We're hard at work picking apples right now! Come along with Farmer Jason from tractor to orchard to cooler and back again to become an expert apple picker with us. Happy picking!
That sure is a lot of acreage in apples! I wish farmland where I am on Vancouver Island, Canada wasn’t $55,000 to $70,000 an acre. I’ve got 40 acres and just getting going this weekend with our first 200 trees. I went with Bud118 rootstock so I don’t have to anchor and has less problems than EMLA111. We are likely going to plant 20’ centres with 15’ rows. What rootstock did you use here? Spacing looks to be about 12’ to 15’ o.c. Great yields! How old are the trees you’re picking and how many pounds roughly would you say you’re getting from each tree? Looks amazing! Fruit quality is perfect.
I really liked the fact that you are using crates made from recycled plastic water bottles, hope someday we Will get rid of plastic wastes from landfills
