjoyed this one
I’d 100% recommend working for yourself, it has its stresses but overall you can’t beat it. Yes some heavy rainy days you have to cancel work but most customers are totally fine with that and understand. Work comes through word of mouth, repeat customers and of course some advertising.
Boss video that man, hope you do more. You made that service look simple on the BMW, made servicing look like even a car novice like me could attempt on my own car. I really enjoyed how you explained the processes on all the cars really, all the best.
I had the same issue with a Renault master had a spongey pedal, done some research and it was recommended to start from the brake reservoir then to the furthest. Brakes are solid. The Renault's are generally soft pedals.
There's a way with the wipers, switch iginion on then off and press the wiper control and the wipers stop halfway and the wiper arms under skuttle move so you get better clear access
@@kerbsidemobilemechanic landscaping not much of a trade, not everyone has money to pay for gardeners but most have cars that breaks so there is money to be made 🤣
Great video mate.been in the trade for 29 years and to be honest I hate working in garages.iv thought about going mobile whats the best olace to get car insurance for mechanics ? And do u think it's worth ago trying mobile?
What I have started doing is putting all the small bolts, clips and trim pieces along with my tools on a deep tray so they are all together, and I don't lose them. Plus it's handy to move everything around in one go when working one side of the car to the other side. Poundland does a deep roasting tray for £2 which is what I use lol. Plus I can also stick my magnetic torch to it, if there isn't anything else I can stick it to. I strongly recommend people trying this.
Right to anyone that sees this I could do with some help, I’m 17 (18 in august) just got my level 1 in mechanics and have been doing a apprenticeship since late last year. For people in the uk would you recommend staying in the trade or would you of got out if you was my age. Appreciate any replys 👍🏽👍🏽
@@kerbsidemobilemechanicstay in mate for sure, always good to have a trade and papers behind you. An Engineer myself, there are plenty of great opportunities out there, paying good money too. You can also go abroad with your skills if needed. 👍
Quick tip: If you 1/4 fill the bottle and submerge the end of the hose in the fluid in the bleeder bottle you’ll see the bubbles of air come out the hose and rise up through the fluid...great video aswell
New calipers due to snapped bleed nipples, you can carefully drill them, spray them with Plusgas, then fetch them out with a spike or small screwdriver even. I wouldn't employ this guy unless I had money to burn! Jag' calipers too, OMG!
They wasn’t that expensive actually, that other method takes time/extra labour, was discussed with customer and he opted for new callipers, hope you can now sleep easy at night
OK, well, that's logical mate & logic is always good but I've looked on ebay (which as we know is decent place to purchase parts) & XK calipers are around 50 quid each & upwards, so £100, minimum. Just wondering, as a backstreet mechanic myself, if I was offered £100 or even £80, to get two bleed nipples out, would I take it on. I think I'd say to the customer, I'll try & get one out, see how I go but if I ruin the nipple threads you'll need new calipers which'll be a hundred quid. To be honest, when I wrote the comment I'd expected Jag' calipers to be much dearer!@@kerbsidemobilemechanic
Yeah like I say we discussed options and the customer let’s say wasn’t short of money so that’s the option we went with, he’s happy with it and booked me in for further work, thanks for the comments 👍
