A quick tip is that you should use slicks in the wet on practice days so when it rains on a race day you can control it quite well or even make you control it better overall! Edit: also in qualifying you should leave a gap between the kart infront so you can push hard and not get blocked!

I think one of the reasons you had problems with the rear of the kart is because of the lack of power. When you get on the power more weight goes to the rear and it helps produce more grip, I might be wrong but when you will put your race engine on you will have an over gripping problem in the rear tires

I wish I could afford karting. Been waiting 2 years now and have now came to realise it is not possible rn and have to find happiness in a 300cc R3 . Could be worse though

For entry level motorsport prices are excessive! I got in this year purchase costs + expenses for the year were about 15k AUD. This is with only buying a 2004 model chassis and engine so find it very hard to be competitive. Budget for next year is about 8k with a plan to do 8 race meetings which is slightly better

I'm not sure where you are from, but maybe there are some rental karting competitions you can compete in? Entry to those kind of races are mostly not that expensive.

The great engine is extremely important. Just last week I killed my engine, so then we had to use the true racing engine. I'd never driven an engine like that before. I was shocked by the amount of power it gave. Then at the start, I passed a guy in front of me like he was standing, and after that I overtook a (sole) DD2 guy on the outside of the fastest corner. That was a lot of fun)

I drove my first time in the wet on Saturday but on used mojo d2. Great fun but laptimes are awful obviously cuz it wouldn’t turn in properly and than get massive oversteer as well as quite some aquaplaning…
