hey thanks Courtney, i chose to watch it for a presentation for school and it helped me a bunchhh with getting things to talk about, since one topic was 'describing a typical day at work'. at first i worried it might be difficult to find smth to talk about but i did see your lovely video so thanks a lot. You did great explaining everything! So nice to see new black creators! I’m interested in event planning and was wondering, do you buy all the things for the event and you provide them a bill afterwards? Or do you use their money to put the event together?

Hi Navia💕 Thank you! Typically, I bill prior to the event! So I usually do a lump sum contract, and then the client pays the vendors directly. This event was a little different, they were friends of mine so I purchased most things on their behalf, but billed upfront. I hope this answers your question!

Would you say you’re more in event decorating than just planning? Bc this was a lot of moving and making things that I wouldn’t want to necessarily do bc I wouldn’t have space

I offer both services! Most of my events are full service, so I do the planning and designing. This event primarily focused on the design elements, as the planning had already been done. I really enjoy the creative side, so it was a great addition to my business, which also helps me be more profitable.

I went to college for Hospitality & Tourism Management, and I also worked in the industry. I think taking courses may be worth it, but certainly not necessary! I definitely learned more as I went, rather than by education.
