A definitive ranking and review of the OUTLANDER books | I LOVE this series 

Favorite Outlander Books: 1. Written in my own hearts blood 2. Voyger 3. Dragonfly in Amber (NOT A DUD!) 4. Outlander 5. Go tell the Bees 6. Snow & Ashes 7. Firey Cross 8. Drums of Autumn 9. Echo 10. Honorable mention-Lord John novel "The Scottish Prisoner", Graphic Novel-"The Exile" and novella-"Virgins". Love the Bree and Roger story in Echo. I think it is the way the characters persevere through suffering and loss that is appealing to me. And that is why I love "Dragonfly & Voyager" so much. The character development, romance and commitment to history also intrigues me....the time travel aspect is under represented as far as I'm concerned. Loved the series.

So glad I found this! I'm only halfway through Drums of Autumn right now but so far my ranking of the 3 ive finished matches how you set those 3 as well. Was a little worried that most of the others seem to rank lower in your opinion but now I'm super excited to get to your top pick. Though I'm liking Drums of Autumn well enough, not as much as Voyager, so its always nice to have something to look forward to!

Awesome review! Thank you. I've read/audiobooked all the books but it was such a long time ago, I wanted a refresh before I started reading Book 9. I loved the recap, not having so many spoilers. I am definitely reading back book 7 and 8 before reading book 9. Super recommend this series of books and your review was spot on!

I like a lot of your takes. Thank you for the video. I really love Rachel too. She's such a wonderful characrer. The whole Rachel/Ian/Jenny family are my favorite characters outside of jamie and claire for sure. As for rankings, 4 and 5 really were among my least favorite as well. 5, 4 and the new one really are my least favorites. 5 being the only one i struggle to get through. If i were to make an order id say. 3, 1, 8, 7, 2, 6, 4, 9, 5. I love a breath of show an ashes, it's definitely the best "life on the ridge" book for sure. It has some many of the mlst touching moments in the whole series. And despite it being so long i just breeze through it. 7 and 8 just edge it out for me because i really do like william, and as a history person, the war and soldiering part just suck me in. Also thinking the end up 7 and beginning of 8 might be my favorite section of the whole series. I do like 2 more than you do, but i can get why many dislike it compared to others, because it is one of the most depressing books for sure.

I am a series watcher, contemplating reading the books but do not think I can live through Black Jack or Stephen Bonnett again. Those characters were tough to watch and Black Jack seemed like he lived forever so I know his character will drag in the books. 🤦🏽‍♀️
