Color theory - specifically systems of color order and harmony - should serve to build an artist's confidence in their own internal color sense, not restrict them. This idea is central to color educator and fiber artist Erika Mulvenna's workshop. In this interview, Erika shared her own color theory journey, and we discussed the difference between traditional pigment-based color wheels, and Erika's wheel, which is based in the opponent process theory of color perception.
