My favorite 豆屋 is on one of the corners of the main street. Reminds me of the lima beans my grandmother used to make. The kinako dusted sky beans are great too! Too bad the Kawagoe Matsuri has been canceled for the past 2 years because of COVID--that's a genuine super spreader event with people packed like sardines into the streets. I hope matsuri return next year, it's one of the very special things about Japan.
It was definitely a cool area, I wish I had more time. Hopefully I can go again sometime, maybe during a different season. I hope matsuri come back as well!
Hey, Barrett! That projection mapping show was brilliant! John Daub went there late last year, but didn't show that display, and it is always good to get different people's perspectives. Thanks!
The unagi looked so good! Unagi one of my favorites as well. This place reminded me of a video that Paolo From Tokyo had where he ate at a really yummy looking eel restaurant near Naritasan Shinshoji Temple called Kawatoyo (had to look it up!). Definitely made me hungry! Thanks for taking us on your travels Barrett!
