23 years teaching. I lay out my clothes the night before and meal prep every Sunday. It helps maintain schedules.

@@tristynm4980 remember teaching is not a job it is a lifestyle. That does not mean you forget family and self. Plan meals and prepackage snacks for the week. Maybe plan your wardrobe for the week. Set a time to STOP at work; a definate time you won't stay later. I have always made a daily/weekly to do list for the next week on Thursday. Have a good planner for notes and lists. Please journal. Daily at first for me. Reflect on the positive and negative. You will never stop improving your skills, and there is always something to learn. Find a system for kids with IEPs, 504s, in process, etc to stay on track with their accommodations. Watch some RU-vid teachers and search classroom organization.

I loved when we did that in Elementary! We did Trashcan basketball with spelling! We would split into two teams and Our teacher would get an empty trashcan and there would be two people at a time standing in front of the trashcan and our teacher would give them a word to spell and whoever spelled it first or correct would get to throw the paper ball into the trash. Then we would go over our Words at the end.😊

I'm a mom to a fourth and third grader, they are both distance learning and my son who is the third grader has the same problem of putting capital letters where they do not belong and it drives me crazy as well. I always have to remind him not to do it and my husband and I also have him practice his writing

Quizizz is great for vocabulary! I do a quizizz the day before their vocabulary test to get them ready for it :)

Let them study all week on Friday test them and do this every week until they get 100 % it worked for me

You can project your iPad full screen on the TV if you turn your iPad sideways (horizontal) so your kids can see the full page on the TV. Try it ☺️

For spelling try Words Their Way! I taught third for awhile and now I teach 6th and they still struggle with capitalization 🙃 Definitely keep helping them with that skill!

Oh, Miri! You are making MY CASE for teachers using these "cutesy" fonts in their worksheets and anchor charts that seem to blend upper and lower case letters. I always still to American Typewriter font for things I will be using for them in modeling this. Pretty clutch for third grade! As kids get older (5th, 6th), it matters less as they have already learned the rules of writing. Spelling will come. The remedy for lots of kids is more READING. Their little brains need that exposure to language. Let's face it, spell check will come into play soon enough, but if they have a love of self expression (content) in writing, you're already half way there reaching them. You're doing a fantastic job!

I'm a teacher in Canada and the first thing that shocked me was how long the school day is!! 7:35 to 4 is way too long :O our school day starts around 8:35 (some schools start 8:45) to 2:55
