This ride made me laugh hysterically with my friends at every turn because of how ridiculous it was. We even stayed in the gift shop for half an hour. I don't care what anyone says it's a great attraction!
I always love bringing people on it for the first time just to see their reactions! I don't think anyone gets in line expecting it to end with Eric Idle as the moon...
Great video! I definitely don't dislike the current version, but I think its problem is it's always going to carry the scars of JIYI until some actual substantial effort is put into it to give it a proper redo (which Disney will probably never do rip). Also the moving of the butterfly effect is one of my fav tidbits about the change. There's some great symbolism somewhere there about Disney finally freeing Imagination when they updated the ride. Looking forward to the next vid!
Thanks! I doubt even the team working on the transition from JIYI to Figment expected this version to last this long lol Thanks for the comment and love your videos!
I just found your channel, and have really enjoy what you’ve been serving up thus far! I particularly enjoyed the Toon Lagoon and photopass videos, because essentially nobody has made content about those, whereas I have definitely seen plenty of videos about all three iterations of Journey into Imagination. That said, I should say that I most definitely agree with your points, imagineering did a great job with what they were working with, I’ll always have a soft spot for this silly ride. There’s definitely no harm in covering topics that others have covered because everyone is gonna have their own different perspective, and I really enjoyed seeing your’s. That said, I found you specifically because of the Toon Lagoon video, a topic that I have always loved, but absolutely never get to see explored. Definitely take or leave my comment though, because you’ve already earned my subscription, I’ll be sticking around regardless of what direction you travel.
Appreciate your feedback, I definitely want to lean more into completely untapped topics or what remains of that in the theme park world. I'm really excited about the next one because it's pretty unique and also a perspective I think I'm very much in the minority of.
I just found your channel and i know your new so i just wanted to tell u to never stop posting because i honestly find your videos so interesting and you seem like such a cool person. Hope you continue to upload in the future :)
Figment, living with the land and spaceship earth, are the only happy thoughts I have of Epcot anymore. I didn’t renew my pass this year as going now feels like a chore. I still have my universal pass tho!
I don't hate the current version--but I never got to see the original, which is a shame. This is going to sound weird, but when I was a teenager living at home in Colorado not knowing what the eff I was going to do with my life but knowing I wanted something more and knowing I wanted to get a change of scenery, I remember listening to one of my WDW albums that I'd gotten on a trip down here while wishing I was still in Florida and wallowing in a sad girl 'feeling stuck' funk in my room. "One Little Spark" came on and I had never really paid it much attention before since I had no attachment to the ride, but this time one of the lines just grabbed me. "So many times, we're stumbling in the dark. But then, Eureka! What a spark." And in that moment I was like, oh damn...I could move there! It was like this one line in a song I'd never really felt inspired by from an attraction I'd never actually gone on lit a fire in me and rattled something awake that I didn't know existed in my brain--and from that one little moment most people would view as a throwaway minute in a normal day, I started formulating a plan to get down here--did the thing and never looked back. Moved here, worked for the Mouse for a decade, left when the time felt right, started my photography company, and despite all the weirdness that Florida throws at me (like daily), I don't regret my decision for a second. It's odd how one little silly moment and one line in a song could be catalysts for what I have now. I'm including Figment in a multiple piece tattoo I'm working on because of this. Anyways, that was a long stupid way of saying I loved this video, and thank you! Keep uploading because you have a great voice and I appreciate your knowledge and perspective for this kind of thing. Cheers!
Love your channel man. Theme park channels can be pretty cringe but you come of as genuine and not performative. I wish more channels would just calm down lol. I appreciate the lack of refrence cutaways and 10000 Db meme sound effects.
