Total respect to the loggers of any time period! Over the past 18 months, I’ve hiked nearly 2,000 miles in the Olympic Forest. Most of the miles have been on decommissioned and grown over logging roads that were blocked off decades ago. Totally amazing the physical conditions loggers worked in with potentially dangerous equipment!!
Funny how there's not any stupid treehugger comments on a video that shows how it's really done. No fake TV bullshit here to fuel the nonsense feedback that doesn't apply to what this breed does. Started chasing landing on a yarder outfit 4 months ago after mainly bucking oversize logs for a mechanical outfit before that, so I can comment on these yarder videos. Great videos, best I've seen about any type of logging on RU-vid. People need to see this, not Ax Men.
Even if they're chugging testosterone amd steroids every women I've had the breif chance to work with in the rigging have been physically incapable of doing most of the basic jobs on a tower side. A tommy moore block alone is 75 lbs, not counting the tree strap youre required to pack with it. Up muddy slopes that force you onto all fours through blackberries and devils club, onto narrow walk logs 50 60 ft above rocky shallow creeks, to trudging through neck deep snow drifts pulling 100s of feet of haywire. No one shows sympathy for the weak, hurt, or tired. it requires not only physical strength but an animalistic determination and grit to succeed no matter the bodily risk. Maybe theres a woman out there that can handle it, but id be suprised
