*SQUIDWARD:* Mr. Krabs- *MR. KRABS:* Mr. Krabs nothing! *SQUIDWARD:* Aw, come on- *MR. KRABS:* Mr. Krabs nothing! *SQUIDWARD:* But, if you just give me one- *MR. KRABS:* Mr. Krabs nothing! Mr. Krabs nothing! Mr. Krabs nothing! Just go ahead. I’m gonna keep saying it. *SQUIDWARD:* I won’t stand here, and take that from you. I’m going back to work.
0:57 - The staff missed out on a really good opportunity to use clips from older episodes, like "Karate Choppers", "Grandma's Kisses", and maybe even "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie". Instead, they just used the same cel of SpongeBob crying over different backgrounds.
Fun fact - the staff have said that even during the first three seasons, they would always try to find ways to make SpongeBob cry in each episode. It was that funny to them.
Stubbing a toe, Ripping your favorite shirt, Listening to sad music, A Krabby patty falling off, and Squidward yelling at him is sad and created the worst day of his life
No offense, but Squidward had it coming in this SpongeBob SquarePants episode (A Day Without Tears) for attempting to cheat on the bet he made by making SpongeBob cry on purpose so he can win the bet and make SpongeBob do all of his chores for a whole year. I don't think that it's legal for anyone to cheat on a bet that the person had made for his/her own benefits.
Reasons: * Stub his toe. * Rip his pants. * Sad music play. * Patty on the floor. * Gets yelled at. * Patty on the floor again. * Obviously outta his favorite cereal. * Failed driving as usual. * Broken jellyfish net. * Has to go to the bathroom badly. * Missed the bus. * Squidswards attempts to make him cry.
I get the feeling that the entire genesis of this episode was that someone on the writing staff got tired of criticism that SpongeBob "cries too much."
Unfortunately, it’s essentially less of said writer actually taking the criticism and genuinely improving, and more like the same aforementioned writer basically gratuitously snapping and going completely berserk.
0:43- 0:55 I think SpongeBob is just having flashbacks to that rude customer from ‘Pizza Delivery’. Plus, even though it may seem annoying to watch and listen to, some of the reasons why he was crying WERE actually valid. I mean, stubbing your time can really hurt. After all, Mr. Krabs did too, back in ‘Sailor Mouth’ after his stream foul words accidentally ripping your favourite shirt is pretty bad luck, and music can affect you in strange ways. Looking back on this episode, it’s not really as bad as some people make it out to be, it’s okay, but it just feels very random and out of character. Like when did SpongeBob suddenly develop this trait, when he usually portrayed as a happy-go-lucky sponge, who can be serious and fall people out on their (SHRIMP) when he needs to
Which is even ironic and hypocritical of Squidward to do that to SpongeBob as he was the one who stood up for SpongeBob in Pizza Delivery after a rude customer heavily scolded SB for forgetting the customer's drink.
Montage of Tears 1 - SpongeBob flipped the Patty outside of the stove and into the ground 2 - SpongeBob's favorite snack is out of stock at the Bargin Mart 3 - SpongeBob failed his driving test 4 - Broken Jellyfishing Net 5 - The stalls are taken at the Krusty Krab 6 - SpongeBob missed the bus
0:57 SpongeBob has cried in scenes 1. Dropping the Patty in the Krusty Krab 2. SpongeBob's favorite snack, OUT OF STOCK at the Barg N' Mart. 3. Failed his driving test at Mrs. Puff's Boating School. 4. His Jellyfish Net is broken. 5. The stalls are taken in the Krusty Krab 6. SpongeBob missed the bus.
1:32 Mr. Krabs: Well, At least we're still together little ones! Mr. Krabs hold the monies getting away from a flood of crying sponge that's like soaking.
But just imagine that they're not showing Squidward holding down SpongeBob's hand on the grill and SpongeBob is trying to tell him "stop it burns". (Just an idea not the real thing)
Yeah, I’m definitely on Squidward’s side regarding this, not only is an absurdly heavy amount of crying and sobbing like this extremely irritating and annoying, it’s also just as equally unhealthy, too.
Maybe, but Squidward did end up cheating on the bet he made on SpongeBob crying though since I don't think it's legal for anyone to cheat on a bet a person just made some time ago. But to be fair, SpongeBob did had a right to cry when he stubbed his toe as in real life, stubbing your own toe is extremely painful for anyone to face with.
@@VampireFan-rf5kb well, it’s really not so much for things like stubbing your toe, what’s unhealthy is when you cry extremely hard and equally as often for many very petty and insignificant reasons.
OK I’m just gonna say this: SpongeBob did have his rights To cry. But I also agree that crying that much is definitely unhealthy, And if you’re crying when you’re sick he can make you stop breathing…..
Though one theory I have heard about the reason why SpongeBob had cried after Squidward was yelling at him was due to flashbacks of the Season 1 SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Pizza Delivery" when a customer furiously scolded SpongeBob for forgetting his drink with his krabby patty pizza. In which to make matters worse for SpongeBob, Squidward yelling at him only made the flashbacks to Pizza Delivery worse as Squidward was the one who stood up for SpongeBob after that customer furiously scolded him for forgetting his drink. Considering that SpongeBob usually trusts Squidward as one of his best friends and even cares about him as well too.
A few days after Sandy left and never came back from Texas as SpongeBob wouldn't stop crying because Sandy left Bikini Bottom for good... Sandy: Goodbye Bikini Bottom!! Goodbye SpongeBob and Goodbye Patrick!!
SpongeBob cries more than Pearl. There’s an episode where Pearl is about to cry and SpongeBob tries to calm her down only for him to cry instead and run off crying making Pearl feel guilty.
*SQUIDWARD:* Krabby Patty nothing! *SPONGEBOB:* Aw, come on! *SQUIDWARD:* Krabby Patty nothing! *SPONGEBOB:* But, the krabby patty- *SQUIDWARD:* Krabby Patty nothing! Krabby Patty nothing! Krabby Patty nothing! *SPONGEBOB:* I won’t stand here, and take that from you. I’m making another krabby patty.
That’s what I was thinking. SpongeBob should’ve made another Patty instead of wailing over being yelled at. Yes, yelling can make anyone cry (if they’re emotionally sensitive that is), but like I said, SpongeBob really should’ve cooked up another Patty.
0:57 1. Patty on the floor 2. No money for kelpo 3. Mrs. Puffs is angry 😡 4. Rip net 5. He can't clean the toilets 6. Bus is waiting for you Spongebob is cry now😢😢😢😢😢😢
At the end, Squidward is crying because he’s forced to stay with SpongeBob at his house for the slumber party as he lost the bet, Squidward is like “oh, why did I ever make that lousy bet?”
Indeed. Squidward brought this one onto himself, which is why I don’t think the “Squidward torture porn” label should apply here. Besides, Squidward was an asshole in this episode by trying to make him cry, especially when he realizes how annoying it is. I never hear people talk about how unlikable Squidward is in this episode.
0:57 Reasons I think he’s crying. 1.He dropped the patty. 2.They were out of what wanted/needed. 3. He failed his boating test AGAIN. 4.broke his jellyfish net. 5.Not sure. 6.He missed the bus.
He wasn't able to make it to the toilet in time and had an accident and is crying because he feels embarrassed by the fact that he had an accident in public.
Dude, back when I was 5, I found the episode relatable for all the crying here and what I did. Can you tell I was just a kid. That's at least how I remember it, that was years ago.
I don't get why Squidward refused to let SpongeBob speak when he tried to explain that he dropped a Krabby Patty after Mr. Krabs inadvertently scared him.
0:57 1: the patty fell on the floor. 2: What I wanted is sold out. 3: Mrs. Puff yelled at me. (my image) 4: My net is broken. 5: It is occupied everywhere. 6: The bus isn't coming.
0:57 dropped a Krabby Patty 0:58 didn't have enough money to buy item 0:59 failed boating exam 1:00 broke jellyfishing net 1:02 clogged toilet 1:04 missed the bus
Out of all of the moments with SpongeBob crying in this episode, him stubbing his toe is one of the main times where he does have a right to cry since stubbing your toe is extremely painful in real life.
Those particular scenes is the exact reason why I hate this SpongeBob episode A Day Without Tears! SpongeBob couldn't stop crying over everything in this episode! I literally cringed at those scenes
I wonder why SpongeBob was crying in the supermarket, the bathroom, and the bus stop but the kitchen, boating school, and jellyfish fields, we know why
SpongeBob drops a Krabby Patty on the floor. The supermarket didn't have what SpongeBob wanted. SpongeBob fails his boating exam... *again...* SpongeBob breaks his jellyfishing net. SpongeBob clogs one of the toilets or whatnot. SpongeBob misses the bus to Neptune knows where.
The first theory I have found out about the reason why SpongeBob was crying when Squidward had yelled at him was SpongeBob was probably getting flashbacks at that guy who furiously scolded him for forgetting his drink with his krabby patty pizza in the Season 1 SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Pizza Delivery." Though to make matters worse here, Squidward is yelling at SpongeBob instead since Squidward was the one who stood up for SpongeBob when that guy scolded the latter for forgetting his drink with his pizza.
Another theory that I have found out about the reason why SpongeBob was crying when Squidward had yelled at him was that for SpongeBob, he becomes upset at the fact that the person who is yelling at him is the one of the people he always trusted, befriended, and even cared about in SpongeBob's whole life: Squidward. Kind of like when Squidward harshly pranked SpongeBob with his own April Fool's prank at The Krusty Krab in the Season 1 SpongeBob SquarePants episode "Fools in April," for example.
Omg... I feel so bad for him that I wanna jump in the episode, pour him a drink, and rub his back while telling him it's ok and there's no reason to cry anymore. Plus you're right that he does have bottled up feelings and fills up with tears until he's sick of this nonsense and can't take it anymore, plus I can't help but feel bad for him even if he is a so called "crybaby".
