They’re nice buses. I remember seeing them up in Yorkshire around 2011 and thinking they looked incredible. Personally I think they suit the 84 much better than the MMCs with how much Wigston have ruined theirs. They should debrand them and put them on the 31.
4748 is in the questions in everyone's mind atm, when will she leave or where will she leave, I've got to be honest I never thought any of the DB250s would be transferred, never the less 4748 is a good one I've rarely had her but she doesn't disappoint Btw I'm off on Saturday to see the preserved 4706 Lowlander
I think there’s still a bit of work to do on 4706 so I don’t think it’ll be there. The owner’s decided to take 3704 instead. 32059 will be there, which is what I’m after, along with Leyland Olympians United Counties 654, and ex-Arriva Fox 4528, and if I’ve got time, 825 the Scania L94.
@@leicestertravels4705 Some very exciting buses going to be there, maybe if Arriva allow it then 4752 Foxy herself might be there I've been trying to ride on a DAF Lowlander for ages as I've never been on one, probably should just go off to Yorkshire to get one
@@leicesterbusvideos32068 I’m sure there’s not that much to do on it. Say they host a similar event at the First depot in July, I’m sure it’ll be there. Tbh the owner only bought it for the enthusiasts. His pride and joy’s 3704.
So I went on the 153 on Friday and it was 4750 (ZSV) then when I got to desford it didn't want to change gears the driver said it was doing 10 mph. I've never seen that happened. I got back to town with 4749 ZSU and had a good thrash
4749 has been on my checklist for 2 and a half years. 4750 on the other hand, I had it on the 127 in April 2018 and it wasn’t particularly great then. I just assume now that all the light blue ones are heaps (apart from 4767 and 4772 which I’ve had good runs on, though that was also in 2018).
Yeah the blue db250s seem to be in more bad shape than the rest but 4772 I like because I always have a good thrash, 4752 is also nice since it has a loud voith.
@@applesbuses4761 Loud voith? Bring it on I say. For what it’s worth, 4752 ought to be back at Wigston, it’s Leicester’s only remaining depot from Midland Red days.
I didn't know the 152 was a thrashy route, I went on the 13:45 152 to market Bosworth via Desford neovia and it was a thrashy part with a lot of countryside
@Chiltern Transport Productions The 153 turns off the A47 at Kirby Muxloe, whereas the 152 stays on a bit longer to serve the Caterpillar Works in Desford, effectively skipping Kirby Muxloe.
What’s happened to all the Sapphire B7TL’s I know one of them is still in Wigston but I’ve tried searching different Arriva fleet lists to see where the other ones have gone to but there’s nothing.
They’re all gone, finished before Christmas. They’re in Maidstone now, but not yet in service, I don’t even know what their new numbers are. It has been saying 4003’s been running here this week but it wasn’t, it was 3109, but that’s tracking correctly now. 4003 hadn’t actually done a full day’s service since September.
Not at the moment. I’ll give them another month. Most of them aren’t in the best condition with Wigston’s maintenance in recent years (just look at the MMCs). The same can apply for the B9TLs. For example, everyone kept saying that 4207 was the best one in the fleet, but guess what? They had to tow it to Maidstone.
Should have seen the outdated Gem 106 ads they had on most of the Lowlanders back in 2011. By 2014, it was like they’d removed them, thrown them in a muddy puddle and then stuck them back on.
I know you miss them. I do to, but it was nearly 5 years ago now. There wasn't any shortages, they just wanted the VLWs instead. But after this month, they'll finally be history when 4028 finally goes to scrap. It should have been that one last year and 4027 running up to now as I'll admit that was one was quite good. I can remember feeling the same for the ALX400s at the same time. All that misery, inconvenience and painful slow journeys, especially on the A607 finally no more. For some positive news, a photo of 4701 sat in Wrexham was posted on a heritage page recently, just beckoning someone to preserve it. They should as it was one of our best ones, a bit like Trent's 656, and apparently 66320 has been donated to the LTHT.
@@leicestertravels4705 yes I read it. lol. On sunday I got one of these buses and the step was very high, it was on the 87 1725 to Ereys Monsell, it showed up 45 minutes late and we had to change onto a normal Enviro400 (ex derby ones)
