Software engineers work way harder than most people. They are just more honest. Who do you thing built Google maps, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Tesla self driving capabilities? Lazy software engineers or super hard working PhD students / gradates 😉
So I'm a software developer in a large infrastructure company and my day looks more like doing nothing because most tasks are solved in a few minutes. I would say that if you have a lot of experience in what you do, you can compress your development and operation time a lot. When you're in the learning phase, your day is full of everything.

How long does it take for him to have the necessary experience? Years. Is there value in those few minutes of illness diagnosis and drug prescription? Tremendous value.
