Yay, you went to Sebastian Pescador! Juan has been our "fish" guy for over 20 years. There are a lot of free beaches closer than Paradise. Do you do anything with the locals, or pretty much stay in the Corpus Christi area? See you around the island.!
In fact, ALL the beaches are open to the public by law. Unlike the US, people in Mexico can't "own" a beach. But if you want to use a beach chair and umbrella at one of the beach clubs, you need to pay something. Also, 60 bucks for a beach club? Never paid that much in over ten years. Where are you going to be ripped off like that?
The East side has the beaches but the west only that one that is free. Everywhere else you pay. We sometimes hit Playa Azul where it is 200 peso entrance but is credit for consumption.
That may be the law but the reality is not the same. People have been arrested in this state and violently drug off the beach by the police for trying to use space claimed by a beach club. Until I know for sure I can access the beach for free, I will stick with the free access spots that the rest of the locals use.
