At my school 30% of the new architecture students dropped out after the first midterm of their freshman year, and I’ve heard that on the wall of the studio they have a “memorial” of names of the people that dropped out, as well as the date

@@Extradub32p hi I am a first year student so might not have much insights but I can you that the work load is real and once you study architecture you really fall in love with it. Time management is really the key to submissions. All I can say is don't procrastinate and you will have your best time taking architecture as a major and giving life to your creation. Hoping this is helpful.
@@Extradub32p as someone applying this year to undergrad architecture its easy if u have a passion for it. I'm making my portfolio to send into Cornell and im busting my ass off for it. so you gotta work hard obviously.
my dads was an architect, he was one for about 30 years before the stress got to him, he began drinking and now hes a sack on the couch. he was a fun guy tho definitely pursue this
My dad is an architect. Been working as one for a VERY long time. Every once and a while we pass things and he can say “hey, I helped model that”. It’s cute.
@@daintycactus2862 I guess it depends on the company you work for and the position in said company. He isn’t rich at all- but he has enough money to live comfortably I’d say. Dunno if this helps much but I hope it helps haha
@@daintycactus2862Depends. If you want a get rich quick career then architecture definitely ain't it. If your goal is monetary then maybe go for IT or finance. A lot of archi. students, me included, pursued architecture because of an interest in planning and design. (Fingers crossed I make it to my last year🤞.)
i studied architecture. our first year second semester was the semester they called the “purge semester” aka where they made everything so hard they weeded out the students who weren’t right for architecture.
This Is pretty much accurate. For one studio I went to bed at around 4am and had a dream about part of my presentation that needed some polishing up so I woke up around 6am to go and fix it before I forget. I didn't go back to sleep.
As someone who is in an architecture school I can relate. For me the first midterm was hard, especially since I got some pretty strict professors, ESPECIALLY MATH. But luckily I'm a second year now and things are going way more smooth then in the start.
This type of content about a course is cool, that would really help a lot of us to factor that perspective in our decision, instantly subscribed for the concise and easily digestible content please do more for other courses!
My dad is an architect and from what i have heard this is acurate. The all black clothes, doing work till late into the night, the over using of vending machines and the sleeping in the studio are all true
@@tharaarmani2975 Okay, the video wasn’t lying 💀 It’s tiring and stressful. I thought about dropping out more than once 💀💀 But I made it alive, just finished my first year ✨ I think you just need to keep in mind what made you choose architecture in the first place
Watching this as I’m about to start my fifth semester… I did stay up 2 months in my studio. It’s actually hella fun if your studio have a bunch of other people staying in too.
This is actually what I want to do. Even though i have heard from others who have done it that it take alot of work it's something I'm super interested in.
Man, if I wasn’t pursuing music right now, (the thing I’m best at and my favorite thing), I may have picked up architecture. Seeing these marvelous creations, especially from the really inventive creative minds like Frank Gehry and Jean Nouvel, is just incredibly inspiring with how they made their art come to life. (I didn’t pursue it because you have to be really good at math, and that’s my worst enemy lol)
