I am PJ, a college student at Embry Riddle and pursuing a Bachelor in Aviation Maintenance Science (AMS) with an area of concentration in business management. In this video, I will show you guys a brief day of a student who training to become an aircraft mechanic as I am preparing to get my A&P license (Airframe and Powerplant).

Study the prepware when you take your test. The questions and answers are worded differently but if you get the question you will understand the answer. Get a 90%+ before you take your test and you will get a passing grade

how’s it going. living in ny rn, i’m 17 & am interested in aeronautical engineering but deciding between Embry Riddle and Florida Tech... ughhh the weather in FL is so sick, i surf a lot, love anything to do w math & just seems so dope between the two.. ugh idk, any help lmk !!!

hhahaha DO NOT ATTEND ERAU FOR A&P - IT IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! i attended ERAU for pilot and air traffic control. pilots suck, get paid crap and the life sucks (personally) - air traffic control went to crap, so i fell into the field of maintenance!!!!! JUST GET INTO MAINTENANCE AND DO IT THE 8610-2 WAY!!! AKA EXPERIENCE. GET PAID to learn, don't PAY to "learn" - plus, all these fresh A&P's out of big bad riddle are shit as well, and very dangerous and having a license doesn't get you hired with good pay, experience does.

It is a waste of time and money to be aircraft technician , I did it for 10 YEARS AVIONICS TECHNICIAN . I regret i studied this but anyway it helps me to come to America and immediately I never get near to this ugly job. I became a post man and I am extremely happy.

I have questions about being an aircraft mechanic because thats what i want to do for my major in college. my questions are, How fun is it to be able to work with airplane engines?, what college did you go to?, does going to community college matter if you want to be an airplane mechanic? and finally do you like what you do? sorry for all the questions lol im just a very curios person :)

Hey there, I can tell you that this job definitely is a lot of fun and I truly love it! But sadly, about half of the people starting an apprenticeship as an airplane mechanic decide to do something else after finishing the apprenticeship, at least that's what I saw and heard. I don't know about how different this is in the US because I'm from Germany, but if you really like airplanes and mechanics this job might be the way to go. Good luck!

If you are a US citizen you can just apply for a trade school for becoming a&p mechanic. But going to college to become an a&p mechanic would help you when you want to move up the corporate ladder.

@@Yomanjstandbyme123 well I applied for Reedley which is a community college but it focuses around Airplane mechanics. I'm glad to hear these comments because they help alot. I also heard I would have to move contract to contract but that's just how things are. Once a job is done then they send you off. Either way I'm there and I dont consider it a job at all because I love doing it

I like airplanes. I dont have interest in research and development but in field job like manufacturing and maintenance. So are aeronautical engineers required in maintenance or only Aircraft mechanics? Also is there a significant advantage in doing aeronautical engineering before becoming an Aircraft technician?

Hello 😁, From my research, I can see that the Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) is a certification, not a degree. If I would like to study the whole degree, for example, to learn how to program a computer, I would go on the field of Computer science, there I could get my Bachelor of science, Master and even a PHD. If I would like to follow the same concept but for being a the same career as you, in what field or program would I apply for?

I have been an aircraft engineer for like 8 years but i have done hands on training and all exams but i am surprized that you are attending the uni for it are they gonna award you a degree or Faa license at the end because at the end of the day you have to get a license to certify aircrafts

Ha Pi Joe avionics purely work on electrical systems. So they are supposed to know electricity like it’s the back of your hand, so you have to be really good at reading schematics. As an aircraft mechanic we repair damages, or do preventative maintenance and inspections. Engineers make the planes.

Kiss bye bye to your holidays and weekend you will be working nights most of the time and studying for this is like/as hard as medical school and when you get out yes you will make $100k+ $55 hour top pay and fly first class for free but you will have the responsibility of a surgeon mess up once and you face a shitload of jail time hell forgetting a tool in a plane can classify as mess up and you be working in the same conditions as a construction worker and with the hours of a first responder with the craziness of the retail industry around the holidays dont forget you are in the service industry/tourism indirectly
