sometimes I wonder how anyone would want to subject themselves to a schedule like this and then I remember Jomboy literally built this empire with his bare hands and it all starts to make sense. Cheers for workin hard, and hardly twerkin. 🤝
I was thinking this as well. Ive never heard jimmy explain how he went from breaking down baseball videos to having a successful online sports media network. That seems like quite the jump, and I can only imagine how much hard work and effort went into building it
@@codqsBeAsT there's a video on this channel around the time Chris Rose joined where you explains a bit. Essentially a "friend" asked what he would do if he invested in him to make breakdowns full time, and he went with it. Then when Rose joined, I think Jomboy media received more investors.

@@jomboy_ also came here to ask about this. Also can't imagine choosing my MacBook display over a larger external monitor? I move so much faster with the extra real estate and a mouse.
@@JOyo246642 I use an external monitor when I’m at my desk setup. Wanted to watch the World Cup game as I edited so was hanging out in the lounge aswell. I edit anywhere though. It’s just my background task. Train rides, weekend car rides always editing so I’m used to the small setup
Jimmy is a great dad. I have two around the same age and it’s impressive how he is able to grow and manage the company while still being a kick ass parent. It is not easy I’m sure
That was my thought. He's edited so many videos so it must work for him but I have to imagine having an actual workstation would speed all of that up lol. Who knows though everyone is different, especially with workflow.
The fact that I follow you for baseball and sports content and you spend half of this video showing your role as a father instead of showing your day as just work then sleep is truly amazing. Especially when you see the quality and quantity of jimmy content within jomboy media just goes to show how special of guy you are and how special the company is and will be. Many would have to leave their family short changed in order to do half of what jimmy does and I truly hope nothing but the best for JM
Man… this reminds me of how fun it was having a 2YO in the house. Nothing beats watching them learn and grow… but the early days of parenthood are just special.
it’s neat how the laptop seems to have a left-to-Right motion during the timelapse like a typewriter. and every so often, jomboy’s hand hits the return and moves it back left. i guess video editing with this setup has a lot of quick LTR movements and fewer the other way?
1. You gotta sleep more than 4 hours a night my dude. Super unhealthy 2. With all that office space get yourself a desk to work on! Plug that laptop into a keyboard and a nice big monitor. Treat yourself! 3. What on earth do all those other people do all day if you’re editing and VO’ing everything yourself?
I get that same head down underwater feeling when I'm coding. Then someone pings me to join a meeting and I don't feel like I'm in the right headspace to explain anything.
The hard work really shows here - not just you James but the whole JM team. You guys deserve all your flowers. Everyone really appreciates all the work you guys put in to inform and entertain us. Thanks everyone.
23:22-24:01 Easily the most exciting part of Jomboy's day. Very mysterious, seemed a bit impromptu and unplanned and we have NO idea on what's gonna happen. Thanks for the surprise, Jomboy.
Mind-blowing that after having so many employees and staff Jimmy is still the person that works the most in the office! A lot of respect and props to him! But start making other people edit your videos I love you so much I don't want you to get burn out
QUESTION - Is this everyday or you set one or two super busy days then you have easier days the rest of the week? Kind of how my schedule is as well. Monday/Tuesdays are crazy, then easy street the rest of the week. Like it better that way then having everyday kind of busy. Rather just get it over with. Though I am usually hungover on Mondays which make it suck lol.
Im really so appreciative of the amount of effort you put in and it seems like you do a decent job balancing work and life but I truly hope you continue to take care of yourself! Healthy and happiness over content!
Jimmy's overlay that breaks the screen down into thirds really shows how miserable camera framing is in sports. They really do just center everything up on the camera like a high school video essay. I'd love to see a baseball game shot by an actual filmmaker.
They told you about Texas, Florida, Tennessee and a few other states that dont have state income taxes...? Why would you stay in NYC? You could have soo much more saved up for your kids, just by relocating...
Hopefully you read this and it finds you well I just really want to know how does it feel going from I think it was just you and Jake to a very big sports news and breakdown center have a good one man and I hope you get even more successful then you already are later
Good job Jomboy! Running a company and raising a family is a lot. The day to day stuff is awesome to see. I’m reading the book, Free to Focus, by Michael Hyatt, to not feel so pulled in 100 different directions every day with work. To help any of us following our business dreams, what would you say are some of the best things you’ve done to balance it all?
I really thought it was just your work ethic that's brought you this far, but holy shit you're editing ability is beyond measurable...then again, there's a stat for everything.
1st, congrats on all the success, you clearly worked very hard for it. 2nd, I can’t be the only one that misses the breakdowns. Ever since you expanded to more channels and making more content you’ve done less and less breakdowns. Do more breakdowns!
James reminds me of my 2 year old Son, Liam; makes cute little "HMM HMMM's" when you ask him a question and he's trying to be cute, then gets super hyped for trains. Fkin' love my kids, man. Love seeing you interact with your Kids, as well.
