Hey Kim!! I work as a medical assistant on my way to becoming a PA.. When you were talking about patient meds ... I know what you mean, a lot of our providers at the clinic where I work have nurses go in with pt first to do “med reconciliation” to see what they are still taking. It makes it so much easier. Anyway, awesome content! Thank you for sharing! 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹

Mandy devers I am so pleased I have the opportunity to inform you that you could not be more wrong. As an MA, I work with PA’s, NP’s, MD’s and DO’s on a daily basis and I get to see how much each individual provider contributes to the team overall. Like Lisa said... The job outlook is at a >30% high and increasing so if I were you I’d do my research before typing such an ignorant little comment.

Idk if you’re In nursing school or not but I just imagine all of the younger nurses who are working on the unit alongside me in clinicals. These nurses have all done the same degree as I have and are now working full time. I guess what I mean is that I visualize the future and focus on the work that will be. And think about how many people have gone down the same path successfully! If they can do it then so can you.

In my opinion, there is no profession that is unattainable. If you really want something and work hard for it, then you can be ANYTHING you want to be! It may take a while and you will get overwhelmed but the best advice is to not give up on reaching your goal to become an NP. Unfortunately, I was unable to be admitted to a BSN program so I plan on going for a secondary BSN after I finish college and then I will go for my MSN. It'll almost be the length of medical school by the time I'm finished but I WILL reach my goal!

This was so helpful and super informative. I think one of my biggest dilemma with becoming and NP was that I would kind of be thrust into the position with all of it’s responsibilities without gaining all the proper training and know-how experience that comes with working in a hospital and with patients and learning more. I think I always feel more comfortable the more I know and as of now, in my current situation, I don’t feel like I know as much as I would like to know to be confident enough to give the kind of care I want to be able to give to my patients. Tell me, is it possible to work as an NP part-time like you mentioned in your video while still working as an RN to gain skills and knowledge you can then apply to being an NP?

And you know what, I am being open to learning how to love it. When I first started nursing I was slapped with the reality of how multidimensional it is. Now, in primary care, I see that is more than a general practice. Most primary care physicians play so many roles in their patient's lives and it is amazing.

Kiim Kash thanks for posting this video. As a L&D nurse I always thought I’d pursue midwifery but after being at the bedside even though I live it it’s very demanding I’m ready to explore outpatient roles in advanced practice just really intimidated by general practice...I’ve been accepted into two programs but delayed my start .. you’re motivating

Loved this video. I'm an accountant but don't see a future in this field. Strongly thinking about pursuing a career in nursing.

Nursing is such a versatile progression and there’s so many things you can do with it and advance into. I have a channel on here where I chronicle my day as a nurse practitioner and even tips to get you through FNP school. It’s definitely worth it. I personally changed my profession from social work to nursing and so glad it did!

@@holisticbeautyRN Do you think that I can start at the age of 40?
@holisticbeautyRN
@holisticbeautyRN 3 года назад
@@kimberlyshelton5167 ABSOLUTELY! I personally know many people who were in there 50s and up who where in my nursing program and changing careers and complete the legal! What’s more important is that you have the time management, organization and dedication because it’s not an easy road meaning you have a lot of studying and commitment to school but you can do it!
