In this video we demonstrate the NuEyes electronic glasses, a great new device which is worn like a pair of glasses and allows a user to magnify and improve the contrast of whatever they are looking at! NuEyes have a computer built in, meaning there are huge possibilities for future features, which all users will be able to download for free.

Could you make a video comparing NuEyes, eSight3 and Iris Vision.
@ChiLighthouse

Hey Stefan, unfortunately it's very dependent on the individual as to which one works best for them, so the only way to find out is for a person to try them all for themselves and make up their own mind. I have made videos on NuEyes, eSight and Iris so try watching them all and seeing what you think. Thanks for watching!
@stefanytterbrink4309

Thank you for the reply! I can understand your point and the cost differs also very much. Almost by factor 2 from Iris to NuEyes to eSight. But it would still be very interesting so s a comparison between NuEyes and eSight. Do they differ more than in the amount of magnification that they provide and that NuEyes also hosts an Android system? How about the cameras and the screens? How about picture stabilisation? Does the processor in the eSight have more processing power to adjust the picture han the NuEyes has? The feature that eSight has when connecting a hdmi cable to watch video/tv is that better than the way it works on the NuEyes? When using Android on the NE is there a general magnification feature managing the system and using other apps? Having optical atrophy would that suggest a preference of one specific? Is he price differens of 6 resp 10 k reflecting the ability and technical spec? Would eSight be over kill for some and NE not sufficient for some in comparison? Watching videos with users it is difficult to understand what makes them different except what I mentioned above. Just covering the two of them more in depth could give a better understand for us who are in the process of making a choice. Living in Europe eSight is going to be available and I have no info about the other ones. Because having the opportunity to compare at the same time would of course be the absolutely best alternativ. Thank you for the interesting videos! I will keep on watching!

Hello, I have a son with Bilateral Glaucoma congenital disease, at the moment 8 years old and has difficulty reading normally and to avoid some obstacles in walking, I would like to know, from Chile, if these products serve for a better quality of life.
@ChiLighthouse
@ChiLighthouse 7 лет назад
Hi Freddy, assistive technology devices can certainly increase quality of life. The important thing is to select the right device for the right job, and a person with a visual impairment is likely to have multiple devices for multiple different purposes. For walking a cane is the best tool, and learning to use one correctly will help your son avoid obstacles when walking. For reading, there are many devices both portable and desktop which might be of assistance at home and in school. It is best if at all possible to go to a low vision center where some of these devices might be available to try with your son. Thanks for watching!

Q: Do people that are partially blind or completely blind gain the temporary ability to 'see' objects in front of them; or are they only given the 'ability' to see shapes? In other words how much definition of target objects will users be able to see?

Do you know if a sight impaired person can get a prescription for this device. I am concerned about getting arrested for going into public places to pay bills. Most places won't allow cameras. Perhaps with a prescription they won't bother me and I can pay my own utility bills.

Hi Shawn, NuEyes have said that some people have been able to get their device through insurance, your best course of action is to reach out to NuEyes at 800-605-4033

hı.İam retina patient anda İ am a low vision person.I also use OCUTECH telescopic glasses but it is not enough for my vision.İ need to change my glasses.What is RU-vid advice about CCTV galsses.Nueyes or esight which is best? I think Nueyes consist of uncable that's why ı think nueyes but What is your advice which glasses i also prefer?
@ChiLighthouse
@ChiLighthouse 7 лет назад
Hi Cem, It's hard to say which is better because it really depends on which one works best for your vision. eSight is the only head-borne device you can walk with, and it has HDMI in capabilities so if those are important then it will be the best device. NuEyes can be used wire free, and has OCR capabilities which eSIght does not have. There is another device called IrisVision (we did a video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XnM-pLoqbwc.html) which has the largest screens of any of the devices, and also is the cheapest. As you can tell they all have advantages and disadvantages, so it's hard to say which is best!

And ı also know the some information about this devices? ı also wonder which devices is suitable for walking? and ı Also asked so much questions sorry gör this but this is very important for us (low vision patients) how much time ı used a full charge? Please güve us information
@ChiLighthouse
@ChiLighthouse 7 лет назад
Hi Cem, the only head-borne device designed to walk with is eSight. Battery life for eSIght is around 4 hours, after which you can connect it to an external battery for another 4 hours. NuEyes runs wirelessly for an hour and a half, after which you can connect an external battery for another 6 hours. IrisVision runs for around 4 hours. Thanks!

Sır ı need to learn final questions please answer do you know seebost and cyber eyez glasses? I need to know how are they? What's the differences between of this glasses?
@ChiLighthouse
@ChiLighthouse 7 лет назад
See Boost is a monocular camera built into a pair of glasses. It works well, the image is decent and it is lightweight. I haven't tried Cyber Eyez but I know that Sam from the Blind Spot RU-vid channel had a bad experience with the device. It repeatedly crashed on him and didn't perform well. You can see that video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ENYOqtJZck8.html

Would this help with RP and peripheral vision? Also, does it block the vision you have at all? Maybe that seems silly.
@ChiLighthouse
@ChiLighthouse 7 лет назад
Hi, yep it certainly can help with RP. It does sit in front of your eyes, so you obviously can't see around it but that's not a problem as you're looking into the video screens anyway.

The Chicago Lighthouse Adaptive Technology Center Thanks a million. I'm actually looking for navigation aids. I've seen something like smart glasses that takes a small picture and places it inside the larger view. It brings a wider view (periphrial) into the smaller area, but leaves it transparent so the immediate image remains. Not sure but it looked good.

ı also ise OCUTECH but is 9.6 degree ı also ses 20/100 its suitable for me? ıts suitable for walking?
@ChiLighthouse
@ChiLighthouse 7 лет назад
The benefit to any of these devices is that you can control the magnification, which you can't do with your Ocutech bioptic. They are definitely suitable for 20/100 vision! The device with the widest field of view in our experience is the IrisVision. The only one designed to walk with is eSight. Thanks!
