FunkyBunkley 100% man!!! We all loved you! It’s been almost 4 years don’t know how his video wound up in my suggestions haha but I’ll be looking out for more videos, keep em comin🤘
Joshua Tamir Personally, It was tough but I loved every minute of it. You’re constantly tired, constantly sore and always alert/paranoid/paying attention which is a part of it. Once you’ve made it through prep and are on team you get acclimated to it all and though the PT still kills you by the time you are on a team the thing that will wash you back or out will be the technical learning and then the application of it. By then usually all the quitters are gone and you can get dialed in on really learning everything. At anytime Cadre can destroy your life so always remain on top of yourself don’t become lax. When I was at Medina the number one killer was Block two field for night navigation. If you fail any event once you can refire and if you fail again you get washed back. Generally you can only get washed back 3 times before you get washed out completely. Being on team was a lot more manageable than going thru prep mainly because Cadre would only destroy your life for little over an hour vs in prep some days it was well over three. But food was good but enough weekends were usually your own unless your team lead wanted to go over things. But you are getting paid to workout pretty much and then learning some pretty amazing skill sets. It’s hard work but you get what you put into And you will reap the rewards and or failures. Either way you learn from it. Adapt and you be better for it. It’s a brotherhood there and I’ve met life long friends. Wouldn’t trade my experience there for anything in the world.
This video really caught my attention. My father was stationed at Osan AB back during Desert Storm. Osan is also where he met my mother and where they married. I was born in Seoul on a Army base. Many years later, here I am, doing research on the TACP unit and seeing where it began. Korea has changed a lot since then. I remember seeing the one VHS tape my father filmed with his camcorder when I was only a few months old. You guys are really active, I always thought it would mostly be admin work. It's always great to see a A-10 flying by. These planes were my childhood favorite. My father would speak how amazing they sound.
Dude. No idea how the hell RU-vid crossed our paths but.... extremely thankful for it, your videos man are actually far beyond the quality I expect someone to have with these amount of subs but you actually flow them insanely good and just overall make it a great experience. THEN you add the small notion that uhh....YOUR AN ACTIVE TACP!!!!! Dude, so much absolute love for you an everything you do.!! From your local Australian 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Shaquille Nuku dang, that’s awesome to hear Shaquille. I appreciate you brotha. This quarantine has me out here finding hobbies I never thought I’d have. Much respect right back at you and Australia 🤙🏼
FunkyBunkley I appreciate the love back bro!! I hope your enjoying deployment and can’t wait for you to return to home soil to enjoy the fruits of you and all those before you. Your the reason my first 4 month old Daughter I have now can sleep at night and I’ll never be able to repay you enough homie. These videos are just an absolute bonus mate. Epic!!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
that was a good video. i'm not in the military, but was curious what your days were like while overseas. you're a good man. keep up the good work. My weapon of choice- foot stomps.
I was in Osan 09-11, lived in Hallasan. Crazy how much its changed since I was there. I saw the old paintball arena in the background there at the end but I didn't even recognize anything else.
it's interesting how you guys can just exit base (into a foreign country) really easily. Its like you guys went out to train with a local pd in the states or smth. Cool vid btw keep up the good work
That “nerd” is the most high speed nerd that I know. Guy just won his debut MMA fight with a first round TKO here in Korea. Jordan Jewel, remember the name 🤙🏼
I did maintenance on the A10 there at Osan for 2 years, just left in december. Really thinking about cross training to TACP, it would be awesome to work the other end of the mission
Retired F-4/F16 Crewchief here. I had a friend who was a TACP at Shaw back in the day. Much respect for your profession. I spent a total of almost 7 years at the Kun, 5 with a POV. Love Korea but I must say I'm surprised you're not billeted with the Army.
I'm a Viper Weapons guy, really love seeing the other end of the footage. When I was deployed we saw all the TGP footage from our jets, especially when we knew our stuff was getting controlled by a guy on the ground rather than a PrePlanned Strike. *Not going to lie here* When the video started and your alarm said 5:45 I was like "wow thats so late, maintainers on days are up at like 4 or 5 am..." then you went to workout and I went "Yea I will take the loss of 45 min of sleep over doing that... pass big pass." Keep up the awesome content!
I’ve wanted to be a TACP for a long time now and I just stumbled onto your channel! I did a two year church mission in Korea and spent a little more than half of that up around Camp Casey near the DMZ. Any advice for someone who’s looking to go the TACP route?
Good stuff! The best thing that you can do to prepare for the school is to get in the best physical shape. Be good at running, rucking, and endurance workouts. There are tons of plans out there to get you prepped. It's a rough course. You gotta want it! Best of luck.
Stick it out for a couple years and see if you can cross train by signing up for another four years. I'm sure they'll at least let you into the pipeline that way, but you'll have to kick all kinds of ass to make it through. God forbid they put you in the CCT or PJ pipeline, though. If so I hope you enjoy combat dive school lol
@@bakatsugu Good luck with that... career field manager basically does blanket denials of cross-training out of SF - if you re-enlist in SF you're basically screwed. SF can be awesome - but I have a conspiracy theory that Big AF doesn't want it to be... they don't put a high priority on additional training such as Airborne, Air Assault, or other schools. If you can petition for a PSD or JDET - you'll get assigned TDA to AFOSI and actually get to do some cool stuff vs flightline or Gates.
I was an old school 304x4 ROMAD convertee who who way back in the day was stationed at Camp Red Cloud with the 604 DASS. 99% of what I learned was from Viet Nam era ROMADS who wrote the books.
I was glad he said his day was normally not that long, on the drive back I'd probably be dosing and then would have to do a 2nd workout? 5-6 days like that for months would wear down the body for sure.
My band went to south Korea under MWR in 02-03 I had a blast in there! I loved camp red cloud! It seemed like the soldiers there were fucking crazy! It was great!
I was one of the first in this job back in 1977. I spent a total of 4 years in Korea. All we had was a Quonset hut, and an old store room.(Camp Casey) I was a 304X4, and then suddenly...BAM!! You are a 275X0....! My how Korea has changed! When we "Stopped for Lunch", it was C-rations, or Kimchi, rice and soup!
With you there. buddy. No choice about getting the new AFSC. Then because it was a new career field, no way to cross train out of the field. Came over for a couple Team Spirit exercises and then stationed at CRC. Nightmare range was always a cold experience. We were fortunate, having heaters in our jeeps. The food was great when you stopped on the roadside and ate at the mom and pop places. Korean FACs were very interesting doing CAS training missions.
I’m 26 years old , i plan on training for a year and going to TACP next summer . Do you think I’ll be ready ?? I’ve always been able to get fit & compete in active things fairly easy when I try but I’ll admit my mental strength & view on life is my strongest attribute.
Awesome video, question for you. I've been in the AF for 5 years 1N career field and want to do something more with my time, been looking into cross training to hopefully be in AFSOC. Have you seen any cases where someone was allowed in with color-blindness waivered? Thanks for the upload bro
This Is my second time in osan. Currently sf but was definitely considering cross training to TACP. I’d like to hang out with you all and potentially get some insight on the job👍🏾
I was thinking about TACP at work yesterday and now your channel shows up in my feed.. Predictive algorithms and possible future.. thank you for the information and your service.. what's the age cut off for tacp
Google might just be stalking you. And also, I'm not too sure. Last I heard it was like 40, but I'm not certain. If you look up usafspecwarrecruiting on instagram, they'll be able to give you good info.
Do you need a TS or just a secret? I’m in the guard and have been considering switching but no chance I’ll get a TS most likely. Also do you have any experience with guard Tacp?
Cool Video Brother. Brings back memories from Camp Casey (OL-A) doing CAS at MPRC and Scorpians Tail! Do you have any contact info for some Korea TACP coins? Drop me a line when you get a chance, I’d like to set something up. I appreciate it Bud. Again, cool videos!
As soon as I got back from Basic and AIT for Army Cav Scout with the LA NG I got offered to swap over to LA Air Guard to try and be a TACP. Really regretting not taking the chance now
Racing Fuel Mod it’s pretty rough. The biggest advice I can give going in is don’t be a quitter, and be in the best shape. There’s a lot of rucking. The academics aren’t bad, but you still need to go home and study every night. It’s a great challenge.
FunkyBunkley currently a college student looking to trying to get into the TACP pipeline after ots. I know it’s going to be hard but I’m up for the challenge.
I’m guessing you’re attached to 1 of the Army units out there. Are there any stand alone ASOS/RQS/STS units that are based in South Korea? Love the vid by the way!
FunkyBunkley wow thanks for the reply sir! Was stationed in Osan 16-17 now im at kadena since Oct 17 about to leave her in Oct of this year. Thank you for the videos! Really interested in going into TACP as a cross train from SF
Also another cool thing is that my family in Korea lived next to Osan base, and I saw yall a lot of times! Thank you for the service, and hopefully I become a TACP one day!
I do have question about TACP. I am prior Army then just recenty joined Air Guard and planning going to TACP Airforce. How long can you can you stay in Korea if you do get TDY there?
Not trying to step on toes - but I was AF USAF and Korea was a 12 month PCS station - remote tour (no family). Different than the Army which allows a 3 year tour with family or 1 year remote I believe (per my Army recruiter)
