Hey Pawpaw, I am from Birmingham, grew up in Eastlake. I am in South Louisiana now. I go to Alabama about 4 times a year and there is no other state that is so pretty the way HOME is! I learned how to can from my mom and and my memaw. I am now 63. I hope when I retire to move back to my roots since I miss it so much!

Your Papaw is so very precious. The memories it brings back to me with my mamaw & papaw bring tears to my eyes. They were a huge part of my raising with my dad passing when I was only 14 and being an only child. They were my mom’s parents & ran a lil country store. I remember canning, drying beans, beets out in an iron kettle in the yard, and processing chickens. My upbringing in SE KY was similar to yours I believe. I’m almost 60 now, but your videos always bless my soul. Thank you Tiffany! You have a beautiful family! Your walk with our Lord is so special to see and hear you share about. I have a sweet neighbor here who recently gave me a jar of pear preserves and it was delicious. I also recently had apple butter on toast and it brought back lots of memories of my childhood. Hey PaPa😊 My grandpa was an avid gardener who loved to grow and share with family and friends. Some of my favorite memories are working in the garden with him and grandma picking strawberries and other produce they'd planted. My mom was one of their 11 children so gatherings were always loud with good food to be had! Hand churning the ice-cream was another great memories of time spent with him! He's been gone for many years so all I have are the precious memories of times with them both❤️

Tiffany, I know you and Paw Paw really miss your grandmother. I could feel her being in her kitchen “overseeing” the process. I sure miss my Grandparents. They both lived to be in their late 80’s and I’m grateful for that. My Mother will soon be 99. In really good health. Like you, I spent a lot of time with my grandparents. “Mamma Johnson” taught me all about flowers, how to sew and cook. I sure miss them. Love you and appreciate you too, Joy

Hello pawpaw . I am from South west jefferson county alabama. I enjoy pear preserves also. My pawpaw who has been passed many years ago he had a huge pear tree in the yard and us grand kids were task to pick all the pears when they got ripe. We would always get a #3 wash tub full and he made preserves and jelly out of them. His property was full of fruit trees . Apple,fig,peach,plum,pear, grapes,chestnut,and a weird apple type tree the fruit had fuzz on it like a peach but it was like a apple inside and was bitter it would draw your mouth up. He cooked it and it tasted good. I very much enjoyed the video . Reminded me of my childhood. Those days were very different from today.

Hello Pawpaw. We have an abundance of pears this year. We enjoy pear cobblers, made pear sauce (like applesauce used pears instead of apples), and put up pears to make cobblers with this winter. We have pear preserves left from last year. Live in Bessemer, AL. LOVE watching your videos.

Hi pawpaw my mommy used to make pear preserved and they were so good. She lived in Kentucky and her and granddaddy were sharecroppers. They grew tobacco back then so I grew up helping strip tobacco. Anyways she didn't cook anything fancy but there was always enough to eat and oh so good. They didn't have pecans so many made pecan pies with hickory nuts ,delicious. Hope you have a wonderful week. My Mama taught me and my siblings how to can and put up everything grown in garden. Now my children are carrying on traditions. She always covered pears with the sugar, covered the pan put in refrigerator overnight. I do same. The sugar melts overnight and is ready to start cooking. Love pear preserves. Good with biscuits and cheddar cheese! I live in Montgomery, but was born and raised in Mississippi. Enjoy your videos and your sweet family!
