@@turtlejeepjen314your vision in the water becomes extremely blurry and you only see colorful spots, that is why they use the diving glasses first to know what it is like where they will act
It takes training and buying a tail. You can join companies. But the tails can be from hundreds to thousands of dollars. So you've gotta really commit if you wanna. But like do mor research cause it does seem like a really cool job.
I live in New York and never seen anything like this before. I would be so happy to see my niece watch mermaids and sea animals in one tank she always says she's a mermaid and asks for tails all the time
You can find them at Weeki Wachee Springs in Florida, it’s on the gulf side 😊. I live about 40 minutes from there it’s definitely worth a trip for any lover of mermaids!
I remember the mermaid shows when I was little and how magical it was for me. I can't wait to bring my nephew to one. My favorites are manta rays and I got to travel to Atlanta once to see them. Started crying. Stingrays are a close 2nd for me too haha.
Ok so y’all sanitize your tails to make it safe for the other fishy’s but what about y’all’s makeup and hair products?! Genuine question and not trying to throw shade at all! I love what y’all are doing and wish I could be a mermaid! I’m just curious on the makeup products y’all use! ❤ Edit: thanks for all the ‘LIKES’ on my comment! I’ve never had so many likes before!! Y’all are amazing! 💕 THANK YOU SO MUCH!! 🫶🏽 Sending love to ALL of the beautiful Merpeople who share their magic with us every day! So THANK YOU for making the world a little more magical!! I love y’all! 🧜🏻♀️🧜🏻♂️❤️
Don't quote me on this but maybe they look into safe types or naturally made? (If those even exist...) again, not an expert but just wanted to offer a suggestion 😅
I’m not a mermaid, but I do work in aquarium management. Generally speaking the “sanitization” is just a really good rinse to ensure there are no odd production chemicals (if brand new), parasites, chlorine, and/or salt left from whatever previous swim you did. Every tank is it’s own environment so we try to keep everything secluded. Generally most makeup and hair products won’t affect the tank, so that’s less of a worry.
tbh it's about magnitude of contamination. beyond a certain threshold it's more than the tank ecosystem can bare. tbh the makeup and hair products would def be a problem if they hv heavy metals
Question where did your get your tail bag or do y have any recommendations. I've look at the ones from finfolk which I love but can't afford them. Or does any body in the comments have recommendations, it's super convenient carrying and finfolk around in a garbage bag.lol😂
My kids used to love to go to Weeki Watchi (not sure if I spelled that correctly lol). I loved taking them to Buccaneer Bay because I could literally watch my son who by the time he was 5 was tall enough for adult rides (as I recall that means he was at least 48”!) and I could watch him and still let my younger daughter have fun at the “beach area”! I still have pics of my daughter with the mermaids!
The barbs are removed from aquarium stingrays, and also he didn't intentionally swim with stingrays. The ray was buried and felt threatened when Steve accidentally fell on it, causing it to strike his heart .
I absolutely LOVE what you are doing!!! I could never perform for kids, only for adults, but swimming with those beautiful animals must be magical!!!! 😭😍😍😍
@@lynetteclauser3551For real. As soon as l heard her say that and saw the sting ray, all I could think was, "How is she not worried about getting Irwined?!" And if something happened...your main audience is children. If I saw that happen to a mermaid as a child, I don't know wtf I would do.
What happened to Steve was a freak accident and he had the potential to be saved had they not pulled the stinger out and would’ve waited for medical professionals instead.
@@lillianbartlesby6750 sting rays in captivity generally have their stinger clipped down so they aren't harnful to anyway. Plus, they're chill at fuck. Same goes for manta rays and they don't even have a stinger! They are majestic and silky smooth and i love them.
I wish I knew how to become a professional mermaide! I've always wanted to be one after I saw it broadcast in the news 8 years ago, and I hope one day I can accomplish that dream! ❤
See if there's a school near you! There are groups and some five schools that teach varying degrees of lessons on Mermaiding. Have a mermazing day and hopefully your search will end fintastically! 🧜🏻♀️💙
I love your videos, your job looks magical and tough. It's quite a sight to behold. I do recommend that you lower the music volume a bit, since you have such a soft speaking voice it tends to get drowned out by the music and get muddy. Just a suggestion! Keep on rocking on. ❤
I love seeing these kinds of things, i would also love to have a mermaid tail, but sadly, due to the fact that I'm overweight, they are more expensive, at least on the sides i found...
Where can I go to see the mermaids? I've been to the Boston aquarium and they don't have them there. My daughter loves mermaids and I would love to bring her somewhere like this.
And people wonder why I stroll down to the harbor every day. I too love sting rays. Some are quite friendly if you earn their trust. People are always reminded of how dangerous they can be but I have not found them to be dangerous. You just shouldn't be going around frightening small animals that can sting. They are really fun to feed. I just sit down on a rock that is half submerged and they will come to where the water is only about a foot deep and gently take the food I hold in my hand for them. I often bring my own meal and simply share it with them so yes I have to bring extra. When I get down to the harbor I just splash the water a certain way and half a dozen or so always swim over to say hello. One in particular loves to have her belly rubbed. The rule is patience and gentleness.
My moms best friend that we consider and uncle, aka my uncle Jack is a professional mer man and he was actually on a show because he (if I remember correctly,) is the mer man with three longest time being a professional! If you’ve ever heard of jack lauflin that’s him!
