Crazy that you lost your hearing later in life so to speak. Can't imagine how that must've felt and how you deal with it, but you clearly take it in your stride and don't let it change your life where possible!

Thank you so much for sharing your story & how you’re dealing with hearing loss. I can’t believe how strong you’ve been. You’re a superwoman! I hope you have the support & help you need from the NHS soon ❤️❤️

Hi Rachel I found your video by accident! You tube know I am deaf so I get ones that might interest me! I found your video very informative & I hope you do more hearing related video's when you get your new CROS hearing aids & If your hearing has dropped that much please push for a cochlear implant in your right ear as you have nothing to lose! Right my story which may help! I have worn hearing aids for over 30 yrs! My last audiogram showed I had a 110db loss in both ears meaning I was severe to profoundly deaf! But a couple of months ago more hearing went & I am now profoundly deaf! & I have sight issues! Plus for two weeks I have had no hearing aids as they were broken even though the audiologist said they could find nothing wrong with them! That's another story! I have NHS BTE aids! Insignia contrast SP but the audiologist is sending me out some Siemens/Signia impact DSP hearing aids! They are reconditioned & first came out 10 yrs ago! Hopefully covid permitting in the new year I will get Signia stretta UP rechargeable hearing aids & maybe talk about a cochlear implant! So at the moment I can only hear a few sounds & words & get bad hearing fatigue as you know it's hard work trying to listen! I don't sign as I have a form of dyslexia! You have had some really bad luck on the hearing front so I hope this advice will help! With your hearing loss I am surprised you have skeleton earmoulds as with your loss feedback will be a problem,I got solid silicone earmoulds I finally decided to stop my vanity from getting in the way I got blue earmoulds! But I still have boring beige hearing aids and being powerful they are bigger than the usual hearing aids! So I would suggest you get coloured full shell earmolds! Plus there are companies on Etsy & eBay that do hearing aid Jewellery that hang off the tubing, plus you can get stickers to cover the aids! They are not just for kids but for adults! If your gonna be wearing hearing aids for life jazz them up & do the same with cochlear implants! Another thing that might help make sure the audiologist gives you the thickest tubing they do as that lets more sound in to your ear & you may hear more! Even though you run a business please apply for PIP it's not means tested,I get £600 a month! Being deaf is hard! At the moment I cannot hear speech so don't know how deaf you sound! But the biggest tip I was told which came too late for me was don't leave your hearing aid out as your auditory nerve could die on you & you will be living in a silent world! You sound like a fighter so push to get assesed for a cochlear implant the NHS will only pay for one ear! But it could change your life for the better especially as that ear is has no hearing left! Feel free to ask me anything on hearing loss, and please do more hearing related video's we all want to know what happens next! I hope you & your family have a lovely Christmas! I do miss hearing Christmas carols etc and hopefully I will have hearing aids again tomorrow! Stay covid free! ❤️

@@accountantshe thank you for taking the time to reply I hope you got your new cros hearing aids & they are helping! I am finding it hard with my profound hearing loss,I got the new BTE rechargeable aids, but my brain is struggling to understand speech & lip reading is hard with masks! I would think with your loss you must now be entitled to a cochlear implant,it is a big step & won't give you back normal hearing but will help in every day life! ❤️❤️
