Different and enjoyable. Glad it's not just me that's completely out of my comfort zone on public transport 😁😁 brilliant to hear the wizard himself talking on the video.
I liked this episode of “On the Road with Rob” 🤣. Different and fun content. Also, to Chris…I know you don’t like being on camera, but I appreciate and enjoy watching a professional do their job, no matter if it’s simple or complicated. Thank you both for the content 😎.
Good to see more of Chris, he can really turn his hand to anything! Would have been nice to see a bit more of the road trip back, but otherwise another great update.
This is what I really like about this channel: these are genuinely good people enjoying their work, doing a fine, honest job on these vehicles, no gimmicks, and ..... making a living at it! Plus, you get some nice travel in from time to time!! :))
Check the front driver and passenger door hinges.. Big heavy doors and a recall on all our Transit vans.. Hinge brackets cracked and needed welding.. 😳😳🤔 Check the Ford Transit Custom forum.. Type in faulty door hinges..
Great video guys, personality I don’t mind how long your videos are, in fact the longer the better. Nice to see Chris doing some more work to camera. 👍
Great video Rob. Seriously. The car trade can get mad at times. I honestly know how you feel in the video. Trains and travelling, picking up strange cars / vans and delivering them elsewhere on trade plates / getting home late is something I used to do as a living. I still do the odd-job now again for a few mates. Happy to deliver cars to you if ever you need help for petrol/train fare home if you ever buy from the West Mids / Worcestershire or Shropshire areas. I'm local to these areas and sometimes have random days off in the week due to my odd scheduling at work.
Trains? Yuk! Nice to be seeing more of Chris. Really enjoying your content, the "real world" style and honesty is great after all the drama and showbiz of so many other channels. Thanks very much.
Nothing like a good train ride from one end of the country to the other to buy a vehicle Rob, done it twice myself once from Liverpool to Hayling Island and other time Liverpool to Newbury, both times I was lucky and came away with good vehicles. That looks like a great van too.
Hi Rob and Chris, lovely van, great condition. I'm like you, so seldom go on a train journey its brilliant to do. Looks like John's shout out will pay dividends. Looking forward to the next van, also have to say Chris.. you just have to smile when you just know he won't be able to sleep until those little bits are done, rear door panels etc, your a great team, each bring your individual skills etc to your partnership. Great content as always. Cheers, Alex.
I think someone needs to put a label on you the next time you travel by train. It worked for Paddington Bear! Great content guys. It’s good to see people are trying to help you out in these funny times.
It's good to see Chris get more comfortable with the camera 👍 hats off to you as I hate being on camera 😂 . Don't think I've seen one in red before and I love it . Keep doing what your doing guys well done 👏
I have been watching quite a few of your videos for the past three or four months. I find the content of your channel both interesting and inspiring, albeit I am not in the mechanics trade really. It is very positive content, seeing two professionals 'rescue' so many cars as you do.
Excellent content Rob - I can’t remember the last time I used public transport, I’d be just like you, and as for walking around London - no chance!! Fantastic work by Chris, I had to smile when he said “ just pop round to the woodwork shop” I can imagine he has a different workshop for every trade! Paint shop, blacksmiths shop, engine shop, metal fabrication shop etc etc, I’m very envious Chris! Cracking van, what a result.
As always rob loved the video nice to see Chris doing a bit on his own should do it more he is so talented. I watch several RU-vid channels but not one is as good as yours really enjoy your videos please keep it going.
Really enjoyed this style of content an absolute natural on the camera 👌 remember seeing you from the black ferrari and the fiats days you've come a long way amazing progression
Really interesting project. A great van. Hope the rest are just as good. Was a privilege to see part of Chris’s lair - the wood shop. I reckon he’s got a CNC machine, giant 3D printer and full carbon fibre furnace just out of shot too. But at least we saw the back of the hot tub Rob! Looking forward to seeing you and Chris celebrating the sale of the vans from there in future ;)
Rob, i could listen to your commentaries all day mate, you should do pod casts fella ... Stay on train till St Pancreas !! quality fella. Your vids make my day, keep the content coming fella :)
Regarding that battery, just shows you, some decent people out there. Use those rear door linings as templates, some van builders dont even have new hardboard linings, like Toyota. I move fleet Ford vehicles every week day morning. Those dashboards look familiar, New Zealand Fords are built I think in Thailand, still similar. I have bought a car three years ago via train journey hundreds of miles from home. Have some inkling what you went thru. Good luck with the van.😎👌👍😁
Rob you gotta take the train again and try and do the same journey using no sat nav and not asking anyone. Should be great fun for us to view 😁. Gotta love Chris when he was making up the new boards for the back doors, quote " bitta cutting, bitta drillin". Great vid really enjoyed it.
Love the video and really enjoyed the travel as a fun new twist. Also thinks for the footage around St Pancras as was my stomping ground for years but I left for the US so great to see it all again.
That is a really nice van, it’s in good condition, plus it’s great to see one in red, not white lol, I enjoyed the train journey, if possible, could you do one of those again at some point please Rob ❤️.
Good fun episode Rob! That red van looked extremely comfortable inside, just like a Mondeo car I guess…Still I really laughed when Chris said “ now let’s go round to the woodworking shop” - (is there anything Chris hasn’t got or can’t do? Ha ha! ) 😊👍
Hope you enjoyed your holiday to Birmingham and Wolverhampton and could understand us Brummies, the yam yams in Wolverhampton their a different kettle of fish even we can't understand them. Nice looking van. John
Nice little find Rob. Theres nothing better than road tripping for a motor. Did Newcastle Upon Tyne to Cardiff and back in a day for a MR2 once. Great days. 😁
The new panels look so much better now and really good to see Chris recording and talking a the video and the annex looks really to and well done to chris for building it
Hello Rob and Chris, certainly different from buying cars 😁,it is a nice looking van.and clean.Chris has done a brilliant job on the wooden panels for the back doors.cant wait to see the other ones.
Parking sensors are one of those things I cannot live without now -- the older you get the old brain turns to jelly on judging walls and stancheons ! -- the van has all the toys which are part of modern driving USB's + electric everything !!. Chris 24 7x7 !!
Hi Rob and Chris great video and van! Don't think you can beat going to pickup yourself did get a car delivered about a month ago as it was 4hrs away and was a bit disappointed with it. But last Sunday went and picked one up that was 2hrs away and was extremely pleased with it, so i would say you can't beat travelling to pick up yourself in my experience. Can't wait for next exciting episode thanks.
Fantastic video guys. Sometimes you gotta put the miles in. Back in 2010 I won the bid on my Citroën BX Gti 16 Valve. Lancaster to Southampton on the train and then the drive back home in an unknown car. It’s been as good as gold these past 11 years and been all round France and Switzerland. Keep up the good work. 👍
I was always on trains from 1996 to 2001 whilst delivering new cars for what was back then Warwick Wright Peugeot in Chiswick. It was the best way to see England's green and pleasant land!
I passed my test last March, age 45, up until then I walked , used trains and buses to get anywhere. I reckon Rob fitted in on that train about as well as I would these days. Nice clean van, another for me to look out for now, if you see a bald idiot in a black Corsa waving, give us a wave back!
Great video, so you went to Birmingham via London, to pick up a very tidy van registered in Newcastle! Lol! Really enjoyed this content really different. I used to use the train a lot and this video reminds me what a pain it was.
Great buy brilliant van, make sure you check with Ford though as there’s a recall for Ford to inspect the timing belts on these engines as they’ve been snapping prematurely, it’s free and only a 30 min check, great video keep up the good work
Great content again guys! Somehow I’m not surprised that Chris has a woodwork shop, and that annex?? He’s a clever boy. You two are a great partnership 👍👍
Rob, if you do that trip again be sure to go up on to the Eurostar concourse where there is a massive bronze statue under the clock that was found and restored from the old St Pancras station. You won't need to double back go past the statue and you come out along side the StPancras Hotel you saw. Not motoring related but great content I think.
Evening lads. Great video this one. Love these quick flips. Looks like you enjoyed yourself on that train Rob. Looks a lovely can with minimum work. Nice little quick repair from Chris. Is there some kind of van shortage? Keep safe. 👍
Brilliant again Rob, great to see VChris more on camera, such a talented guy, you make a superb team, my mate love the new Ford vans , that red one is a belter , good luck with the new one, i'm sure you guys will knock it out of the park, big thumbs up.
That’s the perfect setup Chris has there a tool and workshop for every occasion but unlike myself he has the skill set to use them to. Another great video Rob and Chris and good to hear Chris’s voice your getting more confident mate 👍🏻
St Pancras station...Pancreas is one of your body parts Rob! As regards the 60mph on dual carriageways and 50 mph on single lane roads in a van,if you converted that van into a campervan and register it with dvla you can do car speed limits despite adding loads of weight with beds, cupboards etc. Seems crazy but true. Another thing too,a loose battery can get you 3 points on your license.
Great content as usual Rob, even better to watch Chris’s confidence grow with the camera. Definitely 2 of the best in the business in my opinion. Great job guys 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Beautiful looking van the red is a lovely colour on it, bless you looked a bit stressed on the train glad you made it there and back, I live not far from Wolverhampton, any time your in the West Mids if you need a cuppa my kettle is always on for you guys 🫖 chris honestly your skills are superb the boards fit beautiful and you built Robs annex wow I’m sure you could sell those if you ever want to change jobs it’s stunning. How big is your workshop it looks huge another fun packed video guys keep up the good work
Brilliant video again guys. As interesting as the repair and workshop content is, the stories of how you come about the stock/projects are just as intreguing! Loving the recent stuff too. Been a subscriber since the bkack ferrari! 👍👍👍
Rob .I"m a class 1 HGV driver..try getting them transported to you there'll be plenty of lowloaders or vehicle transporters that can manage them in one trip..Maybe you should contact Co-part or maybe your go to parts yard of Kent Salvage between them I bet they could give you somebody's number?
I live in North Devon (Bideford) and went to Grimsby on a national express coach (13 hours) to buy a car. Five and a bit hours to get the ~331 miles home mind.
