A DAY IN THE LIFE WITH A NEWBORN 

You are an adorable family. Ryker is so cute. My one suggestion as a Grammy would be that when you feed him and that includes Trace that you hold him as if he was being nursed. There will be more bonding and he will have more of a feeling of security rather than holding him on your lap or propping the bottle up and allowing him to eat on his own. Take advantage of that cuddle time for you too. Time goes by so fast. Love you guys.

I had a son who cried when I carried him face backward. He only wanted to be held facing outward. What I learned about that is that he is very outgoing and loved to see and connect with people.

I just want to say he is obviously fed, loved and well taken care of! I wish you didn’t have to defend the way you all chose to feed your child. You and trace are his parents and what you choose for your family shouldn’t need to come with a defense because of people on the internet who want to parent your baby. ❤❤❤

You guys need the book Save Our Sleep by Tizzie Hall. My girls would go to bed at 7.00pm and wake up at 7.00am we started the routine at 8 weeks. They are now 14 and 13 and still great sleepers through out their child hood and now teenage years. I attribute it all to the good habits we created as babies and toddlers.

Hey! As a former pumping mama! Something that I found out is you can put your pumping parts in the fridge and only need to wash them once a day instead of after each pumping session! That helped me so much with more time with my baby girl! I hope you see this as this may help you too! 😁

You are all doing so great already! Ryker is such a precious treasure. Enjoy all of the baby-cuddle-time each time you feed him because he will be growing up so very quickly. Before you know it, he will be running around and playing on his own and won't want to be cuddled very much any more. Believe me when I tell you how very much you will miss this stage in Ryker's life, Hold on tight and don't blink or you will find him all grown up with a family of his own. The time really seems to zoom by. I miss that time so very much with our kids, and now out grandkids have already outgrown the cuddle stage! Oh my!! Have a great week! Hang in there Lydia pumping is a full time job. Our middle daughter pumped for a year and half with her second son. Riley was born with cleft palate and cleft lip so he was unable to nurse he had to be syringe fed. Ryker is absolutely adorable.

Im usually a silent viewer but decided to comment because of my experience. I’m a mom of 5 and one being an angel baby from having his bottle propped up while at a baby sitter’s please keep a close eye on him if choosing to propping up his bottle. I love watching y’all, he looks like a happy baby and is growing so fast ❤

Man, y'all have it good these days! Back when my girls were babies and I was a nervous parent I had to stand over the crib and watch their little chests rise and fall to make sure they were ok lol. That was before smart monitors...all we had were the dumb ones with audio 😂 Who am I kidding though...I'd probably still stand over the crib even with all the monitors

Everyone has their own routine. Looks you guys are adjusting to the parent thing just fine!!!

We kept our little babies up until midnight as well!! Love that schedule! Just an FYI in case you're interested, there have been many recent studies regarding screens and babies/toddlers. My daughter has shared them with me and so when we babysit our granddaughter, we make sure to keep her eyes off the TV. Can't be too cautious with their brain development. Congratulations on your sweet family.

Just wanted to say, the nipple on that comotomo is a medium flow if you didn’t change it. The 5 oz. ones come with a slow flow which you should use for a newborn ❤

I see so many new moms pumping to feed. They say it saves time and allows for more help. I found with my second baby, strictly breastfeeding was way less time consuming and I had more time for other things. My husband helped with everything else, he even got up at night to bring the baby to me, changed her diaper and brought her back and settled her in bed. I also had a stronger and closer bond than I had with my first, my son. I didn’t have a choice to breastfeed him, my body didn’t produce milk so I had to make bottles for him.

I love your team work taking care of your baby.

Hello sweet family! You all may have figured this already, but (after seeing Trace warming milk in your big sink) it works really well to heat some water and float your milk in one of your stainless steel tumblers until its ready. 😌

You showed this old gal a new trick! I would've never thought to use a hair dryer to quickly dry a little one. A great idea, low heat and faster than just a towel.

I had to go back when mine was 6 weeks old and my husband didn’t help so I had to get in the bed by at least 9 to start the night… wish I had been a SAHM for at least his first year. I was in a viscous state of lack of sleep and panic about it and having to go be alert at work.
