Omg, this is super cool! I’m an international relations student in SA and absolutely love engaging with people abroad just to have general conversations about their countries, lifestyles and the like. I’ve helped some of them learn English by simply having conversations, but didn’t really think of it as being an “ESL teacher”! What is VOA Learning English website about and what can one do with it to test students reading abilities? It seems the content is mainly video. VOA is mainly for testing their reading ability if you click on the news site then they show you articles to read for different levels of students. But you can try others I’ve left in the description and something called ESL discussions for conversational topics to help your lesson flow if you ran out of things to ask.
