At the pinnacle of private game reserves, is Shamwari Private Game Reserve - a place where guests can exist in harmony with nature, however fleeting the moment. Home to masses of free roaming wildlife that populate an unspoiled landscape under the ever present gaze of the relentless African sun. Journey with us this week as we explore the rich biodiversity of this reserve where large numbers of ungulates sustain a healthy population of lion, cheetah and the illusive leopard. Grasslands are home to the white rhino and the subtropical thicket provides browsing for the elephant and black rhino and many more.

I LOVE this show on tTubi and Netflix. Me and my better half watched it every night for weeks. Although we also prefer animal docu's and dinosaur docu's than normal TV. It really makes you have a deeper love and appreciation for the people working here and other Reserves. As a normal child of 9-5 parents it makes you realize how every person here is changing the world and how it's much easier than I ever thought it would be to be that person. Hope my children do this one day. Makes me want to change careers myself at 38 yrs old....

Hi Susie. Glad you enjoyed it😀 yes, they spend up to 5 hours every night grazing and can sometimes roam for up to 10km in search of good grazing. Is there any specific topic or animal you would like us to do an episode on?

Thank you for the reply. It would be hard to say what I would like to see more of or if I have questions, or topics I might be interested in. I do have to say, that each video is very interesting, insightful, and educational. Therefore, I love everything you post.....just I hope you don’t stop these virtual safaris, that would be the only thing! Thank you again for this special treat! You and everyone who works there, do a phenomenal job! 🙏❤️

Hi Jack. Yes unfortunately - although we have had some recent rain - it is still quite dry and not enough.

I have a question. Since rhino poaching is so bad why don't yall just cut off their horns? I can think of 2 reasons why you should. 1 to save the animals life and 2 so another rhino can't kill or hurt anything else. I see so many sad stories about people killing these animals for their horns. If the parks and game reserves would cut them off it would save their lives. I just don't understand why you all don't do that. I've watched the Netflix show and I seen you all cut off a males horn because he was killing and hurting other rhinos. Maybe I'm wrong but it just makes sense to me. Thank you for everything yall do for animals.
