A day with greyhounds. A video of a day in the life of our 2 adopted greyhounds Magnus & Scout. starting with morning wakeup, we follow our 2 dogs throughout their day watching them eat, walk, sleep and play.
Greyhounds. The most loveable low maintenance couch potatoes you'll ever find. All they want is loads of TLC, food, water and a warm bed (couch) and they'll love you forever. I've always had these loveable hounds and always will.
My own beloved greyhound girl is 14 and a half but this video of your two in the snow reminds me so much of her in her younger days - how these hounds enhance our lives - thank you for sharing the joy and the tummy rubs...
A lot of people don't realize that all the greyhound breeds, down to the tiny Italian greyhounds, are the laziest dogs in the world. They have 2 speeds; fast and asleep.
I love seeing others houndies and their families! We’ve adopted retired racers for 20 years now here in Birmingham, Alabama. We live just 3 miles from the track and have been active in the greyhound community. We were so sad to see racing at our track close permanently since COVID hit. Our local group placed over 900 hounds a year, had an adoption rate of 99.5% (we lost a couple to bloat and osteosarcoma) and would drive dogs all the way to Canada to get them in happy homes. I have been isolated at home since last Feb since Im awaiting a kidney transplant and have been so thankful for devoted best buddie Atticus Fetch (aka CTW Sir Wyndham). I’ve found the greyhound to be an ideal breed for my health issues and lifestyle. We have a soft spot for the XXL boys with previous hock fractures because they are hardest to place and they seem to be the biggest, sweetest goofballs. I really don’t know what we will do when Atticus someday crosses the bridge. I really can’t imagine my life without a greyhound in it to brighten my days. Thanks for sharing with us!
Not sure why YT has recommended a 3 year old video but glad it did. Such awesome pet parents, thank you for giving us an insight into their daily lives.
Watching your videos has enouraged me and my partner to adopt a greyhound! We will be getting him tomorrow and cant wait :) Thank you for all your informative videos staring Magnus and Scout!
I found these videos after I started the process to adopt one. House inspection tomorrow, hoping all is well so I can have my new furry buddy move in with me soon,
You are taking such good care of this greyhounds and that’s what they do they just lay around and ran for big money all their lies now it’s time for retirement and I just want to lay around and rest and I want to thank you for taking them in and give them a good life
I went to visit my first potential retired greyhound today....safe to say I fell in love 💕.... just trying to get everything set up now. Going for a second meeting next week 😍
@@magnusgreyhound still can't quite get over how much they sleep ...i was initially worried my flat would be too small for such a big dog. But after meeting several greyhounds today and watching countless videos I was struck by how calm and chilled they are (as long as they get their daily exercise obviously ). I live alone and am at home a lot so I feel like they will be the perfect companion ☺️
I've been obsessed with greyhounds lately, and this video has helped me realized I'm not ready to adopt one. Thank you so much for showing what goes into caring for them, what feeding them looks like (I am vegetarian and feel squeamish about handling meat)... it was a much-needed reality check for me. I will stick with watching lovely videos like this one - I couldn't offer a dog such a loving home as you do.
You get used to the level of care required to look after them. I was a complete beginner when we adopted Magnus. It is a big commitment though with no days off. Glad you find the videos useful.
We adopted our almost 2 yr old greyhound 'Ted''' 3 weeks ago, we already had a 7yr old x bearded collie/springer spaniel and said she would be our only one. My dad rescued a greyhound 5 weeks ago and we fell in love!! We got Ted 3 days later. Piper hated him first night but they are now almost besties! I just read the last comment so sorry for your loss of Magnus. Rainbow Bridge lets all of them meet up and have the most amazing party (least thats what I like to think after the loss of my pets) Your videos helped us to educate us on greyhounds so thankyou
RU-vid the mind reader. I was missing my greyhound Sweetpea that passed away in 2004 today. Your video popped up. My heart is full through my tears. I had my grey for a decade. From the time he was rescued at 3 till he passed at 13. I still have his coats. Greyhounds and their many many beds and soft places. Thank you for letting me enjoy your greys.
I just want to reach right through the screen and give them each a hug and a kiss. Love you Magnus and Scout, and New Years greetings to your humans. Virginia Denney in northern Ohio with new dog "Nux".
Having lasted 4 months without a canine in the house we decided to have another greyhound - a 4 year black beauty. Tully has brought us such joy and laughter, he’s a star. Of course he has taken over the house with his 3 beds, assorted coats and pyjamas, leads, treats, etc etc. He’s very stubborn and has his own mind but can be bought with food of any sort, so training has been easy. If you’re undecided about adopting a grey just keep watching, just one point though - there’s a lot goes in and a lot comes out!
Thanks for watching. Glad you like the video. They are great dogs in my opinion, but I am a bit biased. I have have made quite a few videos about our greyhounds and cover some of the more challenging aspects that we had to deal with adopting a greyhound. Hope these help. Feel free to ask any questions.
Only recently started seeing your videos, and it's poignant now knowing that sweet Magnus has crossed the Rainbow Bridge; what sweet Pups they are. I hope Scout and Sam, the new foster, are getting on well together. Love and Best wishes to you all, two legs and four, here and in the Beyond...🧡🧡🤍🤍
Luka (previously Sam) and Scout are getting on well together. So much so that we adopted him. We do miss Magnus greatly. He was such a special pup. I filmed his whole life with us. From our first meeting until his passing in our arms. Never thought I would make so many videos. It was great to hear of the impact the videos had in other Greyhounds getting adopted. His spirit will live on in not only our hearts but through the videos. Thanks for watching.
We are rescuing a greyhound, hes coming home this week. So excited. I had been looking in kennels for a while then my friend recommended greyhound trust, and when I saw him I thought hes going to have the best retirement home with us. This video was lovely to watch, such peaceful giants :)
I’ve loved these videos since way back when. It’s so much fun to watch Magnus and Scout. I adopted a blind Maltese who will be fifteen soon. Our routine is very similar, actually, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Thanks for sharing these videos! ♥️
Everything about this video (and your channel) is perfect, my cheeks hurt from smiling for 23 minutes straight. I love how you show the reality of owning a greyhound, they do need a bit of care like the teeth brushing and getting coats and quality food, but they are so so sooooo worth it! Love from New Zealand
Our first Greyhound was right off the track. I put him out in our fenced yard and watched him chase, catch, and gobble down a rabbit within about two minutes! I was horrified! I called the vet right away, worried that the bones would get stuck somewhere. They laughed and explained how the bones are digested very easily. I miss my George! Such wonderful animals!
Thank you so much for posting this. ❤️ I've recently moved from Canada to London UK and very excited to adopt a sighthound when I settle in. Much love to the whole fam!
Your videos mean the world to me. So full of love and commitment to these beautiful creatures that give so much back. Magnus and Scout are so very lucky to have such wonderful care .....and equally it’s so visible the joy they bring to you both. Many thanks 🙏 Choosing a life with hounds is choosing a life with LOVE 💜
Thanks you for your very kind words. We try to take care of them as best we can. They are great dogs and we are lucky to have them. Thanks for watching. Glad you like the videos.
Your grey hounds are exceptionally beautiful dogs. I watched your films on & off for a quite of years now & I always wanted to say you guys are great parents!
We adopted a greyhound x staffy back in April from my neighbour she fosters and rehomes animals, I never realised how loving but also goofy greyhounds are! Can’t believe I’ve never given them a second look before, they’re an absolute delight of a dog!! My spike is more greyhound than I realise after watching your video 🐶😂 gorgeous pooches you have ❤️
What a treat to see them again. They are into a good routine and it seems they have been together forever. Keep safe and look forward to seeing you all soon.🐶
I watched this when the video first came out and enjoyed it. Today was an especially hard day and wanted to see a gentle video with Magnus and Scout. I was struck once again with how loved and well-cared for your pups are. You, your wife, Magnus and Scout made my heart happy. Thank you for being great pet owners. ❤
It was your videos that finally pushed us to go forward with getting our Pippin! Just put up our 7 month video - and it looks like somehow we out-snowed you in Birmingham! Good job greyhounds seem to love the stuff?! Keep up the updates guys!
Greyhounds are the best pets for anyone who doesn’t want a hyperactive companion. I lost my old lurcher half way through the first lockdown, and I wasn’t going to get another dog, lasted 4 months - couldn’t stand it any longer.
I too had a lurcher but she died of cancer at 5 and l said never again will l have another dog. It was too painful when she died. I lasted one week. The house was so empty without her. So l rescued a Greyhound. Then another to keep him company. At 12/13 they crossed the 🌈 . Now l have 2 youngsters, greyhounds of course and l would recommend a greyhound to anyone looking for a loyal companion who will love you to death.
I love watching your videos. I adored my sweet greyhound Flynn. Magnus reminds me so much of him. Even his eyes are so similar. His favorite thing in the world was being in the garden. I miss my friend. He was the best dog I ever had.
Streamed this to the telly and let my Greyhound girl watch it. She loved seeing them both, absolutely focused for a good 10 minutes 😄 Great video, thanks.
Hi lovely to see your two pups as always. Our two are settling in to being well loved too now. Pretty much the same sleeping, eating sleeping walking oh and sleeping again. The love they give us is great. Thanks. 🐾🐾
Magnus and Scout are so adorable and beautiful ❤️ My whippet starts whining too if I take too long getting him dressed for a walk, although I know he would sleep all day if he could :)
It is so funny ...my Greyhound Boy does exactly the same with his front feet wile lying next to me on the Couch snoozing...he is trying to push me oft it...😂😂😂they all seem to have certain behavior in common...Enjoy, hopefully Winter will pass soon...Take care, Dagmar from Germany 🤗🤗🤗
I learned so many useful tips and tricks from your videos since I got my ex-racing greyhound a year ago. Now accidentally we almost have the same schedule for the hounds :) Thank you!!
I’ve heard this tip about dog tooth brushing - If you can’t brush all of their teeth, you’d might be able to just smear the toothpaste on there, dog toothpaste is enzymatic and can get the teeth clean without the rubbing motions. Just hold water for like 10 minutes after so it really gets to do it’s thing.
Magnus learnt stairs very quickly. Scout was scared at first and I had to carry her up and down the stairs. We practiced on fewer steps outside and then built up from there. Now both will run up and down the stairs. Sounds like a thunder storm.
