The trick with a glencairn glass is you tip it on its side and smell the curved part of the glass. The ethanol floats away and the esters are heavier, so they lay on the glass. Providing a chance to smell the whiskey without the harsh ethonal burn.
I started out with Moonshiners, watching Mark and Digger, with Mark Rogers and Tim Smith. I thoroughly enjoy their show! I got to tell you, I enjoy Brewzle. I have learned so much more than I ever have about bourbon. Understanding what’s involved and the appreciation of the nuances that you explain very well make it a much more enjoyable experience. Thanks and please keep it coming!
Good .We’re just gonna come hang with you. I bet you will find the best of the best. But seriously thanks because you seem like a really cool dude and a nice person which not only is it rare in the bourbon world, but just in the world. In general. Thank you man . 👨
I live about 2 hours away from Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge and have been there hundreds of times but never been to Gatlinburg brewing. But will definitely go next time I’m there!
You are an influencer having stores stock Ben Holladay because of your videos. You also got me to get into whisk(e)y and helped me learn that I like malt and rye whiskey more because I don’t like heavy oaked sweet bourbon.
Glencairn are widely used by professionals and regular folks. Not only in bourbon production but with spirits in general. It has the shape for a reason. Its better for smelling than a regular "neat" glas. He does not know what he's talking about.
The "neat glass" he is talking about is not the regular glass you are referring to. The neat glass is a brand that makes tasting glasses similar in shape to a glencarin while being shorter and wider. While most including myself still prefer the glencarin, the neat glass is becoming somewhat of a second gold standard in tasting glasses.
I don’t doubt that the glencairn has been innovated to do exactly what’s it’s intended to do. I do however believe that the trademark by glencairn glasses has created a monopoly and become the de facto standard for tasting and smelling. Are there better glasses? Probably. This guy seemed like more of a novice than he was leading on too. Calling himself a brand ambassador for going to total wine and putting a table up to serve samples isn’t exactly a brand ambassador.
Brewzle man I really think your a cool guy I still haven’t tasted bourbon but I gravitate to your personality and I love to watch the show “Moonshiners “ been watching them for years to see you and those guys together was cool as hell to me I’m going through a hard time in life right now financially and emotionally but this made me smile seeing you and the fellows just having a good time please keep me in your prayers lost my folks over the last few years and I’m heartbroken been depressed been in a dark place it’s just been a lot on me sorry for long message just speaking from the heart. Thank You for what you do
Mark and digger and the rest of my hillbilly friends are hilarious. Mark said you'll change your mind lol. Quick Witt. Ahh hell lol, good to see ya slim. Hey Brewzle don't be offended because they love it when you sling it back at them. Flipping hilarious.
Look up connecticuit wrapped cigars. Highly recommend. Made with love. I don't know the brands, i don't smoke. But worked the farms 20 years ago as a wee lad.
Enjoyed this video and watch all of your videos. My in laws are in Alabama right now and picked me up a bottle of Crittendens bottled in bond. Thanks for the recommendation and I can't wait to try it!
Really Enjoyed this video! Big fan of the Moonshiner's show. Been wanting to try Mark Roger's Peach but can't find it at the Local ABC Store in Guntersville, Alabama! Going to Tennesse, North Carolina and Virginia Mountains in May and will be looking for a jar or two to bring back with me!
Always Look forward to your Videos @Brewzle Someday I hope to meet up and do a Hunt or Something. Would be a Great Time hanging with “The Bourbon King”
Brewzle has become a major Bourbon influencer. With that said, he is partnering with allot of distillers and if this continues which it will, how can he give an honest take on any Bourbon if he is partnered up with the majority of them? He can't. Still love the show allot and will continue to watch. Thanks.
Would love to grow my channel and do more fun stuff like this. I love giving back and having people find and enjoy pours they’ve always wanted. This is inspiring stuff. Keep it up!
I'm pretty new to Bourbon (6+months). I live in a small town IN GA. My local shop has a decent stock of allocated and contacts me first everytime they get something in. Most is still full secondary prices though. I'm thinking about "pulling the trigger" on a couple bottles. Any thoughts on if I should/shouldn't are appreciated. Pappy 10 year-$550. Knob Creek 18-$175. Stagg jr.-$125. I get Eagle Rare for $44 from him which is pretty good. No rush on the Knob or Stagg but the Pappy I have to make a decision by this Tues.(9th). Bc I happen to live about 20min from the Augusta National and it's Masters week coming so he can shelf the Pappy and sell it easily for more than the $550 I'm sure. Thanks all for any thoughts.
Brewzle I have a bottle of that Bourbon Lore Ben Holladay pick. I haven’t opened it yet if you would like me to send it to you to try. It would be a honor for you to be the one to open it. Heck we might even be able to make a trade.
Every report on Bourbon sales I have seen, show a 10% year on year lower sales trend. I think people have less to spend on 'discretionary' spending due to the economy, inflation, than during the pandemic spend spend spend.. or in reality things are comming down to pre-pandemic.
I will tell you that anyone can use a neat glass. You can straight up go nose deep like it’s your first date with a new woman. But the glen cairin you gotta know how to nose it to get all the goods and leave out the bad
"People arent buying as much (whiskey) anymore..." ... for the love of god, dont let me wife hear that. LOL. I've picked up a dozen or so bottles in the last 2 weeks. 😀
If you offered "JUST PUT A LITTLE PROOF ON IT!" t-shirts, I suspect you'd have a good seller. Don't need to be all caps, just trying to grab your attention...
