I love the no bullshit attitude. I love hearing the actual science behind things and hearing about all of the blatant lies we’re fed as consumers. So happy I found your channel, so I can actually have reasons behind skincare that’s backed by facts
@@natpat4094 , That's wrong! Her skin is perfect! Smooth, beautiful tone, unblemished, healthy looking. You must be getting "good" mixed up with the caked-on, made up highly clown -face-look of some of these other RU-vidrs!! Makeup gurus-==🤡 Dr. DRAY ===👧 U SEE THE DIFFERENCE?
Your suggestion of short contact with salicylic acid has saved my skin! No more irritation, redness and flaking! I just apply a layer of the face wash, brush my teeth and rinse off after the 2 minutes! My chin pimples are losing this battle 💪🏻
@@DrDrayzday I just found your channel and I am so glad I did. I am 54 years old & I am just now starting to take care of my skin. In your opinion should I use salicylic acid in the morning or do you think I should start off with just a gentle cleanser ? My skin is regular, but dry at times around my nose. Thank you
Dr Dray, the difference between the advice you give vs other beauty “gurus” is night and day. I can’t even count how many fallacies I hear out of the mouths of those who have had no training or schooling in medicine or skincare and I see so many women throwing away thousands of dollars on marketing ploys because these so-called “gurus” tell them it will change their lives. The fact that you are giving those same women medical advice based in science and backed up by legit medical studies and not consumerism and taking the time to shoot and edit all of these videos makes you a saint in my book! Thank you for all of your wisdom and selfless sacrifice of your precious time.
I just watched some skincare video by somebody called Elle. She talked such nonsense but in such know it all manner. Marketing is such bull designed to separate gullible people from their money. People need to listen to what a medical doctor has to say and not some Sephora salesperson.
Lmao cause doctors are always right? Haha NOT! Hylauronic acid can't penetrate the skin because the molecules are too big...so her yapping about water loss...makes her sound like an idiot. Superficial water drawing ingredients don't prevent dry skin...so let's pretend it's hydrated..because a doctor said to put a layer on your face lmao
Carolina Ochoar me too! I have stopped using tap water because here in indonesia the water is very hard. My sensitive eczema prone skin is getting so much better the less i use tap water. Even people said my hair is so much more black than usual (they didnt know i wash my hair only 2x a week to reduce contact with tap water at all)
I'm not getting all the folks with a 'thumbs down' for Dr. Dray's video here. She's GREAT. Honest, authentic and accurate. So much garbage out there when it comes to skincare, makeup, etc. Finding her really refreshing and a good guru for skincare guidance.
PM skin care 1. Wash your hands first 2. Take off mascara and sun screen with oil based cleansers 3. Wash the oil with a water based cleanser 4. Dont dry your face with towel and use Gel cream to face 5. Moisturizer 6. Healing ointments to parts of the face where you don't want tretinoin such as eyes 7. Apply tretinoin to the moisturized dry face
companies should pay you because I seriously just bought everything in your routine! but because I trust your knowledge & have seen how honest you are when you don't care for a product
I feel like I'm being naughty with all of my "exotic" moisturizer and not putting enough sunscreen but I like it. Dr. Dray saved my skin and bank account though. Love her 😍
@@HiBye-gm7vz for me so far so good, I also started using tretinoin.. using the day cerave and night cerave with their eye cream. I went ahead and purchased the body cream too! Loving my new products ♡ no problems
Dr Dray, your channel has changed my life! I was never a big makeup-wearer and never stepped out to tan/use tanning beds, but my lifelong concerns have always been hyperpigmentation. Your tips, simple skincare routine, and guidance have helped me reach a great point! I threw out almost all my skincare products (that I bought from Sephora out of total desperation), bought some of the things you have recommended, been more diligent about sunscreens, and I have never felt better about my skin health. Thank you so so much!
I'm a little confused why we even have beauty RU-vidrs - like a dermatologist knows exactly what is working and what is a gimmick, speaks from authority, and has that expert knowledge, like I'm thinking dermatologists are the people we should be listening to not like ya know "a guru."
Hi Dr. Dray. I’m an esthetician in Colorado and the state requires we apply sunscreen at the end of every facial. Thank you for confirming how important this step is when completing a facial.
Angela Bucciarelli Is sunscreen this necessary, though? Most sunscreens last between 4-8 hours, so I don't see the point in reapplying so often and with such liberal amounts.
Just discovered this video a few weeks ago and incorporated most of these products into my routine and it has already made a world of difference in my acne. As someone who struggled as a teenager with severe cystic acne (trying every OTC product under the sun, many prescriptions, and ultimately accutane) and now a health care worker that wears a mask 8 plus hours per day, my acne had come back with a vengeance. Thankfully, after a few weeks of a solid routine my face feels better than it has I think in my entire life. Thank you so much Dr Gray!
I saw these RU-vid esthesicians reacting to your skincare routine and complaining how you're doing it wrong lol like yeah really, they know more than a dermatologist... Give me a break... I just want to thank you for convincing me to get sunscreen, thank you so much!
Thulisile Madi same honestly, I cringe whenever I think back to the days where I was washing my face with baking soda and Castile soap, pouring lemon juice on my skin and slathering it with coconut oil thinking it would cure my acne
My problem is I get a sample of an expensive product. Then, I watch her videos to make me not want to actually purchase them, but usually she says she actually enjoys them! Uuuuuuuuhhhhhh
@@HeatherKruel Well, it's made from a lot of comedogenic oils which can clog your pores, like coconut oil... Generally, you want to use noncomedogenic products on your face as it's less clogging and irritating.
Well, we live in Texas: the SUNBELT. And with the damage to our atmosphere over the past 50 years we just don’t have the protection we once had. It REALLY is noticeable in my lifetime! (I’m 73.) A 10 minute walk twice a day to and from a parked car to your office is 20 minutes in the blazing sun. Walking to lunch or to run an errand adds time. One can easily spend 30-45 in the sun and work in an office! We wear long sleeve shirts in pools OVER sunscreen or wait until sundown to swim. With young children it’s quite difficult. 75 SPF is a MUST! You can LITERALLY fry an egg on my driveway in The summer. Yup! It’s HOT here! 🌹
@@robinholbrook6576 that's rrally dangerous for the citizens there.. and to think that we are no longer going to be in accord with the rest of the world about climate change😵😥
@@helpmetosleep yep the fact that the us gets blamed for everything to do with climate change is mind boggling. China and India are disgusting countries that dont give two shits about the environment or living critters that deserve to live free and in a clean place. Now we have the coronavirus from China surprise surprise!
I never leave comments but I’m blessed to have come across your channel!!! Such a fan and you’re amazing for sharing all your knowledge to the public. Thank you so much for everything you do you’re so appreciated! P.s. I basically adopted your skincare routine and my skin has improved almost instantly❤️ Now I’m saving so much money by not buying those overpriced skincare products that are actually not even as good as normal drugstore brands. THANK YOU
I literally have a list on amazon called “dr dray products” that I am planning on purchasing haha! I just came across your channel and I absolutely love how informative you are on everything! Thank you! 🙏🏻
Just found your channel and I'm in love! It's so refreshing to see someone with an actual clinical background give real information and evidence based advice. I've just taken screenshots of all of your recommended products so I can go on a shopping spree as I've been finding skin care so overwhelming and over the top that i just haven't bothered. I hope your channel blows up because you're amazing!!
Loving the simplicity of all your skincare routines and the no-nonsense products you recommended. Congratulations to 90k subscribers and hoping you will hit 100k soon so that more people can be educated through your channel. Thank you Dr Dray and have a wonderful week ahead! 😘
I cannot exaggerate how much I love and appreciate this woman. As someone that doesn't have the time or copays to keep following up with my dermatologist- she is a miracle worker. The Hydro boost was a game changer for me! There is no BS with her, I have zero trouble understanding her- it's refreshing that she doesn't dumb down the info. Annndd... her obsession with sunscreen gives me life!! 🤣💙
bro I love this woman. Just her vibe and everything. I just started tretinoin and I've been researching a lot about it and the purging is really lowering my self confidence but watching this video made me happy and also gave me a lot of clarity.
Went to comment about how sassy you were in this video and people beat me to it... I love it immensely. Your skincare advice has done WONDERS for my skin.
PS, LOVE your lectures, but at times you make me laugh out loud, because of your sense of humor ---it really helps to lighten up because these subjects are serious and should be taken as such.
i love when she says "I just woke up i wasn't rolling around the mud" So true!!! really love your videos! thank you so not putting a fake persona and staying real if that makes any sense.
I have really awful acne and I recently went to the dermatologist for the first time and he has prescribed Tretinoin to me. I'm about to reach the one month mark since I started and my skin has improved so much! I couldn't be happier
Anyone else notice “toilet water” in the list of things to avoid? While true, I can’t help but think that was put in there for some comedic relief. 🤣 Currently screenshotting the whole description box so I can shop.
@@Mrsqtfactory I was going to make the same comment. Many on here probably don't remember seeing those bottles or weren't old enough to be interested in browsing the aisles of department and drug stores where those products, named as such, were on display/available.
This is honestly so helpful, skincare videos always have so many produts for like £50 each. This routine is so much more simple and affordable and has actual scientific facts to back it up. Thank you so much xx
Hi Dr Dray. It's my first time using Retin-A for acne and I found your video/routine very helpful. Also, I used to wash my face, waited it to dry and then apply a moisturizer, and thanks to you I learn about epidermal water loss and now I put it right after washing with my face wet to lock the water in place for that plumped and hydrated skin. Because I have oily skin, I always dislike to wear sunscreen but now I know it is fundamental for our skin health and can't live the house without it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.
I’m so glad I found your channel! You’re such a breath of fresh air. A real person being herself and giving loads of useful information! Thank you SO much! You’re also so funny and entertaining to watch!
How much time and effort one needs to jump, turn and avoid all the marketing lies to get to what really matters... I live in sweden, a lot of the good HA products that’s listed in the video is not available and it took me awhile to find one that’s locally produced. Thank you so so much for sharing the truth! 💖💖💖
So nice of you to give honest sweet smile in the video to make a pause and let information absorb between each step. Your channel is a treasure when selecting thoughtful gift and improving every day hygiene. Thank you so much !
I used to wear makeup during the day, but not anymore. It is all about the sunscreen, thanks to you Dr. Dray. Day time is all about the spf. I want to wear gloves to protect my hands, but I live in NYC, and I feel self conscious doing so :( But sunscreen is life now, your channel is ground-breaking. Skincare>Makeup
I have to thank you from myself and my family. We went out on the water for a 3 hour boat trip in full sun. We all applied sun protection before leaving the house and had big brimmed hats ,sunglasses and shirt protection and reapplied too. I think we were the only ones comfortable without sunburns. Have a great work week.
You take the time to provide dozens of links; I wish people would look at the *show more* section before asking what you've clearly answered there. You've got great patience, Doc! Have a good day! Blessings! Jackie in NY state
Dr. Dray - One thing my mom, grandma and even my former dermatologist neglected to tell me was, "If you're driving a vehicle for ANY quantifiable amount of time, the left side of your face WILL age NOTICEABLY faster than the right side of your face, especially if you don't wear sunscreen daily." How'd I find out?? Looked in the mirror one day and SAW THE DIFFERENCE. OMFG. Hindsight, right?
So valuable and informative. You are such a blessing.and your videos have helped me so much. My skin thanks you for it. Your sense of humour is wonderful and it's such a pleasure to watch your videos and learn. Thank you!.
Fantastic, as always, TY, And thanks for mentioning not using a towel to dry the skin. I always tell my family to skip that step & immediately moisturize instead. You helped my credibility 🤗. Congrats for moving towards 100K. Bet it will happen very soon. Love to Mom & Tybee too.
Actually by watching this chanel I have finally break through the myths of serums aren't the gold mine or holy grail of skincare those are marketed to us zombies of consumerism! How ever since I have a big drawer full of serum, ampollets serum, essences, etc, etc I'm still I'm using them to the bottom of the bottle!!! However, since been subscribed to the lovely Dr.Andrea I am learning to incorporate much more important things to my skincare routine and still other extra nonsense expensive things I have hoarded through the process of purging from Sephora Elite VIP clientele.....thanks Dr.Andrea
@cat What you didn't catch was ""If you want to know how to incorporate a serum at this point then you are at the wrong channel." And Andrea said it here at 20:32
When I started watching these videos my phone was at 81%. I'm at 23% and still going. Will watch on my tv soon as my phone dies. Loving all the info. Also just ordered $100 worth of these products on amazon. Will be here tomorrow 😁
Thank you for recommending CeraVe products. I am currently switching a LOT of my skin care products to reduce any eczema flares on my body or hands. I am recovering from my eczema getting infected with strep on my hands, which was scary and turned into lymphangitis. I love that you are so honest about preserving the moisture barrier and NO fragrance. Fragrance has been my enemy since a very early age. I love VaniCream for hands and body. CeraVe Ointment and Moisture Cream are amazing. I just bought hydrating the bar soap by CeraVe and will update on how my hands respond. Also, lukewarm water...it’s a revelation. You are so helpful! 😃
Hi I was watching utube Tati and people was talking about you how informative you are so I decided to check u out !! Thank you 🙏🏽 am happy I found you 😍
Hi. I have been watching your videos for quite awhile now. Thank you for helping me to be a wiser consumer and invest in products that will help me. I was always confused as to why I put so much thought and time into skincare but my skin never improved from topical treatments. I was a product of marketing ploys. I'm glad I have much more suitable and less irritating products for my skin.
I'm telling you, once you watch Dr. Dray you will NEVER watch other skin care influences again! She uses FACTS and doesn't promote all that expensive skincare B.S!
My skin care routine of the last 25 yrs (I'm 62 [there, I said it publicly!]) is simple, inexpensive and pretty effective. I shower every AM, use shampoo head to toe, with a washcloth (ladies, compare the ingredients in shampoo and body wash: they're frequently identical, but body wash is twice as much..it's just marketing BS). I clean my face at night with baby wipes: again, does what makeup remover wipes for half the cost (plus you get lots more/per package!) My favorite face moisturizer is Ponds Extra Dry skin cream (or Walmart's Equate version of it). It's lightweight but very emollient. It does have a bit of fragrance (I know Dr. Dray hates any product with fragrance), but that doesn't bother me. I also use a dab of petroleum jelly on a few extra dry areas after I've applied the face cream. I use Lubriderm lotion on my arms/legs and good quality but not pricey sun screen, and most importantly, I avoid the sun as much as possible, which includes a wide-brimmed hat if I'm outside for more than 5 mins. Protecting your skin from the sun is the BEST thing you can do for it. It's also much easier and more effective to avoid damage than it is to repair it once the damage is done!!
Of course there is such a thing as dehydrated skin. I have it. I cannot use much oil-based products on my skin. If I do I break out and get bumbs. But if I use something for dehydration and drink more water my skin is fine.
I love it! i think if Andrea ever tires of Dermatology, she could have a future in stand up! I am watching these for the humor as much as the education!
This is officially my fave skin care video and I'm pretty such I've watched at least 300 since quarantine started lol this is so funny and informative Edit: Yall she put a whole list of ingredients to not use in the same skin care routine as retin-a in the description box. I stan.
You wanna know how to incorporate a serum at this point, then you are at the wrong channel 😂😂😂. I died. I like your candid expressions. Love love your channel. Keep up the good work Dr. Dray!
